Story
A FRIENDLY GIRL:  Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 32 lbs.   Hi, I’m Louisa.  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control after what seemed to be a long time without proper care.  Animal control started helping me, and Mostly Mutts has continued that good care.  When I arrived, I was missing quite a bit of fur, had skin that needed help, was a little underweight, and I’m also heartworm positive.  The good news is that I’m already improving - my fur and skin are looking better every day, I’ve put on a few pounds, and I’ll be treated for heartworms soon.  I’m hoping to be in my forever home before that treatment begins, so I can recover surrounded by love.  I also needed bloodwork, which was generously funded by a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization — thank you to them!  I’ve been through a lot, but those hard days are behind me now and I dream of a forever home where I can finally be someone’s cherished girl.            • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and only liked the bigger ones.  I’m vocal and easily excited around dogs, so if you have a larger dog at home already, let’s meet with my trainer! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.  Also, kids should not walk me due to being startled by loud vehicles and my excitement when seeing other dogs. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a friendly, affectionate, and super-sweet girl who loves spending time with the wonderful volunteers and I show my appreciation by giving a few kisses.  I was pretty scared of baths at first, but I’ve come such a long way!  Now that I get my medicated baths twice a week, I’ve learned to relax and trust - and I’m proud of the progress I’ve made. / Energy Level: 4-6.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer!  Check back soon to see what I've learned. I’m new to walking on a leash, but learning. / I’m getting used to going into and exiting my crate now.  It was very scary at first, so there may be an adjustment in my new home, and I may dart out of it. / I’ve been having some accidents on the shelter schedule, so I’ll need my new family to help me finish mastering this.  • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love treats and spending time with people - and I’m sure we’ll discover even more of my favorite things as I settle in with my new family! / Loud cars/traffic noise can make me jumpy, and I might try to run off when startled, so keep a good hold of my leash please and let’s find a quieter place to walk that the busy streets around the shelter.  I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, good care, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.  Since I wasn't kept on heartworm prevention in my previous home, I'm HW positive.  The good news is that I'll be treated for that in early December and Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of that treatment with their vet, so local adoption please.  I’m still receiving medicated baths for my skin twice a week and these can be done in my new home.    I’m looking for a family that will treasure me and take good care of me!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 2, 2025, 6:40 am

Tobi is an energetic good boy. He loves running through fields and forests. He spends his days loafing next to his humans even though he could be off playing with other pet companions within the home. He’s very smart and does funny dances to express his excitement.

Story
Meet Odie! Odie is one of many dogs we have saved from rural Upson County lately. Being a very small, rural shelter the dogs are only held for a very short stray hold before they are at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully they have a very dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly to try to get the dogs to safety before their time runs out Odie is about a year and a half old and not even 35 lbs - what a great age and size! It's hard to know for sure what breed he is given that he was a stray but those tell tale spots could mean there is some heeler or maybe even bird dog in there. We prefer to think of him as 100% purebred Rescue Mutt - the best kid of dog there is! Odie is great with other dogs and has learned to really love his crate as well. He's a super social guy who was a big hit at one of our adoption events recently - stopping to greet all of the new people he came upon. This well rounded lovebug will make an amazing addition to one lucky family! Interested in adopting?
