Story
Ira is an (almost) 11-year-old Border Collie mix, though people are routinely surprised when they find out his age! He has the energy of a much younger dog. At 32 pounds, he's big enough to have a real presence but small enough to scoop up as needed. Through no fault of his own, Ira needs a new home as he is not so sure about the toddler in the family.Ira is happiest when he's with YOU. Whether you are looking for a companion for long walks or a buddy to curl up on the couch with (or both!), Ira is your guy. He's a charmer with a stellar track record of winning over dog people and non-dog people alike through his affectionate and snuggly demeanor. Ira is a little smarty-pants who knows his commands (sit, stay, shake, roll over — though he can only roll to his left!).Ira would do best with adults or teenagers only at home. He is uneasy around young children and is leash reactive to other dogs. He has NO major medical issues.

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: YesGood with kids: Yes, dog savvy childrenCrate trained: YesHouse Trained: MostlyMaxine is as sweet as can be, the kind of pup who lights up a room and makes every single day feel brighter. She strikes the perfect balance between playful energy and cuddly companionship that will bring endless smiles and melt your heart. She’s always happy to be part of the action - whether that means romping around the yard, heading out for a walk, or simply hanging out with her favorite humans. With her cheery personality and affectionate nature, Maxine brings a whole lot of joy wherever she goes.Maxine is a friendly girl who truly enjoys the company of others. She loves playing with other dogs and hasn’t had any trouble making new furry friends. She’s also lived peacefully with cats and has done wonderfully with an 8-year-old child, making her a great fit for a family environment. Like many young pups, she can get a little extra excited and may jump up to say hello, but she’s diligently working on her manners and learning quickly with guidance and of course, treats!Maxine is off to a fantastic start with her training and is so close to being fully house trained. She does great in her crate for a few hours during the day and is building a solid routine. She walks nicely on a leash and enjoys getting out to explore, though she’s still developing her doggie confidence. Maxine is eager to learn, responds well to correction, and is already picking up great habits. With her playful spirit, loving heart, and willingness to learn, she’s ready to blossom into an amazing lifelong companion for one lucky family.Ready for a built-in best friend and daily dose of happy? Maxine is waiting to wiggle her way right into your heart. Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. She is a medium energy gal who loves zooming around the backyard with her foster siblings and carrying a small stuffy around in her mouth. She would thrive in a calm, quiet home that will give her the time and space to get comfortable on her own terms. After a little decompression time, Cindy had no issues with any of the resident dogs in her foster home and would do well with a canine sibling. She has shown zero interest in the cats and would do just fine with a feline sibling. She has been great with kids but does best with dog-savvy kids who understand that she needs a calm, gentle approach to feel at ease.Cindy is a smart girl with a sweet soul who is learning to build confidence every day. She is fully crate trained and does great overnight and throughout the day. She is mostly house trained and does best when taken outside immediately after leaving her kennel, and will continue to improve with a consistent routine. Cindy is working on her leash skills and is still building confidence with a leash on. This sweet girl has so much love to give. Could Cindy be the perfect fit for your home? Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line.
