Story
Meet Milo, an 8-year-old Chihuahua with a heart full of love and a calm, gentle spirit. This sweet boy has a low-energy personality and is perfectly content relaxing by your side or snuggling on a cozy blanket. Milo is friendly with the other Chihuahuas he came to the rescue with and would do best in a calm home with older kids who can respect his pace. He doesn’t need a yard — just a soft spot to rest and someone to love him. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion, Milo is your guy! Adoption donation is $395 cash, $420 credit, debit or Venmo. This donation includes a microchip. ***A NOTE ON BREEDS: The dog's listed breed(s) is the best assessment made by a veterinarian, pet finder or rescue staff and is not guaranteed. Story
Meet Minnie! Minnie is a sweet 7-year-old, 6-pound Chihuahua with a heart full of love. She’s attentive, affectionate, loves to give kisses, and is playful—especially with little stuffies that squeak! Minnie enjoys her daily walks and has just the right amount of energy to keep life fun without being overwhelming—she’s definitely not a couch potato. Because of her small size, Minnie would do best in a home with older kids who understand how gentle to be. She would thrive in a family that can give her love, attention, and plenty of daily strolls to explore the world. If you’re looking for a loving little companion who will happily follow you around on adventures, Minnie might be the perfect match! Adoption donation is $395 cash, $420 credit, debit or Venmo. Story
CHULO came to us with his sister, CHISPITA, when their family could no longer care for them. Both are shy but Chulo is the bolder of the two. He has learned how to walk on a leash. Enjoys the company of his sister and should do well with other dogs. Totally ignores the cats in our cat room. Chulo looks like a tiny German Shepherd with a nub tail! He is one year old and has been neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped and tested negative for heartworms and tickborne diseases. Looking for a calm and confident family who can help him be all the dog he can be (i.e., more than just a big fenced yard – gradual outings, walks in the park etc.). Chulo appears to be housebroken and keeps a tidy crate. Approximately 11 pounds. If you are the patient loving family he is looking for, please fill out an application at www.companimals.org. Adoption $250.April 8, 2026, 12:08 pm

Story
MIMI:Are you looking for a little lap dog who wants nothing more than be with her person and snuggle?  Then Mimi is the dog for you!  Mimi was surrendered to the shelter when her family of 12 years had to move and could not take her with them.  Mimi is a senior 12 year old Chihuahua with lots of life to live and love to give.  She is still spunky enjoys short walks around the block and is good with other dogs and cats.  Mimi is housetrained and independent about going outside to do her business.   Mimi is doing very well in her foster home where she loves to roam the fenced yard and gets along well with the 2 other dogs in the house.  She has a crate in her foster home so she can have her own space away from the other dogs, but the crate is not necessary once she has her forever home.  Since she is a Chihuahua, Mimi does become attached to ‘her person’ and will want to be by your side and on your lap the moment you sit down.  She may be shy at first and timid around new people but will warm up especially for the person who is caring for her.  Her favorite thing to do is snuggle with her person while watching a movie.  If you are looking for a loving little companion and are able to give Mimi a comfortable home in her senior years, then she is the dog for you!  Mimi has been seen by an ophthalmologist for cataracts. The lens in her right eye has a mature cataract and a luxated lens but is not painful. Her left eye has a cataract also. Mimi is very good about getting her eye drops (2 different drops to keep her comfortable and to keep her condition from progressing). She will need to be on these eyedrops for life and will need an annual visit with the eye doctor. The eye drops are a prescription at CVS or any other local drugstore and are about $20 per month.  Mimi’s bloodwork at intake looked good and her heart is strong and healthy. Mimi is doing well on a Farmer’s Dog type of diet. Adoption fee is reduced due to her eye care expenses ($200). If you are the family Mimi is looking for, please fill out an adoption application at www.companimals.org. Excellent vet references are a must. References and home visit required for all of our pups.April 8, 2026, 12:08 pm
