Once upon a time, there was a tiny little dog named Dolce with a very big problem:
Nobody had adopted him yet.
Which was confusing, because Dolce had already checked just about every box on the “amazing little dog” list.
He was born on June 2, he’s a Chihuahua/Maltese mix, and he currently weighs about 9 pounds — although we should probably mention that roughly 90% of those 9 pounds are legs. Dolce did not ask to be built like a miniature runway model, but here we are.
The first time we posted him, we thought surely someone would take one look at those ridiculous little stilts, fall in love, and that would be the end of the story.
And yet… here he is again.
So if you missed Dolce the first time, consider this your second chance.
Dolce is the kind of puppy who somehow manages to be both fun and wonderfully easygoing. He plays well with dogs of all sizes, gets along with cats and kids, and then, when the excitement is over, he’s perfectly happy to settle in and relax.
At bedtime, Dolce heads into his crate, sleeps through the night, and has no overnight accidents. During the day, he’s starting to understand his potty cues and is catching on quickly. Give this boy a consistent routine and a little patience, and we have a feeling he’ll have the whole thing figured out before long.
He’s sweet. He’s social. He’s chill. He’s affectionate.
He’s neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines.
And somehow, despite all of that, Dolce is still waiting for someone to say:
“Yep. Those absurdly long little legs belong in my house.”
We’re really hoping this is the last time we have to post Dolce looking for a family.
Not because we’re tired of talking about him — we could talk about those legs all day — but because the next story we want to tell about Dolce is the one where he finally goes home.
So maybe you scrolled past him the first time.
Maybe you thought he was cute but kept going.
Or maybe you’re seeing him now for the very first time.
Either way, Dolce is still here, waiting for the person who turns this little adoption story into a happily ever after.
