Story
Dani was a rescue and has been with our family for 6-7 years. She is literally the sweetest dog and we've only heard her bark once or twice over that span. She does overeat a lot and goes through her periods of shedding hair which becomes troublesome with our youngest. Even though Dani is the sweetest, we're at a point in our lives where our children, careers and extracurricular activities are taking up so much of our times that we feel very guilty for neglecting Dani. Ideally she deserves a family that can make her the center of attention and show her care that we haven't been able to.

Story
Nina and her sister Pinta were rescued from the dog pound. We believe these adorable girls are chihuahua/dachshund/pug mixes (the curly tails coming from the pug). Both girls have very soft fur. Nina has a bit of blue in one eye so there is something else in the mix. They are young, probably between one and two years of age. At 19 pounds, Nina is the larger of the two girls. Nina is very affectionate, sweet, and playful. She is a little shy but warms up quickly. She is a lapdog who loves pets and cuddles. She likes treats and will toss them around and play with them before she eats them. And she loves snow! Nina would be content as an only dog, or in a home with another dog with a similar temperament and playstyle. Nina is crate-trained but needs some more work with house and obedience training. Her new family should give her plenty of attention and playtime, take her on walks, and give her a lot of cuddles and affection. Nina must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and needs a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Nina is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Nina is available for adoption to approved in-state and out-of-state applicants. Her in-state adoption fee is $250, and her out-of-state adoption fee is $450, which includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to the Northeast and Pacific Northwest. Story
Pinta and her sister Nina were rescued from the dog pound. We believe they are chihuahua/dachshund/pug mixes (the curly tails come from the pug). Both girls have very soft fur and are young, probably between one and two years old. Pinta is smaller, weighing 16 pounds. The sisters occasionally get into squabbles, so we think it would be best if they went to separate homes. Pinta is very affectionate, sweet, and playful. She is more outgoing and active. Pinta is a definite lap dog and will nap on your lap or shoulder whenever you watch TV. She is very playful and loves her toys. We also just discovered she loves snow. Pinta is crate-trained but needs more work with house and obedience training. She is smart and is learning quickly. Pinta loves her people and can be an escape artist. She will not stay in her outdoor kennel because she wants to be in the house with you. She also cannot be left in the backyard when you leave because she will try to escape to follow you. Pinta must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. Pinta's new family should give her plenty of love, attention, and playtime. She must be walked on a leash and needs a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Pinta is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Pinta is positive with a low load of heartworms (we are happy to explain). She now receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. We are using the slow-kill treatment and she should test negative in 6 to 12 months. Pinta needs no special care for her heartworm treatment so she can be adopted to an approved applicant now. Pinta cannot travel on a transport to another state until she is heartworm-negative. Please email 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you would like to adopt this adorable little girl. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3634Say hello to Hannah! She and her companion Hazel came into rescue when their human mom passed away and the vet convinced their dad to surrender them because he suffers health problems and has difficulty caring for these senior ladies. Both girls are now sharing life in a comfortable ATDR foster home, being well loved and cared for. Their foster mom says they are both as sweet as can be and get along well with the humans and other pups in the house. Even though they came into rescue together, they can be adopted together or not, but if not, they each need another doggy friend in their new home. Fourteen-year-old Hannah is a sweet old lady with a bit of hearing loss who loves her daily squirrel-hunting walks! She suffers from borderline Cushing’s and is being treated with herbal supplements. When not crated, she needs to go out pretty much hourly or she may have an accident…a small thing to do for enjoying the company of this precious senior girl. If you’re looking for a wonderful devoted companion to share all the good things in life with, please submit an adoption application for Hannah. She will warm your heart and your lap and love you more than you could ever imagine.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 25, 2024, 4:37 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.ATDR 3764 Meet Bella. She's a sweet senior chiweenie girl who came to ATDR via another rescue group. Bella was dumped at BARC by her owner, who requested she be euthanized. Bella was flea infested, missing patches of fur and was heavy heartworm positive. It hurts our hearts to know Bella was in that state of neglect as an 'owned' pet. She wasn't a stray. Bella has a grade 4 (out of 6) heart murmur but that doesn't slow her down one bit. Bella is full of spunk. Bella will finish her last heartworm treatment in early February and will be ready for a forever home of her own toward the end of that month. Bella is a little doll. Her foster mom says she loves having her. She is crate and house trained. Bella enjoys sunbathing outside. Even though it appears she prefers women, she enjoys being with people and gets along well with other dogs. Bella is a cuddle bug. She will make a fantastic little lap dog for some lucky adopter after she’s on the road to better health! Her ideal home would be with someone who is retired or works from home looking for a warm pup to share their comfortable chair or sofa with! Bella is a precious girl who loves her person! Please consider opening your home and your heart to this special senior baby and submit an adoption application for Bella! She’ll be the best little friend and companion you could ever hope to find!
