Story
Ricky is a 7 lb., Chihuahua, that is around 3 years old ( 5/7/2021). He is affectionate with the right person, loves to go for walks, and likes to lay in his soft bed. Ricky has to warm up to you and he does think he is the boss. He has a lot of character in that little body and makes us laugh daily. He thinks he is a Great Dane at times. He is Great with the other small dogs here, ignores the cats and would do great with older Children, as he is tiny. He likes his crate and that is his safe, nap time place. He likes to go outside for walks, and is house trained. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and ready for his new home. Please fill out an adoption application at Richardsonrescue.org and give this boy a lap to cuddle on.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 12:00 pm

Story
This cute fluff ball is a 3 year old Chi/ Pom that is around 3 years old( 6/13/2021) and weighs 12 lbs. Nelson came to us from an over crowded shelter and has really made his mark here. He is a very intelligent little guy that is very house and crate trained,  he will kennel up on command. He can get bossy at times and thinks he is the star of the show, and we let him think that he is. Nelson is a loner, he lays around in his crate on a soft bed and enjoys taking a nap.  He does well with the other small dogs in the play area, but King Nelson could never get wet when others play in the pool. He just sits by the pool and relaxes. Nelson would do best around older children as he has to warm up to people.  He has been neutered, up to date on vaccines, Heartworm negative, dewormed, microchipped and ready to rule his new kingdom. Please fill out an adoption application at Richardsonrescue.org and take this King to your castle. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 12:00 pm

Story
Meet Bones! This old man is the funniest little pup!! He is 13 years old, and eats like a horse and acts like a teenager. He is the perfect boy to lay around on your lap. He is house, crate, and leash trained. He loves the other dogs at the rescue, especially the females. Bones came to us needing some teeth pulled, so he has had his dental done. Bones has hair loss from having Alopecia, which is also known as hair loss, it is a very common condition in dogs. Alopecia is different from shedding, which is a normal part of your dog’s hair growth cycle and depends on the dog’s breed. Alopecia refers to either thinning hair or spots of hair loss (bald spots). The vet recommends he takes melatonin daily. If you would like to give this sweet boy a great home to live out his senior years, Please fill out an adoption application at Richardsonrescue.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 12:00 pm

Story
Please contact foster at kimberly.cusack@gmail.comTiny is a great little Chihuahua, actually he is big for a Chihuahua. ??. He is looking for the home where he can spend the twilight years of his life. Tiny is deaf and going blind but can still see a bit. He can navigate well around a house and yard. He also has some cognitive issues. This doesn`t stop him though. He would do awesome in a home with other older dogs or as the single dog in the home. He would also do better with adults and older children. Tiny is good with the other dogs. All he wants is to fall asleep in a big fluffy bed. He can be left alone in the house and does well in a crate. He Iikes to wander around the house and if you have anything that he can walk circles around, like a kitchen island, coffee table, etc, then he will be even happier! Tiny is very quiet, he hasn`t made a peep since he has been with me. He is also not destructive. He gets the `senior` zoomies when he comes in from playing in the yard too and it`s adorable!

Story
Ladies, here is the man for you... he prefers women over the male species and is a typical chihuahua who is loyal to his person. He is good with dogs his size. He is around 7 years old and needs a loving home as he approaches his senior years. If you understand those sweet chi personalities and think Bo might be your man, please read on. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home.
