Story
Clara Holly and Clara came from a home where they were not well taken care of. They were living outside all the time with several other dogs. Both are heartworm positive and have started the slow kill method of taking Heartguard every month. This method usually takes at least a year to test negative. Both Holly and Clara are sweet dogs. Clara loves to be held, petted and fed. She can be playful. Holly is sweet as well but very timid. She likes to be approached slowly and in on her terms. She is clearly afraid of people. But once you get to pet her or hold her she loves the attention. She loves to play and follow Clara around. She becomes braver when she is next to Clara. Both have had a few accidents but once outside they know what to do. Both of these girls deserve a loving inside home. They deserve to be fed on a regular basis. They deserve fresh water. They deserve toys and chews. They deserve their own soft beds. They deserve as many pets as they will tolerate. They deserve to be dogs who feel safe. If you have love and a soft place to land these two may be your next best friends. If interested in giving Holly and Clara a home together, please complete our application at safeanimalhaven.org.

Story
Jingle is an 8-year-old, 22-pound mixed-breed boy—a perfect “best guess” blend of cuteness and charm. While we’re not quite sure what breeds make up his unique look, we are sure he’s a gentle soul who’s ready for a peaceful new chapter. Jingle hasn’t always known the care and consistency every dog deserves, and as a result, he does have some ongoing medical needs. The good news? With his medications, he’s doing well and feeling much better. What he needs most now isn’t excitement or adventure—it’s stability, kindness, and love. This sweet senior would thrive in a quite, low-stress home, a cozy spot to relax and feel safe, a person who understands senior dogs and is committed to his continued care.  Jingle is looking for someone who will see past his history and focus on who he is today: a loyal, grateful companion who just wants to spend his days being cared for and loved. If you’re searching for a calm, easygoing buddy to share quiet moments with and make your house feel a little warmer, Jingle may be the perfect fit. Sometimes the best gifts really do come in small, senior packages. If you are interested in adopting Jingle, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **December 31, 2025, 1:45 pm

Story
Meet Cheyenne — a delicate, dear-head Chihuahua with a heart as tender as her tiny 9-pound frame. At just three years old, she has already experienced more upheaval than any little dog should. She spent her life cherished by her mom, but when her owner became disabled and had to move in with friends, Cheyenne came along… only to be told she could no longer stay. It shattered her mom’s heart and left Cheyenne confused and frightened.   Cheyenne has lived a very sheltered, indoor life, and the changes of the past few months have left her understandably nervous. She needs time, patience, and a gentle hand to learn that her world can be safe again. Once she feels secure, she’ll quietly lean in, allow soft pets, and even offer a tiny kiss to show her trust.   This sweet girl isn’t demanding—she’s simply sensitive. She finds comfort in calm environments and absolutely needs another friendly dog in her new home. Having a canine companion gives her confidence and helps her settle. She loves cuddling with her dog friends, and in her foster home, her favorite cozy spot is tucked under a blanket where she feels warm and hidden.   Cheyenne is never aggressive or mean with other dogs, but energetic puppies are not her cup of tea—they’re a bit too lively for her peaceful spirit. What she truly wants is a patient, loving adopter who understands that trust is earned gently over time.   If you’re looking for a quiet, loyal little Chihuahua who will adore you once she knows she’s finally safe, Cheyenne may be your perfect match. With a secure, loving home, she will blossom into the devoted companion she’s meant to be.   Cheyenne is healthy, ready to go, and so deserving of her happily-ever-after.Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to meet this precious girl.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 14, 2025, 11:46 pm

Story
Herman is our  “Small Dog with Big Loyalty”    Hi, I’m Herman — a 5-year-old chocolate and tan Chihuahua weighing in at a perfect 10 pounds. I’m a gentle, well-behaved little guy who’s ready to find a loving, dependable home just in time for the holidays. My life took an unexpected turn when my former owner and his partner split up, and suddenly there was no place for me anymore. Through no fault of my own, I found myself without a home — but not without hope. A kind coworker made sure I stayed safe and out of the shelter, and soon after, Critter Cavalry Rescue welcomed me in and promised to help me find the forever family I deserve. I’m an easy companion to love. I’m housebroken, calm, snuggly, and respectful of my space and yours. I don’t chew things up, and I truly just want to be near my person — whether that’s curled up on the couch or keeping you company during quiet moments. I’m healthy, recently neutered, and ready to start my next chapter with someone who understands that loyalty like mine is for life. I may be small, but my heart is huge, and I promise to love you fully and faithfully. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady companion to welcome into your home and heart for 2026 and beyond, I could be your perfect match. Please reach out to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting me.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 24, 2025, 12:11 pm
