At just 1 year old and 17 pounds, Tarpon is a little Chiweenie mix with a BIG personality—and an even bigger heart! This handsome little guy is the definition of go with the flow. He arrived in his foster home and quickly settled right in, adapting to his new family like he’d always belonged there. His tail is always wagging, he loves attention, and he’s eager to please. Basically, Tarpon’s philosophy is: If you’re happy, I’m happy… now where are my treats? Tarpon loves people, dogs, walks, playtime, and snuggles. He enjoys exploring outside and happily trots along on leash. Once the adventures are over, he’s more than ready to jump up on the bed and curl up with his humans. And yes, he has already figured out the important rules of life: potty outside = treats! He is house trained, walks well on leash, travels well in the car, and knows “come here.” He loves plush toys, enjoys playing with his foster dog siblings, and has shown no resource guarding or unwanted behaviors. He came to us from an over crowded shelter where he spent a couple months being nursed back to health by a loving foster home. He has blossomed into a happy, loving companion and continues to carry that same personality in his RDR foster home. Slinky fka Eli is housebroken, walks beautifully on leash, knows his basic commands, and has wonderful house manners. He loves being with his people, getting attention and belly rubs, and curling up on a dog bed. He has done wonderfully with other dogs and cats. He is also crate trained. Pacino Pepe is a 9 year old White Chihuahua with the biggest and sweetest eyes you have ever seen. This tiny 5 pound boy has been a loyal partner for years to an older woman with MS and cancer and now she has passed and he is an orphan looking for a new senior home to bright some joy and love to. He lived with his former Mom and was deeply bonded with her as she was fairly isolated and never left the house. This boy is housebroken and pee pad trained but will go outside as well. He will make a fuss if you leave the room and he is not with you. A homebody person that just loves the home environment and puttering outside in the yard could be the ideal new adopter for Pacino Pepe. He does get along with other dogs but he truly wants to claim his female person immediately and follow her everywhere. The foster family went to church with his mom and reassured her they would fine him a home. He is a very affectionate dog that is crate trained and housebroken. He is also comfortable with frequent visitors of various ages as well. Buttercup and her sister, Bubbles were surrendered to a kill shelter because their owners just had too many and couldn’t find homes on their own. Their mom is a long-haired Chihuahua and their daddy is a Shih Tzu and they were born on February 2nd last year so they are now a year old. Buttercup has been spayed, is up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative. She’s also microchipped. She weighs about 7 pounds and is full grown now. She is great at the Vet and The Groomer and loves riding in the car. She needs a little practice on the leash and she’s making great progress on house training. Buttercup is a little shy at first, and she definitely tries to boss her sister around, but they really love each other! She and Buttercup are very bonded and we would very much like to get them a home together. They are so funny together! They play and run zoomies around the house. They would do well with older children and we have not had them around cats but we feel like they would be fine with proper introduction.
