Here is "Penny". Penny is a 4 month old black Chihuahua and she weighs 5 pounds. Penny's owners moved to Florida but, before they moved, they gave Penny to someone. That someone now does not want Penny because he works all day and does not have the time to take care of her. Penny is not trained because, between Penny's previous owners and her owner now, no one took the time to train poor Penny. Penny needs someone who does not work all day and someone who has patience and will give her the time, attention and guidance she needs. Penny is a happy, happy, happy little girl! She gets along with everybody she meets, be it an animal or a human! In Penny's new home, children must be 6 years or older. You must own your own home. No condos. No apartments. Penny got spayed, she got her 4 in 1 shot, she got her rabies shot and she got her distemper shot. To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference in your own name. We get a veterinarian reference from your veterinarian which is a history of medical care administered by your veterinarian to your present or previous pet or pets. Please do not contact us if you cannot abide by our adoption rules. The adoption fee for Penny is $350.00. No credit cards. You can meet Penny on Saturday at Petco located at 201 Union Street in Waterbury during our adoption hours from 12:00 to 3:00. Penny will be looking for you! IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE STRESS THAT IN ORDER TO ADOPT FROM US, YOU MUST HAVE A VETERINARIAN REFERENCE...NO EXCEPTIONS!

Meet Polo, a super sweet 5 year old neutered male chihuahua/terrier mix with the cutest underbite! Polo weighs about 22 lbs and is full grown. Polo is a sweet, loving boy who loves to be around his person and enjoys sitting on people's laps! He can be a little nervous at first when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly.  He is good with other dogs (can be timid around larger dogs at first, but fine once he gets to know them), people, and older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. He has not been cat tested, however we feel he would likely be fine with cats. Polo is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained.  From Polo's current foster:  "Polo is a wonderful dog, sometimes a little too cuddly and loving, but he has a great disposition and would make a great companion to anyone who gets to know him. He is a muscular little guy and has a snaggletooth which makes him look super cute! He would do well as an only dog or in a house with an older dog.
