Meet Rocky, the young and energetic pup with a big personality! Rocky is a friendly and affectionate dog who is always up for a good time. He's athletic and enjoys going on long walks or runs, but he's also content with just hanging out and cuddling up with his favorite people. He may be a little independent, but he's also a big softy at heart and can't resist giving kisses to his loved ones. If you're looking for a fun and loving companion, Rocky is the perfect pooch for you! All of our dogs are completely medically vetted and vaccinated, de-wormed, treated with flea & tick prevention medication, 3 & 4DX tested, microchipped and spayed and neutered. Story
Katy is a beautiful, sweet, and affectionate female who is 11-years-old. She has come in to our Southland Collie Rescue with her mate, Yuan Bao, who is also 11. They are a bonded pair and will not be adopted out separately. Katy is 68 pounds and is good on a leash, does not lunge, or jump. They love people, but would do best in a home with no cats or other dogs since Yuan Bao is a bit possessive of his little lady! Katy has diabetes so will require just a small shot once a day after breakfast. These 2 would be fabulous as therapy dogs so they can spread their love and joy. Southland Collie Rescue will agree to pay any major medical expenses that might arise until they pass.

We are looking for a PERMANENT FOSTER HOME in California for this wonderful bonded pair. What is a permanent foster? It is when you bring an SCR dog into your home and heart for the rest of their precious lives and the rescue covers all the medical bills until they cross the Rainbow Bridge. Katy and Yuan Bao were very loved. But their owners fell on hard times and relinquished them to us. They are both 10-11. Katy is very sweet and lovable. But she is diabetic. This is very easy to manage as it only requires a shot 30 minutes after her breakfast. She walks well on a leash, is quite spry and active for her age. She enjoys playing with toys. She needs to be adopted with Yuan Bao. Can you give these two beauties their perfect home to live out their lives together? If you're interested in this bonded pair, please complete an application at ww.collie.org.

We are looking for a PERMANENT FOSTER HOME in California for this wonderful bonded pair. What is a permanent foster? It is when you bring an SCR dog into your home and heart for the rest of their precious lives and the rescue covers their medical bills until they cross the Rainbow Bridge. Yuan came in with Katy after they were relinquished by owners who were going through hard times. They were very loved. Yuan is great with people- very very affectionate. He will play with toys, he walks well on a leash. But he is very protective of Katy and his people. At 10-11 years old it was his job to protect her. He will chase down small animals and become extremely protective if he feels Katy or his person is in danger. We do not suggest he is in a home with other animals or small children. He does need to be together with Katy. He is a lover that Katy used as her protector for their life together. If you can give them a home together where Yuan can love you and take care of Katy you will truly be their heroes. If you're interested in this wonderful bonded pair, please complete an application at www.collie.org.

Story
Riley is gorgeous 4-year-old rough-coated sable mahogany collie. He is a strong-minded dog who needs an extremely savvy adopter…preferably someone who has worked with and/or trained dogs that feel they need to be in charge. Riley is unique in that he is very happy and loving with his people, yet also very protective. He should go to a home with no small children and no small animals. And it is highly recommended that Riley does not run free in a dog park and has minimum public walking exposure until he has more intensive training. Riley is totally house trained, and crate trained and would be wonderful in a home with an easy-going female dog who will help him feel secure. Riley would not only flourish but become a star collie with someone who has actually worked with and trained very smart alpha dogs. If you feel that you could be Riley’s forever person, please complete an application today!

Katy is a beautiful, sweet and affectionate purebred rough collie. She is 11 year's old and is a bonded pair with Yuan Bao. He is just as beautiful and ever-so-loving, too! Katy is 68 pounds, and he is 72 pounds. We will not separate them. They would be a wonderful addition to any assisted living facility, or anywhere love can be shared! Our Southland Collie Rescue will pay medical costs. Katy is diabetic and needs a small injection after breakfast. Both should be adopted out to a home preferably without any other dogs or cats since Yuan Bao is a bit possessive of his lady!

