Introducing ACE! Ace is the place : ) Ace is a one-year-old, neutered, male who weighs approx 30 lbs. Up-to-date on vaccines and had his annual vet check at Stoneback Veterinary Associates in late March, housebroken, good with cats, grew up with kids and can live with a dog. Ace is a very shy and timid guy and will take some time to warm up but, once he does, he’ll be your sidekick. He is going to need some training and socialization as puppies always do. Ace is quite the love - if you are sitting, he is on your lap, wanting to cuddle. As far as we know he hasn’t been exposed to a lot of dogs, and will need time to transition into a home with other pets. His foster mom has two dogs and he seems skittish when they approach or if they try to initiate play with him. She feels over time he will gradually feel more comfortable. He will definitely need positive training and confidence building to make him a well rounded pup. It’s always important to socialize your puppy to many different things, so they can learn to adapt in a normal life. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed).
