Story
Carter is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Carter is apx 3 years young 13.5 pounds, short and stocky. He loves people and attention. Walks on leash, has pretty good potty manners but may need a belly band the first week or two . He corrects well. Carter is gentle, super loving and great with all people, kids and cats. He does well with female dogs but is not a huge fan of male dogs. he has a bit of machismo. Currently at the ranch, he has five little girlfriends who he absolutely adores and let’s walk all over him. He would do great with female dogs or as an only dog. Carter had some anxiety the first few days he was here at the ranch but settled in quickly. He really needs a loving and patient adopter or foster who will give him lots of cuddles and attention. Carter was found as a stray in San Antonio. To get approved please visit our website www.texaschihuahuarescuecanada.org to fill in an application to adopt. Story
BIO and PHOTO update Piper is a sweet little pup that loves to lay around and hang out all day. She is around 6 -7 years old and 10.5- 11 pounds. She was rescued from a local shelter in Texas. She is tall and slender gal with a very sweet temperament. Piper is slow to warm up. She is good with other dogs in the home but needs a slow introduction. Because of her unsure nature, it appears it may take her a while to warm up to most things. She now enjoys playing with her foster sibling and other dogs that come to visit. Piper is completely pee pad trained, which is a good thing because when it is raining outside she doesn't usually like to go pee outside. She does like the outside, especially the grass and when she is done she will run to the door letting you know she is ready to go back inside. She allows you to put a leash and harness on her. We let her roam the backyard on her own. She does like walks, however she definitely prefers going to the backyard or on the pee pad. Piper travels well in a car. She is comfortable in the back seat, either on someone's lap or lying on the ground. When she is left alone at home she does not bark or make any trouble, as long as you leave her bed out and a couple of pee pads she is all set. Piper enjoys sleeping on the bed, or you'll find her crawling under the comforter to the bottom of the bed. Piper enjoys her treats and cuddling beside you. Her tail now is constantly wagging. She gets the zoomies, and when we get home she is so excited to see us! It's nice to see her personality coming through. I understand that said dog is a rescue that has come from the streets or shelters and that there is no history on this animal

Story
Cazz is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Cazz, what a love, a very special human will be lucky enough to have this much gentle sweetness in their life. Cazz is apx 7.5 years old and 8 pounds. He has put on a little weight but he is quite dainty. He had a dental and 12 teeth removed. Cazz was rescued from a shelter here in Atascosa county. He was terrified, just shaking, eyes wide, watery, skinny, dirty and just spiritually broken. He came to the ranch and healed his heart a little. We took care of his medical needs and he started to learn to trust and love. Cazz would come to me, but he would not go to anyone else, he would run from them. He would never try to bite, but you had to go very slow picking him up usually with a blanket until he got used to you. He now is in an amazing foster home and he is learning to be a dog, he is 110% lap baby. Cazz does well with other animals, but he would prefer other low-key animals much like himself. He is doing great with his potty manners. He is still a little scared of the leash and harness, but we're working on it. He is very quiet, gentle and loving. Once he gets to know you, he just wants to be held and baby talked and coddled. Cazz is a quiet soul with a big heart. He is a little gem and we all love him and can’t wait for him to find his own personal lap and a family, a family for Cazz, something he probably has never had. Cazz would do fine with older well mannered children but no toddlers or young children please. Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. Story
Toast is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Toast is apx 1.5 years old and 14 pounds. He is a big dog in a little dog body. Toast LOVES people and is very social. He is good with kids but is a jumping bean and needs to work on not jumping on people, so at this time, babies and toddlers may not be suitable. Toast has good potty and leash manners. He is not overly barky. He is a loving soul with a good amount of energy but also loves to cuddle. He is a very excitable dog and he does have a big dog play style. He would most likely not be suitable for small frail dog friends. Toast is a little picky with his friend groups. He prefers female dogs and he is a bit of a bully with big dogs or dominant male dogs. He does much better in a smaller pack. Toast is not necessarily dog aggressive, he would never just attack a dog and he does not go after dogs. He would be fine on walks but would not be the biggest fan of a dog park. His best placement would be with either no other dogs, or a very playful young female dog. He does well when introduced slowly to dogs. He plays well with the female dogs his size and energy level here at the ranch. Toast just needs some training and someone willing to devote some time to him. He has probably just been a stray his entire life and needs a little structure. He is over all a good boy and he loves his humans and is eager to learn. Story
Rosalina is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Rosalina was an owner surrender with her sister Luma. Rosalina is approximately 7 years old and a chunky overweight 16 pounds. She definitely needs some exercise and to be on a diet. Rosalina was very nervous when she first came in, but she is extremely sweet. Rosalina is a submissive dog and she gets along with all dogs, cats and kids. Rosalina walks well on leash. I still have not heard her bark. She is potty trained, travels well in the car, loves people and attention. She’s not a huge fan of change or chaos and it makes her nervous. She is not as confident as her sister and she would prefer a home that is pretty low-key without a lot of change. She is a quiet and easy going dog with a gentle demeanor and a huge heart just waiting to learn to love again. Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given.
