Story
Meet Sunny! Sunny is a 2 year old Pomeranian mix who was saved from a hoarding situation along with his girlfriend and three puppies. Sadly, as is common in these types of situations Sunny is under socialized and shy at this point in time. Sunny is slowly learning we are only here to provide him love and care, and is doing wonderful in his foster home. We are confident he will make a wonderful family member for a family who understands his past and gives him the time he needs to learn to trust new people. As with all rescue dogs, they will need a family who is understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with them as they learn to live in a house and around people. They will need time to trust their new family before working on training, such as house training. We require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY. Sunny will to do best in a home without young children as well (10+), that has another confident dog in the home. Please apply to be considered at our website www.angelsretreat.org! 💕🐾 Buttercup Quick Facts: -Shy, but learns to trust -Would do best without children in the home -Would do best with another confident dog in the home -Learning quickly in his foster home! 🩷 If you want to support our dogs but cannot take on another dog at this time please consider sponsoring their adoption fee! 🩷

Story
We adopt out of state within a 1 hour drive from Claymont DE 19703. Noah was surrendered to our rescue when the home he had since he was a puppy could no longer care for him. Noah is very vocal therefore no apartment or condo living for him. Noah is crate trained, and I believe he is house broken, but you cant trust him in a new environment. He loves to snuggle with his person and will also entertain himself with a soft crinkly or squeaker toy. Noah does live in a house with other foster dogs, it takes him time to get comfortable around a new dog. He would do best as an only dog, or human and dog ratio was atleast equal or more humans than dogs. He wants a lot of attention! Noah was recently adopted by an elderly gentleman. Although we had a few visits prior to the adoption, Noah turned out to be a bit too strong for the gentleman. This is what that gentleman had to say about Noah: Noah is a young, energetic, and incredibly lovable dog. He’s friendly, playful, and always ready to roll around in the grass or demand a good belly rub (oh yeah!). He has a wonderful way of showing empathy and is protective of the home—he’ll definitely lets you know when someone is at the door. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Noah. He’s a sweet soul who deserves a family that can keep up with his joyful spirit. Unfortunately, I began experiencing pain in my hands and arms, which made it difficult for me to care for him properly. Even simple tasks like putting on his harness became challenging due to issues with dexterity and vision. This decision was not easy, but it was made out of love—for Noah and his well-being. He’s a young seven with plenty of playful energy and would thrive in a home that can match his zest for life. I was used to my older dog, Buddy, and wasn’t prepared for the level of energy that Noah has, even though he too is a senior. He will make a wonderful companion for the right family. Noah is neutered, just had a dental procedure done along with some extractions, is UTD on vaccines and is microchipped. If you think you are that zesty family that Noah needs, please email AOLanimalrescue@gmail.com and request an application. Adult home, no children under 10 years old. You can also see videos of him on our YouTube page, just search the rescue’s name on YouTube.

Story
Bree is being fostered in FL. Her name is Bree but you could also call her Little Miss Perfect! Bree, Bree The cutest dog who cannot see Soft and furry is her coat When on your lap, you will surely dote She dreams of her own forever family For your love and loyalty she does plea Yes, Bree loves poetry! She also loves snuggles, treats, sniffing around the yard, and squeaky toys. Bree was an only dog for most of her life. Then she arrived at our crazy home and had to adjust to sharing everything with the other dogs. She is now a well-mannered, affectionate, friendly little gal. Bree adjusted to her foster home with no problem and immediately found her way around. She makes a cute low grumbling sound when she needs to go outside or wants the water bowl filled up. Just don't bother her when she is eating - she is very serious about meal time! Bree has the playfulness of a puppy - if you bring Bree into your family, have plenty of squeaky toys on hand. She loves to destroy them to get the squeaker out! Bree is also happy to sit on your lap or next to you as you relax. She enjoys "watching" TV and is a big Phillies fan. Her favorite player is Brandon Marsh - Bree likes his long beard. She is also an excellent car rider. Bree knows to "sit" when receiving a treat. And she does expect a treat when she comes back inside from going potty. Bree mostly sleeps in her own dog bed at night, but will sometimes want to sleep in the bed next to someone. As with any blind dog, Bree can be startled by a sudden noise or touch. She would do best with older children (over age 6). She needs to be introduced slowly to other dogs. Bree prefers a private dining experience. Even though Bree is a senior dog, she has plenty of playful years ahead of her and will be a joy to any family who adopts her. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
