Clara Holly and Clara came from a home where they were not well taken care of. They were living outside all the time with several other dogs. Both are heartworm positive and have started the slow kill method of taking Heartguard every month. This method usually takes at least a year to test negative. Both Holly and Clara are sweet dogs. Clara loves to be held, petted and fed. She can be playful. Holly is sweet as well but very timid. She likes to be approached slowly and in on her terms. She is clearly afraid of people. But once you get to pet her or hold her she loves the attention. She loves to play and follow Clara around. She becomes braver when she is next to Clara. Both have had a few accidents but once outside they know what to do. Both of these girls deserve a loving inside home. They deserve to be fed on a regular basis. They deserve fresh water. They deserve toys and chews. They deserve their own soft beds. They deserve as many pets as they will tolerate. They deserve to be dogs who feel safe. Mrs. Fluff is a delicate little one-year-old, Deerhead mix Chihuahua weighing just 8 pounds, and who is searching for a calm, nurturing home where patience and love come first. While she is undeniably beautiful on the outside, her heart is still healing from a difficult beginning. Mrs. Fluff came from a home that just could not take care of her. After one month in foster care, she has made truly remarkable progress and continues to blossom every day. In her foster home, Princess Fluff has learned that laps are safe, cuddles are wonderful, and gentle voices bring comfort. She seeks affection and enjoys being close to her people once she feels secure. Inside the home she is relaxed, playful in her own quiet way, and her sweet personality is beginning to shine through. She is still building confidence outdoors and leash walks in a fenced yard will prove to be a big confidence booster for her. Mrs. Fluff would thrive in a home where her people can continue this positive exposure at her pace. Car rides and neighborhood strolls are goals we know she will enjoy as she gains confidence. GiGi – Small in Size, Big on Love GiGi is a precious little Chiweenie girl who is about 3 years old and weighs just around 6.4 pounds. Like her sister Mimi, GiGi’s life changed suddenly when the only home she had ever known fell apart. Through no fault of her own, she and Mimi were surrendered when their owner realized she could no longer provide the stability they deserved. The girls were turned into a small-town shelter, and thankfully Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in and brought them to safety. GiGi is still adjusting to all the changes, but even in the midst of uncertainty, her gentle and affectionate personality is easy to see. GiGi is a friendly, sweet-natured little girl who enjoys being close to her people. She has a slightly more curious side than Mimi and seems eager to understand her new surroundings. She does well with other dogs and has lived peacefully with cats, making her an easy fit for many different home environments. We believe GiGi is either already housebroken or would quickly adapt with a consistent routine or pee pad. She is crate trained, though like many small dogs, she would likely be just as content relaxing on a comfy dog bed in a safe, quiet space when her family is away. GiGi has a soft, loving heart and is simply looking for another chance to belong. She doesn’t ask for much — just patience, kindness, and a family who will love her for the rest of her life.
