Story
Cana’s story is one of heartbreaking loyalty and incredible resilience. She was found as a stray who refused to leave her puppy’s side after a tragic accident took one of her babies. Despite everything, her gentle spirit never faded. Thanks to a kind sponsor, Cana and her surviving puppy, Daisy, were given a second chance—fully vetted, spayed, and flown safely to New York. Now 2.5 years old and 20 pounds, Cana is everything you could hope for in a companion: friendly, sweet, playful, and just a little silly. Her love for Daisy shines through in everything she does, and that same devotion extends to the people around her. Cana is ready to bring warmth, joy, and unwavering loyalty into a forever home. Could that be yours? Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30. Tiny paws, big personality! Jasmine Bailey is a 5-month-old chiweenie cutie weighing just 5½ pounds, but don’t let her size fool you—this little lady has plenty of charm. Born on 7/21/25 right at our rescue (her mama arrived pregnant), Jasmine has been surrounded by love since day one. Jasmine is a happy, curious pup who loves to explore and play. This smart girl already knows how to use a potty pad and understands going outside too. She’s still practicing her leash skills, but she’s learning and getting better every day. Story
Naomi is the kind of little dog who makes you stop, smile, and fall in love all in the same moment. This beautiful Dachshund mix girl has the most heart-melting smile and a gentle, loving spirit that quietly reaches right into your heart. At just 1 year old and full grown at a slim 14 pounds, she’s the perfect petite companion—with a limousine, extra-long little body that only adds to her charm. What we love most are those adorable short legs, with her tiny toes turned outward, making her absolutely unforgettable.   Naomi’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. She was rescued by a kind woman who travels the country in a tractor trailer, giving dogs like Naomi a chance at a better life. For days, Naomi rode along in the cab, surrounded by other small dogs all hoping for rescue. When Critter Cavalry stepped in to save her and others, her new chapter finally began.   At first, Naomi wasn’t sure who to trust—but watching her slowly open up has been something truly special. Day by day, her sweet personality has blossomed as she’s learned that she is safe, loved, and finally home. She does wonderfully with other dogs and is playful, gentle, and beautifully mannered. She’s housebroken, walks nicely with a harness, and carries herself with a quiet grace that makes you want to protect her forever.   Naomi is more than just a pretty face—she’s a little soul who has learned to trust again, and she’s ready to give her whole heart to someone who will cherish her. She’s healthy, spayed, heartworm negative, and completely ready to start her forever life.   If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind companion with beauty, sweetness, and that irresistible low-rider charm, Naomi is your girl. Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to bring this special little lady home.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 23, 2026, 11:24 pm

Story
Chihuahuas are some of the most beloved breeds in America today. Their small bodies and tender, loving souls bring the kind of affection that so many people are searching for. They don’t need much space or food, yet they give enormous companionship, loyalty, and joy. These little dogs want to be at the center of their person’s world, creating bonds that last a lifetime and leaving a legacy of love that endures even after they are gone.   Grant’s story is one of resilience and hope. He came from a home with too many dogs and not enough care, ending up in a tiny shelter in Tennessee, frightened and unsure of the world. Despite this uncertain past, Grant has a gentle heart and a sweet, affectionate nature that is shining through more every day.   Grant is a handsome 1-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua with the most charming white sock “leggings” that make him truly stand out. He’s a tall little boy with a big heart, and though he can be a bit nervous at first, he is making remarkable progress in just two weeks with us. Like a child a little afraid of the dark, Grant simply needs patience, love, and gentle reassurance. Once he feels safe, he will gladly curl up in your lap, soak up attention, and shower you with affection.   He is good with other dogs, though sometimes a little bossy at first—likely a habit from his uncertain past—but he quickly backs down once he feels secure. Grant is mostly housebroken and does well in a home without a crate. He is a climber and clever little adventurer, so confining him isn’t the best idea. He thrives when allowed to move freely, and he won’t tear anything up.   Grant is a small dog with enormous potential to become a loving, devoted companion for the right person. He is ready to blossom in a home that will give him the patience and affection he deserves, one cozy, comforting day at a time.   To make Grant a part of your life, email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Please include your city and state.
