Story
Hi, my name is Holly! My sister, Eve, and I are looking for our new forever homes. I'm still young, estimated DOB 7/22/2025 and probably have some Chi in my ancestry. I'm learning so much at my foster home with other dogs and I love everyone. No kids or cats at my foster home but I'd probably do OK with them if they can put up with my puppy antics. I love to be held and petted, give kisses, and play until I drop.  I'm just a puppy and can get into a lot of trouble so you'll need to be willing to give me lots of gentle guidance, so I can learn all those big dog things, like how to behave in a house, what a crate is for, how to walk on a leash without pulling, and all those verbal commands every dog should know. I may even treat people like I treat my sibling with rough play or decide that a new pair of shoes or a table leg would make a great chew toy, so a lot of appropriate toys should be in my future. The good news is that with the right training and LOTS of love, I'll be the best addition to your family ever and your best bud. If you are interested in me, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to SCP for review! All dogs typically show on Saturdays from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Petco in Clear Lake at 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center.   Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday! The adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $210 (or $270 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas.January 10, 2026, 10:14 am

Story
My name is Toby and I’m ready to find a new “fur ever” home!  My previous owner had to give me up to SCP.  I had a broken leg but SCP took care of that!  I had surgery and now my doctor said my leg looks great and I’m ready to have some FUN!  I love playing with my toys, going on walks, and keeping my foster mom company.  She brags on me all the time about how smart I am.  I love playing in the backyard with my foster dad.   I learn fast and really want to please.  I really want some other dogs to play with.  I would play with kids too.  I will chase cats if they run but if they don’t I just ignore them.  If you are looking for a fun little guy, here I am!   If you are interested in him, please send an email to SCP at SCP Dog World <scpdogworld@gmail.com>! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Story
Hello world.... Ms. Peach here! I am a tiny, 7.5 lb, precious little girl. I was impounded and then rescued by SCP. I am very, very grateful. I am an interesting little gal. I live fine with other dogs and cats for the most part, until it comes to my ball. I am very protective of my ball. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my ball. I carry it around everywhere and I can play fetch for hours! Take my ball away and I will focus on you:) I am a sweet girl and very quiet (until a repair guy comes over!) I am crate trained and pretty well house-broken, if taken out regularly. I love to be snuggled and held. I travel very well, and I am fine with strangers:) I am a great dog! I just tend to be protective of my ball and sometimes my bed. Just something to be aware of:) If you are interested in me, please send an email to us! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review! Story
Bertram is a little hero in his own right. We don't know his whole story - but what we have gathered is that his previous owner passed away- and no one has come to claim him. Bertram's confusion upon intake was heartbreaking-but his fear did not lead him to aggression or growling. He merely submitted to commands- and was anxious to meet everyone with tail wags. He gives all strangers kisses- (we are working on his old man breath) and hopefully with flea treatment- we are hoping for his hair to grow back so he can grow into his most handsome self. :) Bertram eats EVERYTHING. Despite the breath Bertram has impressive chompers- and has a healthy appetite. This little old man has the energy and playfulness of a puppy- but the discipline of a gentleman. He has not torn up his toys nor his blanket. When outside- Bertram walks well with a leash and makes sure to do his business. In his kennel- he makes sure to do his business away from his food and bed. Mr. Bertram is loving , obedient, and wants to make everyone his friend. His greatest joy in life is getting a hug from a stranger. Please come and be the shining light in this pup's life- he may have lost his person, but he himself has so much life to live. Hello there the adoption fee is $20.00 CASH OR CHECK it is low as we do not spay/neuter our animals or vaccinate as we do not have a vet on site. Upon adoption you would sign a legal contract stating that within sixty days you will get them sterilized and vaccinated per state requirement. Sometimes due to age or complications the 60 day window can be extended however only by a vets discretion. Your contract is not fulfilled and your adoption of the pet cannot be successfully closed until proof of sterilization and vaccination is provided to us from the adopter. You may come to the shelter any day of the week between 8 am and 4:30 pm, just please give us a call beforehand to let us know you are coming at 281 291 5644. Thank you!
