Story
*This dog is scheduled to arrive in Ancaster, Ontario on Saturday March 02*Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website. Emmaline was left at a boarding facility when her elderly owner passed away. An employee of the facility took her home, and shortly thereafter lost her job and eventually her home. That combined with other issues lead to Emmaline living with this woman in her car along with 3 other dogs. Once alerted to this dilemma, we stepped in and offered to help the other dogs. Our volunteer had to give the woman $500 to secure the dogs and ensure their safety. We have since gotten her vetted and thankfully she is heartworm negative and healthy. Emmaline has a sweet and hilarious personality. She loves to play, give kisses, and chase her tail. She walks well on a leash and is always happy to go for a car ride or get out and do some shopping. Emma seems to enjoy kids. Emma has always lived with other dogs, but would probably enjoy being a single dog. She can get anxious when someone reaches for her quickly, but overall is easygoing and friendly.Name: EmmalineWeight: ~14lbAge: ~4 years Gender: Female Breed: Chihuahua mix Colour: White and brownMedical: No concerns Fixed: Yes Good with men: YesGood with women: YesGood with kids: 0-6: Not tested Good with 6 +: Yes, respectful as to not grab at her Good with dogs: YesGood with cats: YesHouse trained: Yes (was totally housetrained previous to current situation)Crate trained: YesCrate aggressive/reactive: NoFood guarding: NoWalks on a leash: YesEnergy level: Medium Requires single detached home: NoSkittish/nervous: a little when first approached but warms quicklySeparation anxiety: None noted Barker: Low-average

Story
*Fostered in the Niagara region*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website. Meet our sensational senior, Stuey! Stuey was adopted in July 2023 but it was not been the best fit for him, so he is now searching for a family to live out his final years. Stuey is a spirited dog who loves a good cuddle from his human. He is quiet and gentle when he gets to know people, however he can be reactive to new people and does not respond well in new situations. Stuey will act out of fear and sadly was pushed beyond his current thresholds in new and unfamiliar situations. He will guard his person, and unfortunately these behaviours have been unintentionally reinforced by his previous handler. Stuey needs someone who will provide him with structure, guidance and respect his needs while he develops confidence. We are looking forward to seeing Stuey find the right match and thrive in his next home!Behavioural assessment notes: Stuey has fear aggression caused by stranger danger. The of confidence causes Stuey to act in an aggressive manner, which is his way of stating how uncomfortable he is in most situations. His lack of confidence causes Stuey to be anxious when left alone. He needs a confident leader who can build his confidence through rules, structure, boundaries, obedience and exposure training. He is not a dog to be treated like a hand bag and carried around. His family must avoid coddling or reinforcing fearful behaviour; instead, encourage independence and confidence. He did well when meeting dogs and did not react when we approached his bed and food. He severely lacks leash walking skills and basic obedience. He does however warm up quickly when he has a calm confident leader guiding his path. He went from trembling with fear when I approached him, to him seeking me out and securing himself at my side. He lets me take his leash on and off and was great when I removed his thunder shirt. He will do just fine when he has a suitable foster/adopter that doesnt baby or coddle him. He needs to be lead.Name Stuey (Wendell)Weight: ~9lbAge: ~10 yearsGender: MaleBreed- ChihuahuaColour: FawnMedical: Allergic to poultry products Fixed: YesGood with adults: YesGood with kids: NoGood with dogs: Yes, but an attention hog; may growl at another dog if you are holding him and another dog tries to get your attentionGood with cats: Not tested House trained: YesCrate trained: Yes, eats and sleeps in his crate but needs some more positive reinforcement Crate aggressive: NoFood aggressive: Stuey has not been food aggressive however he is a very fussy eater. He may protect food from other dogs. Walks on a leash: Needs workEnergy level: Moderate. He will do zoomies around the house but after 2-3 times, he settles down.Suitable for an apartment: YesCan be handled: Not initially Barker: Low - has only barked at the doorbell

Story
Kodak | Male | 1 Year | Chihuahua Mix | Kids: Yes | Cats: Yes | Dogs: Yes | Neutered | Microchipped Kodak is a good boy who loves everyone he meets. He is just the happiest boy if he could sit on your lap and be petted and told what a handsome guy he is. Kodak enjoys playing with other dogs. He likes to ply tug and wrestle until he can’t any longer and has to curl up for a nice long nap. At times he can get bossy with other dogs but he will redirect quickly when corrected. He is a smart boy with a lot of motivation to please. Kodak will make a great addition to a home with another small dog to play with.
