She is wee pad and outdoor trained (prefers outside,) loves walks, and prefers nothing better than to snuggle with her human on the couch. She loves to play woth her stuffed toy, and run through the Autumn leaves. She is easygoing, a good listener and catches on to routines very easily. Eleanor is happy to share her home with humans, dogs, and children alike. She most likely would do great with cats as well, though no formal testing has happened. Eleanor sleeps through the night and is an all around good girl. Abby loves the company of another dog and needs a fenced in yard to play. Abby uses washable wee wee pads and/or the yard to potty. Abby really only barks when she is excited about going outside- she is so happy for outdoor time. Meet Marshmallow! Marshmallow is a 2-year-old, 16 lb Chiweenie who came to us from a large hoarding case of over 30 dogs — and he’s making an incredible comeback! Despite his rough start, this sweet boy has blossomed into a loving, snuggly companion who’s ready to find his forever home. True to his name, Marshmallow is as soft and sweet as can be. He LOVES cuddles and would happily spend all day curled up in your lap if he could. Once he trusts you, he’s affectionate, loyal, and eager to please. He’s also recently discovered the joy of toys — especially his favorite stuffed animals — and is starting to show his playful, goofy side. Marshmallow enjoys walks and has plenty of energy when he’s out exploring, but inside he’s all about that cozy couch life. He walks nicely on a leash (though he can be a little jumpy with loud noises) and travels quietly on public transit — he’s a great little adventure buddy! He’s done wonderfully with other dogs and cats, preferring calm, friendly company over rough play. While he can be unsure around men at first, with patience and positive reinforcement he’s learning that they can be friends too. Marshmallow is still working on house training and overcoming a bit of resource guarding, but he’s made amazing progress in foster care. With consistency, time, and love, this brave little survivor will continue to thrive. He’s looking for a calm, loving home — someone who can help him continue to build confidence, celebrate his milestones, and enjoy all the snuggles he’s so eager to give. The Vince we know today has already undergone such an unbelievable evolution from the one that arrived on the farm. He had an at-times snappy aversion to touch. He trembled, hid and withdrew, the results of past trauma we wouldn't want to imagine. Thanks to patience, freedom of choice, and some encouragement from his doggie friends, Vince has allowed us to peel back the layers and show his funny inner personality. If this little guy knows one thing for sure it's that he likes to stay active. After a period of familiarization with the presence of the leash and the motion of putting on said leash, Vince has grown to become quite the walking partner. He can often be found on pack walks with his head held high as he surveys his surroundings. When he's not out on a stroll, Vince can be found zipping around the play yard with his friends...though he's not quite sure how to do this whole "play" thing just yet and will happily take a break from the action to explore his environment on his own. Vince also loves his toys; it brings such joy to watch him toss them about with a jolly demeanor that can't help but make you giggle. Vince still has a great deal of learning to do in how to be a pet dog. The structure we have provided, paired with a gentle approach, has allowed him to understand where he fits in the daily routine. Though he has become quite bold in his now comfortable surroundings, we know it will take a great deal of patience to welcome Vince into an unfamiliar environment. Gandy is a solid delightful spunky little chi mix that was originally surrendered to a southern shelter along with 5 other chihuahuas. We took them all and each one was placed in great homes! Sadly after 2 years Gandy was returned to us at Love Dogs due to personal circumstances in his previous owners life. When he first arrived back to us last week after two years in his home, he was one chunky monkey!! We welcomed him back.. he was always much loved here and he did recognize us.. naturally he had to readjust and was initially a bit reserved and cautious ( part of his nature!). He will never be a confident greeter of new people.. but he is able to and actually wants to feel safe and loved. It didn't take long for him to get into our routine and start trusting us again. Right now Gandy's days are filled with positive experiences only! Playgroups with his buddies Hopper, Navy and Ollie.. long walks around the farm property and tours into the barn to explore all the wondrous horse smells! Gandy is so affectionate and loving to those on his inner circle.. often jumping in our laps and rubbing on us like a cat for attention! He has his favorite friends and with them he gives his whole heart!! Gandy would do well in a home with a another dog or cat but children not so much! He prefers calm and gentle friends who will find it easy to give him space time and choices!! With his somewhat challenging start in life our hopeful buddy deserves a sweet happily ever after!

Ripley is a sweet, playful young lady who loves car rides, outdoor adventures, and relaxing at home with a good bone. She’ll happily snuggle for hours and just as quickly switch into play mode. While she enjoys meeting other dogs with proper introductions, she can become overly excited and would do best as the only dog in the home. She just loves having all the attention to herself;and honestly, she deserves it. Ripley is still working on her leash walking skills, and may lunge and bark towards other dogs on walks. She would benefit from an experienced adopter who can continue her leash training and help her thrive! She would be most comfortable living in a quieter neighborhood where she can enjoy her walks with fewer triggers. At the end of the day, Ripley is a total cuddlebug with a big heart, and she’ll bring so much joy to the person lucky enough to call her theirs.
