Story
Finn is a 6 month old male Collie mix with a gentle heart, soulful eyes, and a sweet nature that is impossible not to love. Finn is the shyest of the pups in his litter, often hanging back while his brother and sister take the lead in greeting visitors. But don't let his timid first impression fool you - behind his cautious approach is a loving, affectionate pup just waiting for the chance to shine. A few gentle pets, a soft treat or two, and Finn quickly begins to relax so that his sweet personality starts to emerge. Recently, Finn enjoyed a Dog Day Out with one of our volunteers, and it showed what a truly special boy he is. Although he was nervous at first, he bravely explored the Downtown Square, taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells of the world beyond the shelter. He even enjoyed his very first pup cup, showing him that new adventures can often be fun! As the day went on, Finn's confidence grew, and his gentle personality began to shine brighter than ever. His volunteer was completely charmed by this sweet boy and described him as 'such a good dog,' adding that 'Finn will make someone a wonderful companion.' We couldn't agree more! Finn is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds with the people he trusts. He's gentle, loving, and eager to find his forever family who will help him continue to build confidence. Come meet Finn soon, and bring home your loyal best friend! The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. Story
Meet Bud! Bud is a senior Collie mix with a beautiful coat and soulful eyes! This handsome boy is 55 pounds of quiet sweetness and gentle charm with endless amounts of love to give! Bud is a low-energy boy who enjoys a peaceful routine. He walks nicely on a leash, knows his basic commands, and is both house and crate trained -- making him an easy, comfortable companion for a calm home. Bud came from a heartbreaking hoarding situation where he lived among nearly 150 other dogs. Because of that, he didn't get the individual attention and socialization he deserved, and he can be a little skittish when meeting new people. But underneath that initial shyness is a tender, loyal heart just waiting to bond with his person. One thing that truly brings Bud joy is playing with other dogs. He feels most comfortable around his furry friends and loves spending time with them. A home with another friendly dog and a fenced-in backyard where he can safely hang out, explore, and play would be ideal for him. Bud can also live with cats, making him a wonderful option for a multi-pet household. With patience, kindness, and consistency, Bud truly blossoms. He doesn't need much -- just someone willing to move at his pace, focus on him, and show him what it truly means to be loved. In return, he will offer unwavering loyalty and the kind of unconditional love only a grateful dog can give. Bud is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated -- ready to start his new chapter. If you'd like to be the hero this beautiful boy has been waiting for, please inquire at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or fill out an application at www.barkvilledogrescue.org. Bud has been waiting a long time for his person. Maybe that person is you! BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from his foster home.August 10, 2026, 2:34 am

Story
Tweety is a cattle dog (likely mixed with a Smooth Coat Collie), which basically means she’s equal parts brilliant, busy, and always three steps ahead of everyone in the room. If there’s a job to do, Tweety has already done it… and improved it. Right now, Tweety is training in our Beyond The Bars program, where she’s channeling all that lively puppy energy and sharp intelligence into focus, structure, and partnership. She’s the kind of dog who makes you laugh one minute and say “how did you even figure that out?!” the next — constantly observing, learning, and engaging with everything and everyone around her. Whether she’s zipping through training exercises, locking eyes with her handler like she’s solving a puzzle, or soaking up a quiet moment of connection, Tweety is showing just how much potential she has. The puppy in her means her attention span is simiar to a gnat - lol - but when she's focused, she's really focused! August 5, 2026, 5:14 pm

Story
Mavi is the perfect mix of shepherd intelligence and collie spirit: brilliant, active, affectionate, and always ready for an adventure, She’s the ideal size for hikes, road trips, yard zoomies, and being your loyal sidekick through life. She absolutely thrives when given structure, activity, and a chance to learn. Mavi completed training with Big Hair Dog Training Services, where she quickly became a star student She is house trained, crate trained, knows excellent manners, and even sits politely at doorways before exiting. She is eager to please, highly trainable, and loves having a job to do. One of Mavi’s favorite things in the world is playing with other dogs. She would especially love a home with a canine companion to romp around with. That said, she can be an only dog. Mavi is truly a GOOD dog -- she has done everything asked of her. She has waited patiently for almost 2 years. She has worked hard. And yet she is still waiting for someone to finally choose her. Mavi is 4 yrs old, 55 lbs and currently located in Sturbridge, MA, but transport can be arranged almost anywhere for the right home. Her trainer is even offering ongoing virtual support to help her continue succeeding. Please help us find Mavi the family she deserves before she loses her placement. She should not have to spend another year wondering why nobody has come for her. Story
Meet Odin, a powerful name for a smart, energetic dog who knows what he likes. This handsome guy is very treat-motivated, already knows sit, and loves chasing balls, making him a fun partner for training and interactive play. Odin walks decently on leash and would truly shine in a home with plenty of space where he can stretch his legs, burn energy, and enjoy doing his own thing. Like his namesake, Odin is selective about his inner circle. He would do best in a cat-free home. He can be cautious with new people and may bark at strangers, so he’s looking for a confident, experienced adopter who understands how to build trust and provide calm, consistent guidance. In the right hands, Odin will reward patience with loyalty and a strong bond—ideal for someone seeking a devoted companion rather than a social butterfly.
