Hi meet 16 year old SHAKIRA. Yep...she's 16 years old! We rescued her from the South LA shelter where she had been brought in as a stray. This little lady weighs only 32lbs and looks like a mini Rottweiler. Shakira is currently in a foster home with cats and dogs and really enjoys being outside and snuggling in the other animal's beds. She came to us with stiff joints and moved around very slowly but in her foster home she has found the Fountain of Youth and is bouncing around with teenage dogs. That being said, she is sight and hearing impaired and has a couple of tumors (possible sarcoma), which given her age, surgery was not recommended by our vet. Her bloodwork looks good otherwise! We are looking for an adopter or forever foster for Shakira for however long she has left. A nice cozy bed with access to the outdoors is all this super senior needs. Shakira is spayed, vaccinated, micro-chipped. The family adopted Miso through Craigslist. She has a bent tail, the people we adopted from said she was born like that. She was offered $100 but when we arrived they gave Miso for free. She was 8 weeks old at the time. They did not know the breed and we never figured out how big she will get. Her adoption month was around July and we think her birthday is around May so her birthday was celebrated on May 1. She was born in 2018. She is not great when meeting new dogs, she has this irrational behavior when she sees a dog. She gets very aggressive, barks, gets too close to their personal space, and "fake bites". She has not bitten any dogs throughout her 5 years of living. She is great if she gets to know any human as long as they are not aggressive. She asks for lots of butt scratches. She is very antsy but can be very patient if needed. Miso hates nail grinders and clippers. Very licky. It is her way of affection. Very vocal. Great house alarm. A great family dog.

COURTESY POST Hello! My name is MR. BEAR! I was found living under a truck in an auto park in South Central LA. Some nice people came to my rescue and now I am looking for a place I can rest & live out my days. I am extremely friendly, trusting, gentle, and love being with people and other dogs. I’m an “old soul” and have a kind and soft demeanor. I am potty trained. You will just have to take a bit of time with me to show me where to go outside. My ideal home includes some cool, loving humans and hopefully other dogs. I just want to be part of the fun. Please consider making me part of your world! MR BEAR has a micro-chip but we have been unsuccessful in finding his family. He is 12 years old, date of birth, June 7, 2010, and weighs 60 pounds. He appears to be a handsome blend of Cocker Spaniel and Newfoundland… likely some other fun breeds thrown in, too. Maybe Rottie, or Tibetan Mastiff, or English Lab ?? Health Update: MR BEAR is drinking and eating like a horse! He’s been to the vet to receive some much-needed attention. He has some skin issues, possibly due to unattended allergies, but now on his way to a big, beautiful silky coat. Just had a dental, too. He’s a little weak in his hind legs but this doesn’t slow him down at all! He’s fully mobile and has the heart of a lion. Nothing can stop this boy!
