Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Layla — A Gentle Soul Learning to Trust   Layla is a sweet but shy girl who’s just beginning to discover what it means to truly be a dog. Until recently, she lived in a breeding facility — one of those “moms behind the curtain,” raising litters of puppies adored by many, while her own world stayed small and lonely.   Now safe and loved in foster care, Layla is slowly finding her footing in this big new world. After two months, she’s finally comfortable lying in the same room as her human and, with some gentle encouragement, comes over for soft pets. Progress is happening — it’s just at her pace.   Layla’s journey reminds us that healing takes time. There’s no magic switch to make her a “normal” dog overnight. She needs a family that understands this — one that will offer patience, compassion, and space while celebrating every little victory along the way.   Because of her shyness, Layla will thrive best in:   A calm home with no small children A fenced yard, so she can explore safely A confident dog friend, to show her the ropes and help her feel secure A Note About Safety and Flight Risk   During her first month in foster care, Layla was a significant flight risk. Once she got outside into her fenced yard, there was no getting her back in — she would hide behind trees and go straight into flight mode. For that reason, her future family must be extremely cautious and understand she will need a long lead when outdoors, even within a fenced area. Her foster mom can provide detailed guidance on how to help Layla feel safe, build trust, and learn how to calmly come in and out of the home.   Everyday Challenges   Layla is still working on mastering everyday dog skills. She hasn’t yet learned how to navigate stairs — a single step down she can manage, but multiple steps, such as those on a deck or inside a home, are still too overwhelming for her right now. With time, patience, and encouragement, she may overcome this.   One of Layla’s quirks: she won’t eat from a bowl. It’s a reminder of her past — when bowls likely meant stress or fear. Her foster mom hand-feeds her by scooping her food into her kennel, and Layla happily gobbles it up! She’s also a bit picky about her meals, but her foster can share all the details.   Layla may be a “designer breed,” but she’s also a survivor — a gentle heart ready to learn that love can last forever. With understanding and time, she’ll blossom into the loyal companion she was always meant to be.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Age: DOB 3/9/25 Weight: 17lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes, with dog savvy cats Kid friendly: Unknown Potty trained: Almost! Crate trained: Yes REQUIRED: Physical fenced yard & another dog within the home Hi! I'm Frannie! The happiest and most joyful cocker spaniel you'll ever meet. I can't wait to meet my new family and become part of your lives forever. I'm still a puppy with an endless supply of puppy energy and love to give to my entire family. I love everything soft and snuggly: blankets, pillows, beds (human and dog), sweaters (do you know how cold it is in these MN winters???) and even more than all of that stuff, I love to snuggle and cuddle on the shoulder or in the lap of my humans. Chin and ear scratches are the BEST and sometimes they even make me fall asleep. Oh - and I love to give you puppy kisses, too. I hope you like puppy kisses - they're just one way I show you how much I love you!!! I'm a very good eater, too (food is awesome!!) I'm currently on the same schedule as my foster brother and sister, so I eat breakfast each morning around 6 a.m. and dinner is served promptly at 5 p.m. - or else my foster Mom is gonna hear about it from me and my foster siblings!! I also get these awesome things throughout the day called treats - and man are they yummy. Usually I get them every time I go outside and potty and whenever I "sit" - but if I had it my way, I'd have full access to that jar of treats all day long. They are soooo yummy. Speaking of potty training...my foster Mom says I am a super fast learner and have nearly mastered my potty training skills since coming to their family one week ago. It's super important that I have a routine and as long as my family and I stick to that routine, I am perfect (duh - does she know who she's talking about? I'm obviously perfect all the time!) I don't even mind my crate if my foster Mom and Dad have to leave for a while - after all, the big human house is a bit overwhelming for a young pup like me, so my crate makes me feel safe and with one of my stuffie toys and my blankets, I snuggle right in until they're back home. If you'll let me, I'd prefer to snuggle right next to you in your big bed at night, but I will also sleep in my kennel if needed. TOYS!!! Have we talked about toys yet?!?! I LOVE them. LOVE. THEM. Especially the stuffies with crinkle paper in them. They are the best and I will play with them with another dog or on my own. I like to stash my toys and will also steal my favorite human's socks, sweatshirts and slippers to add to my stash pile. I don't even chew on them - I just like to have them near me if I can't have my human nearby. I am so excited to meet my new family and am ready to open my heart and share all my love and joy with you. We're going to be the best team. **Frannie is still learning to walk on a leash and came to us very scared/skittish of a leash, so if her new family has a fully fenced backyard where she can run, play and potty safely while she continues her leash training that is ideal. She is still pretty skittish when the leash comes out and I'd hate to see her bolt unexpectedly if she was in a backyard without a fence while she's still learning.** Adoption fee: $695

Age: Estimated DOB 8/4/24 Weight: 13 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown/not tested Kid friendly: Unknown/not tested Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes **NEEDS A FENCED YARD AND ANOTHER DOG IN THE HOME** Meet Enzo! Enzo is an affectionate, gentle little poodle who truly shines once he feels safe and settled. He loves his people and enjoys being close, but he can startle easily—sudden noises can catch him off guard. Because of this, Enzo will do best with a patient adopter who understands shy or sensitive dogs and is willing to help him continue building confidence. Enzo gets along very well with other dogs and has lovely manners. He needs a home with another friendly dog to help show him the ropes and give him reassurance. He’s not high energy and is content with a calm, predictable routine. He is a good eater, sleeps nicely in his kennel, and kennels well when his foster runs errands for a couple of hours. Enzo is also a good little car rider. He walks well on leash and his recall is coming along—he’s learning and picks things up fairly quickly. Enzo is a great little guy who just needs the right home—one that’s patient, understanding, and willing to work with him as he continues to grow in confidence. Adoption Fee: $695

Age:1 Year Old Weight: 27 pounds Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Unknown Potty trained: 90%-needs prompting occasionally Crate trained: Yes Sweet and Shy Tavis is Looking for His Forever Home! Tavis is a gentle, affectionate boy who loves his people and does well with other dogs and even cats. He enjoys exploring alongside a canine companion but can be hesitant on his own. Sensitive and thoughtful, Tavis thrives in calm, predictable environments. While not aggressive, busy or chaotic settings can feel overwhelming for him. Once he feels safe, his loyal and loving personality shines. Tavis has done well with resident and foster dogs when introductions are slow and structured. He can be an only dog in the right home; however, without a canine companion, he will need a home where he is not left alone for a full workday. He does best with routine, reassurance, and regular human presence. Because of his sensitivity, Tavis is not a good candidate for dog parks or unstructured group play. He prefers calm, controlled interactions and thoughtful introductions. A fenced yard is strongly preferred, and apartment living or very busy households may be challenging for him. Tavis is most comfortable in quieter environments where he can relax and feel secure. Tavis is seeking a patient, understanding home that will allow him to settle in at his own pace. In the right environment, he will be a loyal and deeply rewarding companion. *Tavis Eligible for a Trial Contract! Adoption Fee: $595
