Story
Hi, I’m Zeus—a small guy with a big heart and 8 years of life experience. I can be a little nervous at first in new places or with new people (you might catch some side-eye), but once I feel safe, I warm up quickly and show my calm, sweet nature. I enjoy gentle handling and petting, like to sit close to my people, and appreciate affection on my own terms.I walk nicely on leash once settled and am polite around other dogs, doing best with calm, respectful canine friends. Cats are okay too, and I can live with kids who understand I need a bit of patience. On walks, I may bark at new people or dogs initially, but it’s just me asking for space—I usually relax with time. I tend to warm faster to women and kids and may take a little longer with men.I love treats and attention, but I may guard food from other dogs, so meals should be managed if I live with a canine sibling. I’m also working on a gentle weight-loss plan to help me stay healthy.I was surrendered through no fault of my own and am looking for a calm, loving home—apartment life is likely just fine—where I can feel secure, enjoy snacks, and be your quiet little companion.

Story
At just 2–3 years young and a petite 8.2 pounds, Chippy may be small, but his heart is anything but. Rescued as a stray, this little guy has blossomed into a true gem and certified lover boy. Chippy adores people—his humans, new friends, and anyone willing to stop for a cuddle. Toys are one of his greatest joys (especially squeaky ones!), and he has two delightful modes. One moment he’s happily zooming around the house, tossing toys and entertaining himself, and the next he’s cozied up under a blanket, snuggled close to his favourite people. Chippy is curious and friendly with other pets, including dogs and cats, though he prefers playmates closer to his own size. He walks beautifully on leash and makes a wonderful little walking companion—though, true to his size, he prefers shorter winter strolls and hasn’t quite embraced snow like a true Canadian just yet. This sweet boy thrives on closeness and would do best in a home where he isn’t left alone too often. While he is crate trained, he isn’t a big fan and may protest with a bit of barking for about 15 minutes when first settled in. He’s also about 97% potty trained—he knows exactly where he should go and will continue to do great with a consistent potty routine and a human who understands that cold weather can sometimes be a deal-breaker. If you’re searching for a cuddly, playful, people-loving companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Chippy just might be your perfect match. 🐾💛

Story
Fostered in Texas Miss Garnett had her surgery. She had a lot done and her years of being bred and living outside as you can see really have done a number on her body but not her little soul. She had several tumors, needed a dental and is heartworm positive. Tumors were removed, dental done and slow kill method started for the heartworms as she is too old for imiticide injections. Garnett is apx 12 years old and 11 pounds. Chiweenie. Very short she LOVES people and seems to not care much about the cats but she does not like other dogs. She would prefer to be the only dog. Garnett is great on leash and harness, not fast, but walks nicely. She has good potty manners here at the rescue. She is very quiet. Loves cuddles and burrowing under a blanket. She is a couch potato. No separation anxiety. She is not fussy. Garnett is such an easy, loving and well behaved dog with such a sweet demeanor …aside from the not liking dogs part. Even good with well mannered kids. She is an absolute gem. I know she has her quirks but I KNOW there is someone out there that will love having Garnett. Story
Tito is a sweet, soulful 10-year-old gentleman who is happiest when he’s close to his person. Cuddly, affectionate, and people-oriented, Tito forms strong bonds and truly thrives in a calm, quiet home where companionship is the norm, not the exception. This charming senior loves his daily walks and gets genuinely excited when it’s time to head out. While he may pull a little if something smells especially interesting, walking is one of his favourite parts of the day. He also enjoys car rides, relaxing on the couch, playing gently with his small toys, and settling into his bed right beside his human, whether that’s while working at a desk or winding down for the night. Tito sleeps through the night, is perfectly house trained, and has excellent hearing and vision.Tito does best in a peaceful environment. Loud noises like big trucks or the vacuum can be scary for him, and he prefers predictability and quiet. Because of this, a home without children is a must. While Tito has been friendly and happy meeting adults, he is not comfortable around kids and may bark or charge if approached. Tito has lived comfortably with a calm, older cat and may be open to the right canine companion, though his dog-to-dog preferences can vary. That said, another dog is not necessary for his happiness as long as his person is home most of the time. One important thing to know about Tito is that he struggles with separation anxiety. When left alone, he may bark continuously, often waiting by the door. For this reason, Tito needs a home with a person or couple who is home most of the time and understands that companionship is his greatest need.Tito is currently on a prescription urinary care diet and has a few endearing quirks, like needing his collar removed during meals so the tags don’t touch his bowl. He adores liver treats and responds beautifully to gentle routines. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who wants nothing more than to share his days by your side, Tito may just be your perfect match.

