**Note: Younga is currently in Korea, but she will fly to Vancouver once adopted. Background Younga is a gentle little soul who was rescued from a farmer. She had been chained outside a greenhouse and used as a guard dog. After many attempts to persuade the owner, he finally agreed to surrender her. She now lives safely in our boarding house with other dogs. Personality and Socialization Younga is a very sweet and tender girl. She has medium energy and enjoys playing with friendly small dogs. She is also fine with larger dogs as long as they are calm and kind. With people, she is a total love bug. She adores being close and seeks affection often. She has no experience with cats, but given her soft nature she should adjust well with a slow and patient introduction. Behaviours She has been an easy dog from the start. She does well in the car, during baths and at vet visits. She was calm and well mannered during her checkups. She is quiet, obedient and very loving. She has shown no separation anxiety and no destructive behavior. She uses indoor pee pads and also does her potty outside. She is still new to leash walking but she follows her person nicely and is learning quickly. Health and Diet Younga is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She is dewormed and receives monthly parasite prevention. She eats dry kibble and has no known allergies. Ideal Home Younga is a sweet, gentle and easygoing girl. She will be happiest with someone who works from home or is retired since being close to her person is what she loves most. She is a great fit for a first time dog parent, and she would also do well as a second dog. With her kind nature, she can blend into many types of families. SHYLA is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Shyla is apx 4 years and apx 8 pounds. She came to us back in September from a terrible hoarding situation where she was confiscated by our local animal care services. She was severely neglected. She also came to us pregnant. Shayla has come a long way. She was so shy and reserved when she first came to us. She has now blossomed into a social, sweet and funny dog. She gave birth to five healthy babies that are all on hold for adoption. It is now her turn. Shyla is great with all dogs. She HATES cats. She is good with well mannered dog savvy children, I would say 8 and up years old. She does not have an aggressive or mean bone in her body but she probably would not be super comfortable with toddlers and super hyper young kids. She is shy at first but warms up very quickly. She does pretty good on a leash and harness but again she may be scared in a new enviornment with new people. She needs lots of baby talk and going slow. She is timid at first but she is so loving and adores attention. It doesn’t t take her long at all for you to not be a stranger. She is not overly barky but definitely will bark at strangers coming into the home, like the handyman which is typical chi chi behavior 🙂 We all really have a soft spot for her. She has been through a lot. She has never lived in a house, has had countless litters of puppies, never slept in a bed or sat on a couch to watch a movie. She has never had a Christmas. It’s her turn! It’s her turn to be the baby, the princess, the one someone adores and fawns over. The one chosen to be part of a family! CLOVE is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Clove is the sweetest baby girl. Apx 2-3 pounds and Apx 12 pounds. She is loving, sweet, and quiet with just a dash of the Chihuahua sass once she gets to know you and starts to blossom. Clove loves cats!! She was in the cat room at the local shelter we rescued her from and would snuggle with the cats. She was in there because she was afraid of the larger dogs in the kennel and all the noise. She is shy when meeting new dogs but she does warm up and does like dogs. She just needs slow introductions to them or she will run from them and then hide in a corner. Sometimes she will show her teeth or growl out of fear. This is only to other dogs she does not know. She warms up to the dogs very quickly. She may have been bullied or beat up on the streets as a stray. She just needs a little time, love and patience. She is not aggressive or mean. TINK & TABITHA are currently being fostered in TEXAS Tabitha is the pointy earred Chihuahua. Apx 10 years and 7.8 pounds. She is a bit on the thin side and we’ve been putting some meat on her little old bones. She has a love for cheeseburgers! 😂 🍔 Tink is apx 8 years old and apx 6.8 pounds also a tad on the thin side. She is a chihuahua terrier mix and has kind of scruffy terrier hair. They were shaved before we got them, I am not sure why, so their coat is growing in. They are VERY picky eaters! They eat a lot of hot dogs, cheeseburgers and a little kibble but we struggle to get them to eat dog food. These girls although not litter mates, are sisters. Tink has never known a life without Tabitha and they are extremely bonded. They need a home together. These girls were not well cared for but we know the best is yet to come for them. They both had dentals and blood work. They are doing well for their age but need a little extra TLC. They need stability, love, routine,lots of heating pads and warm sweaters because they are always cold! Lol The girls are 100% pee pad trained. They will walk on a leash but I am not sure if they will want to do that in the winter months 🙂 The girls are typical chihuahuas and when they get scared or nervous they bark. With new dogs and new people they will be quite yappy for a minute but they calm down quickly and are not very barky. They are great with people and animals but just takes them a moment to be sure of them. They are not aggressive. We all adore them and we know you will too!