Story
Merrick is truly something special! At just over a year old, Merrick is a 45-pound Australian Cattle Dog with a heart as big as his potential. This handsome boy is smart, affectionate, and ready to find a forever home that will embrace him—just as he is. Due to old leg injuries, Merrick can’t live an active lifestyle, but that doesn’t dull his shine. He’ll need a caring foster or adopter who can help manage his mobility with gentle at-home treatments like red light and massage therapy, along with pain medication on days he needs extra support. But don’t let that fool you—his spirit is as bright and loving as ever. Merrick may not run marathons, but he will run straight into your heart. He's a total gentleman—calm, friendly, and soaking up the love from everyone he met. He’s crate trained, has a medium energy level, and enjoys peaceful companionship over chaos. He gets along great with calm dogs, and although he hasn’t been cat-tested yet, his sweet and gentle nature suggests he could do well with the right introduction. Merrick is loyal, intelligent, and deeply people-focused—a true best friend in the making. All he needs is someone to see past his physical limitations and recognize the perfect companion waiting beneath. He may need a little extra care, but in return, you’ll get a lot of love. Looking for a loyal, laid-back lovebug to share your life with? Merrick is ready to meet you. Fully vetted, neutered, vaccinated, and house-trained Professionally trained in basics (sit, stay, walking on leash, etc) – includes 1 FREE trainer session at trainer's location for adopters Foster-to-adopt option available – all costs during fostering are covered by us - food, medical, etc ##2248587##

Meet Madison aka "Maddie" Female (soon to be spayed), 6 months old, vaccinated, microchipped. Located near Temecula Personality: Loyal, Loving, Smart, Highly Trainable, Playful, Friendly, Sweet Needs: Cattle Dog Experience or Similar Breed Experience, a "Sweet" playful friend would be great, not dominant with her as she can be shy. Maddie's Story: Maddie was reportedly found on the edge of the road next to her deceased sibling. Maddie would not leave his side and was traumatized by the event. Maddie can be shy at first but like any great cattle dog warms up and will follow you everywhere. VERY LOYAL AND LOVING little girl. She is afraid of getting hurt for some reason so please no home with alot of loud noises, busy household with many kiddos might scare her. She would do best as an absolute companion friend to go places, walks, lifestyle pup who can ranch with you (has been around horses), play with you, adventure with you, love with you. She can be an only dog if her people are outgoing to continue her life experiences, build her confidence, take her places to play with other pups. Story
Boone!!!!! 33 lb compact pocket pup full of ALL of the cattle dog personality traits. Your BEST friend, go to companion, adventure seeker, snuggle bug. WATCH MY VIDEO Boone is a typical cattle dog full of engagement, curiosity, bravery, intrigue, work ethic, and play drive. He is a real little riot with his canine friends, always looking to tumble, play tug o war and romp. Boone comes to his name (exceptionally well), walks nicely on a leash, is around horses and ignores them and he did live on a property with cats. Boone LOVES to play with dogs that are younger than him or somewhat non alpha. If a dog is larger than him, he will be mindful not to boss that dog around. Good choice Boone!!! (Smart Boy). If a dog is near his size and not playful he can be a little territorial typical of a cattle dog but he CAN be taken out to areas with other dogs also as any territory guarding tends to be at his own space. He is friendly with objects, taking and removing from him. Boone is an overall well rounded sweetheart and we really would love an adopter with cattle dog experience. You can hold Boone like a baby and he is a snuggle bug. How Did Boone Come To Us? Read his story here: Boone and his brother Chance, a Red Cattle Dog, were abandoned in a horrible, filthy building after the tenants were evicted. Left in kennels on layers of their own feces, no view outside, no airflow, just filth and jail. We broke them free, bathed them 2X immediately, vetted, neutered and did all the things to bring them around to be ready for adoptions. Boone is now ready for his FOREVER FAMILY. PLEASE SERIOUS INQUIRIES AND LEAVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER SO WE CAN REACH YOU. OUR RETURN EMAILS MIGHT GO INTO YOUR SPAM FOLDER.
