Story
Stevie is a five year-old mixed breed dog that loves to sleep on soft blankets, play with all kinds of toys, likes to swim, and is wonderful with people and kids. She loves the outdoors, playing in rivers and lakes, a good bird chaser, and a squirrel aficionado. Unfortunately, as she has gotten older, she is picking more fights with our other dogs. She has never liked other dogs. At eight weeks old when we got her, she showed signs of being aggressive to other dogs. We tried to train this out of her and got to a good point with our family dogs for the first few years. However, this last year she has gotten into too many fights with them and is has been a difficult decision, but we need to rehome her. We love her very much and she has more personality than any other dogs I have come to know. She is very animated and has a lot of love to give. We rescued her at eight weeks from a shelter, it is with a heavy heart that we need to say goodbye. We want her to live the best life possible.

ELSA IS BEING FOSTERED IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ELSA'S STORY: Elsa is a beautiful adult female Cocker Spaniel. Presumed to be a hit-by-car dog, she was rescued from the LA County Carson Shelter on 1/11/24, and taken directly to the VCA in anticipation of orthopedic surgery. Elsa was picked up by animal control with duct tape wrapped around a fractured leg. :( The shelter sent her to an outside vet for x-rays and removal of the duct-taped bandages, which were replaced with a soft cast while she awaited further treatment. Elsa saw a surgical specialist who repaired her radial ulna fracture, and she is now receiving post-op therapy in her foster home with Hershey & Violet. Elsa has been sweet and friendly with her foster siblings - as well as her care providers. What a good girl! Her age estimate* is about 7-9 years old, and she weighs about 22 pounds. Elsa exhibits some stranger danger (being disturbed by, and barking at people on the street, people she doesn't know) and also has separation anxiety. She'll need some focused training with a force-free trainer to help her with these issues. Don't miss the video of Elsa on her first pack walk in the park with her foster siblings Hershey and Violet (in her wheels)! *Please note that any age provided is only an estimate, based on veterinary examination. >> APPLY TO ADOPT ELSA at Camp Cocker Rescue: www.campcocker.com/elsa ELSA IS BEING FOSTERED IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Be sure to check out other available dogs at www.campcocker.com/available-dogs THANK YOU FOR GIVING RESCUE & SHELTER DOGS A CHANCE!

Story
Barnabus is an amazing pup with a huge love for fetch—give him a ball, and he’s the happiest dog in the world! He’s looking for a gentle and patient adopter who will let him take his time to build trust. Barnabus thrives in a calm environment where he’s spoken to with kindness and allowed to come to you on his own terms. Once he feels secure, his sweet and loyal personality truly shines. While he’s not a fan of constant cuddles right away, Barnabus warms up beautifully with stability and love. He enjoys quiet walks, watching the world go by, and engaging with the people around him. He’s great with kids, other animals, and people, making him a wonderful companion in the right home. Barnabus does have a quirky growl, but don’t be alarmed—it’s his way of asking for attention, especially when he wants to play! He’s been misunderstood in the past, but in the right hands, he’ll flourish into the perfect, devoted best friend. If you’re ready to offer Barnabus the care, understanding, and love he deserves, he’s ready to meet you! Fill out an application today to bring this playful and protective boy into your life.

Adopt Dilly! 💕🥪 She is a fun, active, and adventurous little girl who’s always ready to explore the world around her. She’s being fostered in a loving home with kids and other dogs and is doing great with everyone she meets. She’s already learning the ropes — using pee pads and going outside like a champ for such a young pup. Dilly is a Cocker Spaniel x German Shepherd mix and is expected to be small–medium when fully grown, making her the perfect size for snuggles and adventures alike. This litter is about two months old and ready for their forever homes, and Dilly would love nothing more than a family to grow up with. If you’re looking for a playful, sweet, and curious puppy, Dilly might be your girl 🐾 Fill out an application at wishbonela.org if interested!

Story
Adopt Bambino! 🥪🐾 Bambino is absolutely adorable (duh!), confident, social, and so cute it’s hard not to fall in love instantly. He loves playing with the big dogs in his foster home and fits right in, but he’s also independent and perfectly happy entertaining himself on his own. He’s one of the bigger pups in the litter, so we expect him to be a perfect medium size when fully grown — great for both adventures and couch cuddles (and he loves cuddles 🥹) This Cocker Spaniel x German Shepherd mix litter is about two months old and ready for their forever homes, and Bambino would love a family to grow up with. If you’re looking for a confident, playful, and irresistibly cute puppy, Bambino might be your perfect match 🐶🤍 Fill out an application at wishbonela.org if interested!
