Story
A synonym for grace is kindness... and our Gracie is the very definition of both. On April 20th, we reached out for help for three severely neglected Collies—Gracie, Solomon, and Sam—as well as a bottle feeder for two precious newborn puppies. Despite dedicated veterinary care and the unwavering commitment of their foster, the puppies sadly did not survive. Their sweet mama, Gracie, did. Now this kind-hearted girl is ready to find the forever home she has always deserved. At 7 years old, Gracie's life hasn't been an easy one. She spent years living outdoors in filthy conditions, knowing very little human kindness. Today, she's discovering the simple joys every dog should have—a warm bed, a full belly, gentle hands, and people who love her. And she absolutely blossoms with human connection. When asked to describe Gracie in one word, her foster didn't hesitate: "Kind." Gracie gets along well with other dogs, though she still carries a bit of her mama personality and may gently correct bad behavior when she sees it. She is crate trained, leash trained, and eager to please. Because she has had limited exposure to the world outside her previous environment, she is still learning about new sounds, places, and experiences. Her ideal home is one that will continue showing her patience, love, and guidance as she discovers how wonderful life can be. Gracie isn't the kind of dog who demands endless games of fetch. Instead, she's looking for something much more meaningful—a companion to share life's quiet moments with. Whether as a friend to another dog or as someone's cherished princess, Gracie is ready to give her whole heart to the people who give her a chance. After everything she's endured, we think it's finally Gracie's turn to be loved. Could you be the happy ending she's been waiting for? Story
Are You Yuan Bao’s Person? When Yuan Bao and his beloved companion, Katy, came to Southland Collie Rescue in February 2025 after their family fell on hard times, they had each other. Through all the uncertainty and change, Yuan Bao never left Katy's side. He was her protector, her shadow, her constant source of comfort. For years, caring for Katy was his purpose. Recently, Yuan Bao lost his best friend. And while he is handling the loss with the quiet grace only dogs seem to possess, it's clear that something is missing. The companion he watched over, walked beside, and loved every day is no longer there. His heart is ready for a new connection. At 12 years old, Yuan Bao is everything we love about senior dogs. He's a stunning mahogany Collie with a gentle soul, kind eyes, and plenty of love left to give. He may not walk very far anymore, but he still enjoys getting outside to relax when the weather isn't too hot or too cold. He is housebroken, well-mannered, and happiest spending time with his people. Yuan Bao should be the only pet in the home, where he can soak up all the love, attention, and companionship he deserves. What he needs now is simple: a loving adult-only home where he can enjoy his senior years as a cherished indoor companion. A soft bed. A gentle hand. A family of his own. After a lifetime of giving his love and loyalty to others, it's Yuan Bao's turn to be cared for. Could you be the one to help heal his heart? Could you be Yuan Bao's new best friend? If you live in Southern California and think you're Yuan Bao's person, please complete an application at: https://collie.org/adoptapplication Somewhere out there is the person who is meant for Yuan Bao—and we're determined to help them find each other.

Absolutely amazing dog very energetic and loving! Loves attention and just wants to play all the time. I'd love for him to only temporarily be fostered til I can find a place that allows dogs and has a yard. My issue is due to a hardship, new job and I have to relocate so I just need a temporary fix. Please love him til I can get him back. As of today 5/24 I'm moving so it's my only day to find him somewhere please help
