Meet Bud! Bud is a senior Collie mix with a beautiful coat and soulful eyes! This handsome boy is 55 pounds of quiet sweetness and gentle charm with endless amounts of love to give! Bud is a low-energy boy who enjoys a peaceful routine. He walks nicely on a leash, knows his basic commands, and is both house and crate trained -- making him an easy, comfortable companion for a calm home. Bud came from a heartbreaking hoarding situation where he lived among nearly 150 other dogs. Because of that, he didn't get the individual attention and socialization he deserved, and he can be a little skittish when meeting new people. But underneath that initial shyness is a tender, loyal heart just waiting to bond with his person. One thing that truly brings Bud joy is playing with other dogs. He feels most comfortable around his furry friends and loves spending time with them. A home with another friendly dog and a fenced-in backyard where he can safely hang out, explore, and play would be ideal for him. Bud can also live with cats, making him a wonderful option for a multi-pet household. With patience, kindness, and consistency, Bud truly blossoms. He doesn't need much -- just someone willing to move at his pace, focus on him, and show him what it truly means to be loved. We are looking for a new home for our dog, Blaze. We have had him since he was a puppy, and he just turned one year old last month. Unfortunately, we need to re-home him because we have exceeded the pet limit at our residence. Following a recent home inspection, our landlord informed us that we have too many pets in the household. Blaze is an energetic young dog who loves to run, play, cuddle, and be petted. I know somebody loved this dog! Found as a stray near an apple orchard, this gorgeous brown-eyed girl knew commands, was potty trained, and walks beautifully on leash… but nobody came for her. She has proven to be a goofy, playful, super affectionate and fiercely loyal companion! Her standard greeting is to roll over for belly rubs, but if you happen to encounter a tiger or bear on your morning walk… She’s going to be in between you and that animal. She is suspected to be some type of cattle dog mix, and shows some herding drive, so she is probably not the dog for you if your household consists of toddlers, squirrels, and Chihuahuas. But she enjoys the company of dogs who don’t “skitter around!” She would love a family who wants an affectionate ride or die companion. Meet Odie! Odie is one of many dogs we have saved from rural Upson County lately. Being a very small, rural shelter the dogs are only held for a very short stray hold before they are at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully they have a very dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly to try to get the dogs to safety before their time runs out Odie is about a year and a half old and not even 35 lbs - what a great age and size! It's hard to know for sure what breed he is given that he was a stray but those tell tale spots could mean there is some heeler or maybe even bird dog in there. We prefer to think of him as 100% purebred Rescue Mutt - the best kid of dog there is! Odie is great with other dogs and has learned to really love his crate as well. He's a super social guy who was a big hit at one of our adoption events recently - stopping to greet all of the new people he came upon.
