Story
Cooper Local is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!    Cooper is a joyful Scottish Collie with a big personality! This happy boy has been settling in beautifully, playing well with other dogs and even getting along with the kitty. Cooper is house and crate trained, food motivated, and eager to listen and learn. He loves toys (though squeaky ones still surprise him!), enjoys being brushed, and has a playful streak — recently upgrading from sock thief to full-on footwear collector. Cooper rides well in the car, loves affection and scratches, and would thrive in an active home that can continue working on his leash skills and keep up with his fun-loving energy. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! This medium-energy pup is happy to stretch his legs with a good run but is perfectly content to lounge at your feet or curl up beside you on the sofa. Rainy day? No problem. A quick outing and he's satisfied. Sunny day? He's ready to play. Jericho would do well in a home looking for a devoted companion who bonds deeply with his person and thrives on connection.Jericho does well with other dogs and loves playing with his doggy friends. He seems to prefer female dogs and can be slightly more hesitant when first meeting male dogs, needing time and space to get to know them before becoming friends. He would be perfectly happy as an only dog soaking up all the love. Jericho is best suited for a home without cats. He is a great with kids and was happy to meet 10-year-olds and accompany them on their walk. Jericho is the kind of companion who will follow you from room to room just to be near you!Jericho is incredibly smart and eager to please. He learns quickly and picks up training fast. He doesn't just shake your hand, he salutes you! Jericho is fully crate trained and house trained. He goes willingly into his crate for a treat and stays quiet all night and during the workday. He has had zero accidents since coming north. Jericho walks well on leash and is cooperative, improving quickly because he's such a quick study. This handsome boy is the perfect balance of playful and peaceful, ready for adventure when you are and just as happy to relax by your side. Could he be the one for you? Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. Story
We adopted Queenie 5 years ago. She was found abandoned on a street corner in TX and brought to MA by a rescue. She is sweet, energetic, and loves human attention and our yard. She bonds strongly to her people and thrives with routine and predictability. She may jump up when greeting new people. Queenie has resource guarding tendencies and can be defensive around food and sometimes personal space. She may growl or nip as a warning. Dog conflicts have occurred like when another dog rushes up and barks at her. She has bitten someone only when physically interrupted during a dog conflict. She lives with a 5-year-old and has had no issues. She had TPLO surgery 8/25 fully recovered. She is dog selective and has done well staying with friends with an energetic dog and dogs at family events. The dynamic w/ our reactive Yorkie has increased tension in the home. She would do best with a calm, well-matched dog or an experienced owner who can provide clear expectations and consistent boundaries.

Story
Cody's a great dog full of energy and always wants to play. He loves the outdoors and once he knows you he will follow you everywhere. He is house trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. I would like to find a good a home for him with someone that is experienced dog owner, has a yard so he can run around and play. I will happily bring him out to meet you for a formal introduction. My schedule is hectic so I feel sad that I don't have as much time for him as before. He is loving and carrying he is like family so he needs the same love and carrying from his new family.