Most dogs that come here from a hoarding situation are terrified the first couple days, not Dallas lol he was soooooo happy. He was running around, he was rolling on all the bedding, he was making new friends, he was So SO happy. He loves food. He is goofy, sweet, loving, great with cats, kids and dogs. He acclimates quickly to a new place and new routine. He just loves love, toys, happy people, blankets and a warm bed. He is one of those dogs that you can tell is happy to be rescued. If he acts like that here at the rescue, just imagine how happy he will be to realize he is HOME with a family in a house. That will just blow his little mind!! Story
Quick Facts Name: VeroAge: 7 years oldGender: Female (Spayed)Breed: ChihuahuaColor: Black & WhiteWeight: 3.5 kg / 8 lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   My Personality Hello! I’m Vero. I may be small, but my story runs deep. I spent the early part of my life as a mother, raising pups in a home that bred dogs like me. Though I wasn't always treated as the cherished companion I longed to be, I never stopped hoping for that kind of love. Now, I’m stepping into a new chapter. I can be a little reserved at first who wouldn’t be, after all I’ve been through? But if you offer me a treat or speak to me gently, you’ll quickly see how affectionate I really am. Once I feel safe, I become incredibly loving, following my people around and leaning in for attention. I’m calm, clever, and quietly loyal. And yes, I’ll even roll over to show you my belly when I feel at ease.   My Social Life        •      With People: I warm up quickly, especially if snacks are involved! I haven’t spent time around young children, but I do well with adults who are gentle and respectful. You can pick me up easily, and I’m happiest snuggled close to someone I trust.        •      With Other Dogs: I don’t mind being around other dogs, especially those my size, but I’m more of a companion than a playmate. I prefer peaceful coexistence and usually keep to myself. That said, I do like my food, so I’d appreciate a little space at mealtime just to make sure no one tries to sneak a bite of my bowl.        •      With Cats: I haven’t met a cat yet, so we’re not sure how I’d feel. A careful, slow introduction would be best if one is in the family.   On My Walks I’m an experienced walker and enjoy exploring at a calm, steady pace. I don’t pull on the leash and stay close to my person. it’s one of the best parts of my day! After a nice walk, I’m happy to curl up and rest quietly.   Life at Home At home, I’m an easy and well-mannered housemate. I know how to use pee pads and also do my business outside. I’m flexible like that!  Occasionally, I’ll bark if I want something, but mostly, I’m a quiet observer who’s happy just being near the people I love. Though I’ve spent much of my life focused on motherhood, I’m now ready to be someone’s baby to receive the attention and love I always gave to others. I may have lived in the background before, but I have so much warmth and affection waiting to be shared.   My Ideal Home I’m looking for a calm, kind home where I can finally relax and be loved for who I am. Whether you’re a single person looking for a gentle shadow or a quiet family wanting a sweet companion, I think we might be a match. My perfect home would have:        •      A patient and loving person who understands that trust is earned gently        •      A peaceful environment without too much chaos or commotion        •      Someone who sees my quiet charm and gives me space to shine I’ve lived a life where gentleness was rare. With love, I’ll blossom into the devoted companion I was always meant to be.   Vero's YouTube Playlist ##2632057##
