This charming little 10-pound Chiweenie may have a magical name, but his greatest spell is how quickly he can steal your heart. At just 3 years old, Wizard Waverly is a bright, curious, and affectionate pup who’s learning what it means to be loved and cared for. Wizard came to us from a heartbreaking situation — a home with over 30 dogs living in unsafe conditions. Thanks to the efforts of multiple rescues (including ours!), Wizard and his friends finally got their chance at a better life. Despite his rough start, Wizard’s resilience shines through every day. He’s housebroken, crate-trained, and making great progress learning to use the doggy door. He’s still working on his leash training, but he’s such a smart boy that he’s picking it up quickly! Wizard loves toys, especially ones he can chase or squeak, and he’ll happily entertain himself or join in a play session with his humans. Wizard can be a bit shy and skittish when meeting new people or encountering new situations — understandable given his past — but once he feels safe, his sweet, snuggly side shines. Abby really only barks when she is excited about going outside- she is so happy for outdoor time. Kush is an 8 year old chiweenie. He’s been with us for the past 6 years and has been a great companion and member of our family. He’s also been difficult, with high baseline anxiety and is extremely protective of my wife. He’s bitten me a few times over the years as a result. We recently had a son (who’s now 2 years old) and initially things were going OK with Kush. We had him on Prozac and he was fairly calm with no biting issues or even close calls. He recently stopped eating his food and taking his medication. Per the vet’s guidance, we stopped the medication so he’d start eating again. However, he’s become far more anxious, growling at our son and recently bit him. It’s heartbreaking, but we can no longer have kush in our household given the risks. When my wife isn’t present, he doesn’t seem to present nearly as high levels of anxiety though, as indicated by the times when it’s just been him and I and when he goes to his dog boarder, with whom he’s had absolutely no issues.

Simba is from Greece. He has been with us since he is 3 months old. He is going to be 12 in May. He has been a huge part of our family but in the past 6 months has started to have a barking problem. He has been on xanex and it helps sometimes. I think it may be triggered by our 1.5 year old daughter. I am having a baby in April and we will not be able to keep a barking dog in the house. He is not aggressive, has never biten or even tried to bite but he is an anxious dog and I believe that is part of his barking problem. We are very sad to let Simba go, but we think we need to. We hope to find a very loving home for him.

Sadly, he ended up in a high-risk shelter and on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, the rescue team stepped in just in time, giving him a second chance at life. While having heartworm treatment in a clinic, Mallow moved into his foster home in July 2024. Now, he’s ready to find his forever family! • Personality: Calm, Sweet, Shy Mallow needs a little time and space to feel comfortable, but once he does, he’ll open up beautifully. It may take patience, but winning his heart will be one of the most rewarding experiences ever! He is such a loyal cuddle bug! • Affinity with -Cats: Not interested in cats on walks -Dogs: a huge dog-lover! Very friendly with other dogs regardless of size. He would adjust better in a home with another dog! -Adults/Kids: Good with adults. / Not a fan of kids - he would be the best fit in a home without children. • Housetrained: Fully housebroken, using pee pads indoors and going potty outdoors both. • Walking Manner: Very good on a leash! Wants to keep walks short. • Shedding: 5-6 • Food Allergies: No • Car Rides: Good • Barker or Quiet: Barks a little bit when hearing the loud noise from outside. • Separation Anxiety: He whimpers a little right after his foster family leaves home, but calms down soon. • Bathing/Brushing: Very good. • Likes & Dislikes: Loves treats, doggy friends, and cuddles! / Not a big fan of young kids • Health: Completed heartworm treatment in late 2024 and was cleared of infection by April 2025. Had a few teeth extracted this October due to root damage, but it doesn’t affect his ability to chew. Regular and thorough tooth brushing is essential. Otherwise, he’s a healthy boy!
