Story
*Fostered in the Hamilton region*Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website.Say hello to Garnett - also known as 'Nettie'! This sweet gal was found as a stray. She was in very poor shape and it is clear that she had many litters of puppies. Over the next few weeks Nettie underwent a number of diagnostics and treatments to help make her golden years as happy and comfortable as possible! She would do best in a home with a single person or a couple that is looking for a low-key pup to add to their family. Nettie will need someone who will be patient and allow her to open up. She isn't particularly cuddly but this may develop as she builds a bond with her future family. She has recently started to show us that she is a big fan of belly rubs, and is quite a spunky gal! Overall, Nettie is an easy-going gal and is happy to sleep most of the day, however, there is nothing that she loves more than walk time! She could run laps around her big doggy foster brother. She is happiest snuggled under a blanket on the couch beside you. Story
*This dog arrives to Grimsby on May 16, and will be fostered in the GTA*Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website.Missy is a tall, slender little lady at around 12 pounds and approximately four to five years old, and behind her soft eyes is a story of love and loss. After the passing of her human dad, Missy found her way to the rescue, and its clear shes still adjusting to such a big change. She may be timid at first, but give her just a little time and patience, and youll watch her blossom right before your eyes.Once Missy feels safe, her personality begins to shine in the sweetest ways. Shes gentle, a bit submissive, and incredibly loving, but she also has an adorable goofy side that comes out when she bonds with her person. Her little circle dances and playful antics are guaranteed to make you smile, and it doesnt take long, within minutes, shell decide youre her new best friend.Missy thrives with a calm, understanding approach. She does best when allowed to come to you on her own terms, with soft voices and gentle encouragement. Because she can be fearful in new or overwhelming situations, she would do best in a home without young children. Older, respectful kids who understand how to give her space would be a better fit. While she has never shown aggression, like many sensitive dogs, she may react out of fear if she feels cornered or rushed. She gets along beautifully with other dogs of all sizes and ages, having lived with both a 120-pound companion and smaller pups. She may also do well with dog-savvy cats, though her playful curiosity means she might be tempted to chase if they runso a confident, calm feline friend would be best.Missy walks on a leash and harness, but like everything else, she just needs a little time and patience to feel comfortable in new environments. Slow introductions, low stress, and lots of reassurance will help her continue to grow into the confident, happy girl shes meant to be.Missy is truly a loving, sweet-natured dog who just needs someone willing to see past her initial shyness and give her the compassion she deserves. In return, shell give you her whole heart, and a lifetime of quiet loyalty, gentle affection, and those irresistibly silly little dances. Story
Currently fostered in Texas Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. To get approved please visit our website www.texaschihuahuarescuecanada.org to fill in an application to adopt. Peewee is a shy and gentle boy. Apx 8 years old and 12 pounds. He takes a couple days to warm up with new people and places. Good with other dogs. He does not bite but he is hesitant to be picked up by strangers , and I would not necessarily put it past him to possibly fear your nip if somebody was not paying attention to his body language and went too fast or cornered him. No children please. Peewee is a gentle and quiet soul. Once he gets used to you, which does not take long, he is up in your lap and wanting to give you a little kiss kisses and he just wants somebody to love him. He is a very good boy. He just needs some confidence building and socializing . A quiet loving home would be best for him with no you g children or hyper dogs. He is a very relaxed dude but also gets the zoomies and does the little dances sometimes as well. He needs routine, stability and comfort. He is just not a fan of a lot of chaos or change. He is a very snuggly and loving boy once he settles in, he just needs someone to give him a chance. He gets a dental May 7th
