Story
Little Shug is a sweet Chihuahua mix. She's 1yr old. spayed, 10-12lbs, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. In typical Chihuahua fashion, she can be shy. Shug is a lot shyer than her sisters. Chi owners will know what we're talking about. She will need much more socialization. You just have to have a little patients with her. Shug is dog friendly and enjoys playing with her foster siblings.  A fenced yard is a must for Shug. If you think this sweetie would make a great addition to your family, please fill out the adoption application on our website www.pawsitiveimpactncdogrescue.org ##1744487##

Story
My name should have been Happy because I am the happiest boy. But the name Lucky, also, fits because I am Lucky now to have been rescued. I am about a five year old or older Chihuahua. I was abandoned in a place with about 7 other Chihuahuas. You can guess what the place looked and smelled after we were left there for a long time. Some of the other Chi’s were eating through the walls to get out. We were rescued and taken to the shelter. I think my siblings and I were so glad to be out of the place where we were left. The shelter said we all had great dispositions. My tail has not stopped wagging since I came to my foster home. I do have some tremors but the humans are not sure why. All of us left behind were very malnourished which could attribute to my issues. My hip bones are showing and I am really skinny. But rest assure I am being fed now and will fatten up just fine. I do bump into things on occasion but I don’t let the stop me. I run, I play and I ask for attention. I have a funny little gait as well. Again this could come from being so happy or being so malnourished. Again it does not stop me from doing all the doggy things I need to do. So far I get along with other dogs. I am starting to play with another dog about my size. I am just learning to play with toys. I pick the toys up and am so happy but then not sure what to do. I am watching the others dogs so I am sure I will catch on. I get along with all sizes of dogs as long as they are nice to me. I am not perfectly housebroken but will wear a belly band and it is usually dry when I get outside to use the potty. Not being housebroken may have to do with not being neutered and from being inside for a long time. I will be neutered in November so I am given a chance to put on weight and get stronger. I am starting to go into a crate when I need to. I do not always want to be crated but it is safe. I love to eat and have treats. I love to be outside with my human and doggy friends. I am learning to walk on a leash. It took me two days to learn my foster home’s routine so I am smart. I can be a bit fearful in a new situation but once I am comfortable, I am wide open. I will just cower when I feel unsafe. As long as folks give me time I will come around. I do love being held. I go nonstop and so does that tail of mine. I am happy to be in a safe and clean spot. If you have a spot in your house I can be safe in let us know. I would love a forever family that I can be loved and cared for. Please complete an application at safeanimalhaven.org if interested in giving Lucky a forever home!March 18, 2024, 3:35 pm

Story
Introducing sweet Rusty! This 10 year old male Chihuahua is around 14 pounds and housetrained. If you're looking for a handsome little lap dog Rusty is your boy! Like a typical chi - he needs some space at first and given the opportunity to warm up - once he realizes you're his people and you've gained his trust, he will move right into your heart in no time at all. This little guy loves his family & will follow you all around just waiting for an opportunity to sit beside you. He LOVES going for walks & on car rides - he would do great as an only dog - or possibly with a mellow fur sibling given the right scenario. Rusty will make an amazing companion for a lucky family and would do best with older or no kids - as he prefers a more chill environment. Did we mention how dapper he looks in a bowtie? Don't miss out on Rusty, submit your application today at www.southcharlottedogrescue.com

Quick Facts about Pete: Breed: Chihuahua/mix Age: 3 years Size: 25 lbs House-Trained: Yes Pete was surrendered to Catering to Cats and Dogs after his owners realized they did not have time to care for him. Pete loves food… he LOVES food. He is very food motivated, and it shows a little around his midsection. He is currently on weight management food to get his weight in a healthier range. He likes to sleep, go for walks, get belly rubs, and occasionally play with toys, but he also is a big couch potato if you let him. Most of all, he wants to be wherever you are! He has been working on his basic commands in his foster home and will need continued help once in his forever home. Pete is a somewhat hesitant and nervous dog. After getting to know you a little, he warms up, and if you get lucky enough to become his person, he will always be by your side! He does get nervous with loud sounds and sometimes when you put on/take off his harness. He feels safe in his crate and will resort there when he feels nervous. Pete would do best with low to moderate-energy dogs and needs proper introductions to his doggie friends. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Pete is $358 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

Story
Sometimes we never know what we will see when we start up our car and leave the safety of our homes and our beloved pets that wait for us to return.  Sometimes what we see on the road is disturbing and downright WRONG.     This pair of Chihuahuas were discovered by one of our faithful rescue fosters as she traveled a back country road that was mostly farmland and very few  houses on the road.  First she say the little white chihuahua in the road and he ran from her and wouldn’t let her catch him.  She tried for a while.  Then she went to the nearest house and talked to a man who was out in his yard about this white Chihuahua.  He told her who owned the land where the dog was seen running and so a few days later she went back determined to ride up and down the road until she could see the dog again.  Well there were TWO little chihuahuas now; white and black and tan.  She found the owners of the land and asked them about the Chis and was told they were dropped off by some unknown person and that they had been up in their barn trying to eat the cow feed. They were abandoned and soon our rescue foster trapped them and brought them home to change their life forever.  We are getting them vetted and neutered and spayed 1/26. WE NEED FOSTER HELP!   The white boy is very shy and the black and tan is a female and the “protector” of her male friend.  Help us give them a short term place to stay while we look for a permanent and forever loving home!  Can you help for a few weeks?  Please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  They can be fostered in Nashville, TN or even in the New England area.  We transport weekly and just need someone to show them kindness, love and stability.  They will be ever so grateful!   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 26, 2024, 11:20 pm
