Story
Introducing.... Miss Margaret! This is the sweetest little chihuahua you will ever encounter - except at the vet:) She really doesn't like strangers manhandling her:) Margaret was rescued from a shelter and she needed major medical care. She had major infections from her four remaining (very) rotten teeth. These teeth have been removed and she is feeling so much better! Her jaw was broken quite some time ago and she has just lived with it. Unfortunately, there isn't anything to be done for her now. She has adapted to life with a broken jaw. Being toothless, she has to eat canned food only. Missing teeth does not slow her down one bit! She gets ULTRA excited about her breakfast and dinner and will even stand on her hind legs and jump around for food and treats! The rest of the time, she is pretty much a snuggle bunny/ couch potato. She is crate trained and house-broken when taken out regularly. If not taken out regularly, she is not. Her foster mom works 10-11 hour days, so she does pee in her crate during this time. She never poos in her crate. Hey, tiny dog, tiny bladder! When she is out and about in her foster home, she gets along great with the two dogs and many cats that she lives with - no conflicts:) She will use potty pads when she needs to. The vet estimates her to be 14-15 yrs old, however, she doesn't act this old! She is a spunky little girl in the home and especially in the yard. Why doesn't the foster mom keep her you might ask? Unfortunately, she does not understand that she has very delicate little legs and while she uses the stairs up to the bed, she does not use the pet steps down. She jumps off the side of the bed. This is not safe for her little, arthritic legs. She needs a home for her golden years without steps up to a human bed. She needs someone who will love her and cherish her for the sweet angel that she is for the rest of her days. If you are interested in her, please send an email with a completed application to SCP . Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review and to set up a meet and greet! Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $210 (or $270 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard. Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog prior to filling out an application, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some other great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!June 7, 2026, 6:34 pm

Good with dogs,
Story
Hi, my name is Radar! I'm looking for my new forever homes. I'm still young, estimated DOB 2/26/26 and probably have some Chi in my ancestry. I'm learning so much at my foster home with other dogs and I love everyone. No kids at my foster home but I'd probably do OK with them if they can put up with my puppy antics. I love to be held and petted, give kisses, and play until I drop. I'm pee pad trained and working on housebreaking.    I'm just a puppy and can get into a lot of trouble so you'll need to be willing to give me lots of gentle guidance, so I can learn all those big dog things, like how to behave in a house, what a crate is for, how to walk on a leash without pulling, and all those verbal commands every dog should know. I may even treat people like I treat my sibling with rough play or decide that a new pair of shoes or a table leg would make a great chew toy, so a lot of appropriate toys should be in my future. The good news is that with the right training and LOTS of love, I'll be the best addition to your family ever and your best bud. If you are interested in me, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to SCP for review! All dogs typically show on Saturdays from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Petco in Clear Lake at 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center.   Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. Story
Gucci is a 4 year old Chihuahua. She will find her person and be loyal to them. She loves to sit on your lap or right up against you with a blanket covering her. She likes to sleep under the bed right up against you all through the night. Gucci gets along with one of our yorkies as well as other dogs at daycare. However, she and our other yorkie are both alpha dogs and they do not get along at all. She may do better as the only dog in the house.

Story
Age: 5 years Weight: 4 lbs. Adoption Fee: $400 Fostered in Texas Email: linsyorkies@yahoo.com 2/28/26 – Rocky Update: Meet Rocky — part bat, part werewolf, part mogwai… and 100% adorable. Behind that sweet little tongue and those tiny “fangs” is a pup who has been living with significant dental disease and severe bone loss. Rocky was recently evaluated by a Veterinary Dental Specialist. After reviewing his x-rays, she does not believe he is a candidate for bone grafting due to the extent of bone loss in his jaw. The good news? He still has five teeth that she hopes we can preserve with careful management and professional dental cleanings every six months. His first specialized dental procedure is scheduled for March, when she will get a much closer look at everything under anesthesia. Our goal is simple: keep Rocky comfortable, pain-free, and able to enjoy his meals and his life. Specialty dental work — and ongoing six-month cleanings — are costly. As a small rescue, cases like Rocky’s stretch us, but we will always say yes when a dog needs us. If you’re able to help with Rocky’s care, we would be so grateful. Every single donation, no matter the size, helps us keep our promise to him. You can donate here on Facebook or directly on our website : www.YorkieHavenRescue.com Or Zelle : yorkiehavenrescue06@yahoo.com This tiny bundle of cuteness is Rocky — a 5-year-old pup who weighs just 4 lbs soaking wet! Despite his petite size, Rocky has a big heart and an even bigger tail wag for everyone he meets. Friendly, gentle, and always happy to see you, he's the kind of dog who makes your day better just by being in it. Rocky gets along great with other pups and would love a doggy companion in his new home. He’s currently not housebroken and wears a belly band to help manage accidents, but with patience and consistency, he’s sure to learn the ropes. He's also in the process of getting some much-needed dental care. Once his smile is feeling better, he’ll be ready to find his furever home where he can finally relax, be loved, and get all the snuggles he deserves. If you're looking for a loyal little companion with a heart of gold (and a tail that never stops wagging), Rocky just might be your perfect match. 💕

Story
Bandit is a loving boy! He loves attention and snuggles. He is very loyal and loves his belly rubs. He spends his time sunbathing in the spring/ summer and for winter is still curious about snow. He does have some anxiety since I had originally adopted him from the shelter. He was a little more on the aggressive side when I first got him but has since opened up. He loves moms and dads snuggle sessions but he does have a hard time adapting to changes. I had originally adopted Bandit to be a companion for my 8 year old cocker spaniel. Bruno has since passed and bandit was having a hard time with change. He does well with kids (8 years and older), he doesn’t like to play as much due to age and being considered a senior.
