Story
Location -Wayside’s Canine Behavior Center – I`d love to show off all the cool things I’ve learned at Wayside! Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days to meet me! My Friends at Wayside say: - I am enrolled in Confidence College. This is a program for dogs to build confidence and learn that the world is not so scary. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. - I already know some basic commands!- I’m a little shy—slow and steady wins the race with me.- My previous owner said that I am crate-trained.- I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information. My home needs are: - I need a home without other dogs - I prefer having your attention all to myself!- No apartments or shared living spaces for me, please! Other dogs, people, and noisy environments make me nervous!- I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. - For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar. For your convenience, we sell them in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags.Check out my super cool new video! Scroll through my photos to watch it. Hi, I’m Pretty Girl! And yes… I live up to the name, but what really makes me special isn’t just how I look… it’s how much I love. I’m a 2-year-old border collie mix with a gentle heart and a simple goal in life: to be close to my people as much as possible.I’ll be honest with you, I’m still figuring some things out (and who isn’t!?). I don’t have a long list of tricks or big life experiences just yet, and new things can feel a little overwhelming at times. But I’m trying my best every single day! I’m currently enrolled in Confidence College here at Wayside, where I’m learning how to be brave, build trust, and grow into the best version of myself. With a little patience and encouragement, I know I’ll keep blossoming. What I do know is how to love, and I do that really, really well – If I do say so myself! I absolutely adore being near my people. Whether we’re sitting together, taking a slow stroll, or you’re giving me belly rubs (my favorite!), I’m happiest just being by your side. I don’t need a busy lifestyle…your presence is what means the most to me.I’m looking for a home where I can be your one and only pup, and I’d do best in a house rather

Story
Hi friends! My name is Willy. I'm a border collie mix of sorts and quite handsome if I do say so myself. I'm a bit of a special dog, a real shy guy, but if someone would just give me a chance I will make a great companion. I love other dogs, as long as they're friendly, and I absolutely must go to a home with another friendly dog or two to show me I'm in a safe place. We all need some reassurance sometimes, right? I also need a fenced yard. Whoever my new owner is will need to be able to give me lots of time and space to feel comfortable with them. I'm a really good boy, I'm crate trained and house broken, but until I get used to you I'm gonna need you to keep your paws to yourself. I promise it's not personal, and you'll see I'm worth the wait! Willy is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. He's located at The Pet Connection Sanctuary in Beloit, KS, but transportation to the right home may be available. To learn more about Willy please contact The Pet Connection by call or text- 913-671-PETS (7387).

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Virginia (virginiak@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process. Jovie was found as a stray in rural MO and nobody came looking for him. We don't understand why as he is the sweetest boy ever! Jovie loves people and gets along with most other dogs, he does have a vocal play style which can be too much for some! He rides well in the car, takes treats gently, walks well on a leash and loves to explore the great outdoors. Jovie would love to find an active and loving family to call his very own! Approximate Birthdate: Nov 2021 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming. TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed. Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg) X-Large 101 lbs (46 kg) or more For more information please fill out an application. CONTACT INFO The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA) Web site: tarasdream.org Adoption Information & Applications: https://tarasdream.org/adopt Upcoming Adoption Events: https://tarasdream.org/events Email: email@tarasdream.org April 1, 2026, 1:24 pm

Story
Oliver, our guest in board and train here at the Sanctuary, arrived just a few days ago. He's an adorable boy, and we're taking a few days to get to know him. Sadly, Oliver has gone through some traumatic events recently. His owner died suddenly and unexpectedly at a park with Oliver by his side; Oliver was left there and had to be retrieved later. Oliver was his owner’s whole world, and the family is now working with the Manhattan shelter to help find him an appropriate placement and new home. He is now with The Pet Connection, so he can decompress and get consistent handling. We know that Oliver is a sweet, gentle boy who loves his people. He enjoys taking walks and is reportedly good on leash. He would do best in a calm, adult home with no cats and no puppies. We also know that Oliver is part gazelle and can jump a short fence, so if your fence is only 4' tall, you'll need to walk him on leash for sure. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 if you can give Oliver the kind of home he needs. He'll reward you tenfold. He's staying in Beloit, Kansas, but transport is available to the right home.

Story
Ive been practicing my best Pick Me smile for the day I finally get to call someones home my own. Hi, Im Lucky, and Im a young guy with a goofy streak a mile wide and enough enthusiasm to power a small city. Life, to me, is one big game, and Im always ready to zoom, bounce, wiggle, and play my way through every moment. Whether Im wrestling with another dog, tossing toys in the air for myself, or sprinting joyfully around the yard, Im happiest when Im moving and making the world feel fun.

Im a handsome, happy guy with a heart full of love and a brain that lights up the second treats or toys appear. That means training wont just be easy for me-itll be exciting. I already know the commands sit and down. Im eager to learn, eager to please, and eager to show off how clever I can be. I do best in a home that enjoys an active lifestyle, because Ive got energy to spare and I want to share every bit of it with my people. Id be great with kids over five, since my zoomies can get a little... enthusiastic, and Id hate to accidentally topple a tiny human in my excitement.

I am kennel trained, and Im extremely sweet and affectionate. Im shy around new people, but I warm up when given a little time. I love tennis balls, and I love to play fetch. I lived with another dog, and we were besties. Wed play together and then wed chill together after a long day. I love car rides and long walks. I consider myself a lap dog, and one of my favorite things to do is give you a hug. I know exactly how to be a great companion to my human. I do get nervous and anxious around men with hats and beards.

What I want most is a family who laughs at my silliness, appreciates my big personality, and gives me the space to run, play, and grow into the amazing companion Im meant to be. If youre looking for a dog who will fill your days with joy, motion, and a whole lot of goofy charm, Im right here waiting to make your home my forever place.

Wanna get Lucky?

xoxo ME
