This sweet, young boy was found running the streets on his own. He had no collar and no microchip and no owner ever came forward to claim him. He is very friendly and very smart and only 13 pounds. We think he is close to a year old. He loves other dogs, cats kids, horses… He never meets a stranger. He will make a great addition to any family and would really love to have another playful fun dog around. He is fostered in Tennessee And will travel once his vetting is complete in a couple of weeks. Story
Sonnie is the charming, independent gentleman of this bonded senior dachshund duo. At 13 pounds, he’s all personality, confident, friendly, and endlessly lovable. He enjoys affection on his own terms and is happiest lounging on soft pillows beside his beloved Roxie, often with calm music playing in the background. Sonnie is social and friendly with other dogs and seems to want to be everyone’s friend. He knows his name and responds well to commands like stay and come. When it’s time to go outside, Sonnie makes his needs very clear, he whines softly and heads straight to the door. Snow doesn’t bother him much, and he’ll proudly do his business even in the deepest drifts before deciding it’s time to go back inside. He’s a protective little guy too, when there’s a loud noise, Sonnie instinctively positions himself in front of Roxie. At bedtime, he happily goes into his crate (when Roxie goes first). Sonnie wears a belly band indoors due to marking behavior and does best with consistent routines. He also has a sensitive stomach, so maintaining the right diet is important for him. Donnie and Roxie are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They rely on each other for comfort and security and thrive as a team. In the right home, one that understands senior dogs and appreciates their gentle routines, they will make deeply loyal, loving companions. If Interested in this island duo, please submit an application under either of their profiles. ##2604216##

Story
Roxie is the sweet, affectionate half of a bonded senior dachshund pair. At just 10 pounds, she’s a true lap dog who loves cuddles and being close to her people. She’s a quiet girl who rarely barks, but when she does, her surprisingly big voice makes her an excellent little watchdog! Originally from St. Thomas, Roxie prefers warmth over cold and snow. She has claimed the back of the sofa by a sunny window as her favorite spot for naps when she’s not seeking pets or reminding you it’s mealtime. She enjoys neighborhood walks, has made doggy friends along the way, and will politely let you know when she’s ready to head home. Roxie knows her name and listens well to commands like stay and wait. She and her companion Sonnie are crated at night and settle in easily, often heading straight to the crate on their own when they’re tired. She communicates her needs clearly; when she has to go outside, she’ll pace and make soft grunting sounds. Once you learn her signals, she does very well. Most importantly, Roxie is deeply bonded to Sonnie and is rarely far from his side. She waits for him, looks for him, and feels most secure when they’re together. Rosie and Sonnie must've adopted together. If interested please fill out an application under either of their profiles. ##2604212##

Story
Meet Otter, a SUPER cute female mixed breed puppy! Otter and her siblings were born to mama Kangaroo (25 lbs Jack Russell terrier/chihuahua mix who was taken in as a stray in east TN when she was heavily pregnant) on 10/16/2025. These adorable pups are long and short, so we suspect that Dad is a Dachshund mix! Otter currently weighs about 8 lbs at 15 weeks old.  Otter is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. She is medically up to date (age appropriate), and working on crate training/housebreaking. Apply to meet this sweet puppy today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2621998##

Story
Hoss and Little Joe Bio Please ensure you understand and can meet the needs of this bonded pair before applying.   Energy level: medium Potty training: pee pads Fenced yard: yes, required Shared walls: not suitable  People: all Dogs: all  Other: bonded pair    Overview Looking for double the love and entertainment? Meet Hoss and Little Joe, a bonded pair of dachshund mixes who will fill your home with energy and affection.   Hoss is a 5-year-old white and tan boy who weighs 26 lbs, while Little Joe is a 3-year-old dark red pup who weighs 15 lbs. These two were found running loose in Columbia, SC and were never claimed. They're absolutely inseparable and must be adopted together—they're a package deal! Both boys are incredibly sweet and affectionate, and watching them interact is pure joy. When you ask "who wants to go outside?" the enthusiastic barking begins as they get so excited to run around together. Little Joe loves to wrestle Hoss while they're zooming around the yard, and it's the cutest thing you'll ever see. Environment Hoss and Little Joe need a fenced yard where they can run, play, and burn off their energy together. They currently use pee pads for potty needs. These boys are quite vocal—they love to bark when they're excited (especially about going outside) and when people approach—so a home without shared walls would be best. They can be left alone for a little while and do okay, though they're happiest when their people are around. Neither has been crate trained in their current foster home, so that's unknown territory. They love walks but need some leash training—they're enthusiastic but not quite polished yet. Pets & People Hoss and Little Joe absolutely love people. They bark as they approach new folks, but their tails are wagging the whole time and they're looking for pets and affection. They're the same way with strangers—all bark (literally) and lots of love. With other dogs, they needed a bit of time to adjust. For the first 2-3 days in their foster home, they barked at the resident dogs. By day 6, Little Joe decided he wanted to sit next to his foster mom on the couch. By day 10, Hoss joined them on the couch (though not quite ready to sit right next to her). By day 16, Hoss had claimed his own spot next to his foster mom. Once they warm up, they're wonderful with other dogs and would likely do well in a home with or without canine siblings. Both boys finish their food quickly but are respectful of other dogs who are still eating—no food guarding or pushiness. They can be a little snatchy when given treats, but they're working on being gentle and are making progress. Health & Special Needs Hoss and Little Joe are both on Hills Science Diet small bites weight management food to keep them at healthy weights. They also take fish oil capsules to help with their dry skin, which keeps their coats looking and feeling better.  Location Hoss and Little Joe are available for adoption from Greensboro, GA and both boys do fine in the car, they handled an hour-long car ride from Augusta to their foster home without any issues. Please email Pattypandey19@gmail.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Hoss and Little Joe is $325  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 11, 2026, 10:58 am
