Story
Cassava—“Sava” to those who love her—is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart and then never lets it go. This lovely 3-year-old Border Collie/Basset mix, weighing 34 pounds, is the perfect blend of charm, intelligence, and easygoing companionship.   Sava’s story is one of love and doing the right thing. She was adopted from a local humane society by a young man who adored her, but as life settled in, his long workdays—often 10 to 12 hours at a time—left Sava spending too much time alone. Wanting more for her than he could provide, he searched for help and never gave up until Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in to change the course of her life. Now Sava is ready for her true forever home—and what a gem she is.   She has a beautifully balanced personality: playful when it’s time for fun, but just as happy to relax and cuddle when the day winds down. She enjoys being active and would love regular exercise, but she’s not high-strung or overwhelming. While she’d certainly enjoy having a yard to run in, she’s proven she can adapt to apartment living as long as her physical and mental needs are met. Sava is housebroken and crate trained, and she settles well when crated during longer absences. She’s still polishing her leash skills, but with a little consistency, she’ll be a wonderful walking companion. Like many clever dogs, she has a playful streak—especially when it comes to paper products—so a dog-savvy home setup is always a plus.   When it comes to companionship, Sava checks every box. She’s gentle and loving with children, social and playful with other dogs, and even respectful of cats. Her temperament makes her an easy addition to many types of households.   Sava isn’t just a beautiful dog—she’s the kind of loyal, loving companion who will be by your side through it all, whether you’re out exploring or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home.    If you’ve been searching for a dog who brings together personality, adaptability, and heart, Sava is ready to meet you.   To learn more or request an application, please email: ccrnewengland@gmail.com       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 1, 2026, 12:03 pm

Story
Our extremely handsome Border Collie mix boy is called Bear Bear and he is a little guy who was born around the early week of February and he is ready to energize a new family at their very core.   He is so happy and loving and at 13 weeks he is 13 pounds and on his way to be a 45 pound adult dog.  His ready smile and curious nature are just a joy to behold.  He was brought to the Critter Cavalry Rescue fold and to a foster home after he left his KY Momma who Critter Cavalry paid to have spayed and fully vetted as a gratitude to have the puppies.  Bear Bear is just an engaging and warm little puppy who has a wonderful smile and beautiful markings that promise him to become a handsome Border Collie mix boy who will turn heads.   Bear Bear is still working on potty breaks and almost 1000% there.  He just needs a willing and kind  family who are great at training and being a loving group who are patient. Sweet Bear Bear is a willing soul that wants to be your best friend in life.  He is happy and handsome and in the time of his life to be molded and polished in to a fine and loving companion to a wonderful family. .  If you are ready to take on the role as guide and parent to Bear Bear please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com    He is ready to go NOW! Story
Meet Butters Butters is a playful, expressive Border Collie mix pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s currently working on crate training, potty training, and learning how to walk on a leash—he’s not quite as far along as his other foster buddy Waffles, but he’s making steady progress every day.  Born around Feb. 5th of 2026, this boy is destined to be a very handsome semi-long haired adult boy that will reach the medium range of 50 pounds. One thing you’ll notice right away is that Butters has a lot to say with his voice. He’s more vocal than your average puppy and loves to growl and “talk” during playtime—but it’s all in good fun. It’s just his way of getting into the game and showing his excitement. Butters plays hard with his foster siblings and gets along great with just about everyone—kids, cats, dogs, and adults. He’s social, friendly, and happy to be part of the action. When it’s time to eat, he’s polite and shares his dinner nicely with others.  The Border Collie breed is an active and very intelligent breed of dog.  Butters would benefit from a fenced yard and constant socialization with lots of people and lots of dogs to play with often.  Daily leash walks is great for this breed and it creates such a good bonding time for the owner to establish a closer relationship and affirming the position of who is the leader in the relationship....you and human.  If you’re looking for a fun-loving, energetic pup who will keep you entertained and grow alongside you then Butters could be your perfect match.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue for more information at ccrnewengland@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 1, 2026, 12:03 pm

She is a medium energy gal who loves zooming around the backyard with her foster siblings and carrying a small stuffy around in her mouth. She would thrive in a calm, quiet home that will give her the time and space to get comfortable on her own terms. After a little decompression time, Cindy had no issues with any of the resident dogs in her foster home and would do well with a canine sibling. She has shown zero interest in the cats and would do just fine with a feline sibling. She has been great with kids but does best with dog-savvy kids who understand that she needs a calm, gentle approach to feel at ease.Cindy is a smart girl with a sweet soul who is learning to build confidence every day. She is fully crate trained and does great overnight and throughout the day. She is mostly house trained and does best when taken outside immediately after leaving her kennel, and will continue to improve with a consistent routine. Cindy is working on her leash skills and is still building confidence with a leash on. This sweet girl has so much love to give. Could Cindy be the perfect fit for your home? Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. Story
Coda is a beautiful, intelligent Blue Heeler with a lot of love to give, but she needs the right environment to truly thrive. She would do best in a home without other animals or children, as she values her personal space and can become overwhelmed in busy or unpredictable settings.Coda is very well trained and thrives with structure. She is fully house, leash, and crate-trained. She sleeps comfortably in her crate at night and when left home alone.Making the decision to rehome Coda has been incredibly difficult. I am currently five months pregnant, and I worry about her being around a young child who may not understand boundaries or personal space. My priority is finding her a safe, calm, and loving home where she can continue to grow and feel secure.Once Coda warms up, she is a love bug and incredibly loyal. She needs someone who will be patient with her. Due to her prior abuse, I was told it would be best to put her down rather than place in a shelter. Please help us find her a home

Story
Koda is a rescue Blue Heeler who is incredibly smart, loyal, and affectionate once she builds trust. She comes from an abusive background, so she can be fearful of new people and needs time and patience to feel safe. If approached too quickly, she may snap out of fear, though incidents have only caused minor skin breaks. Koda does best when people respect her space and allow her to initiate contact. She must be the only pet in an adult-only home. She can tolerate visitors as long as they follow her boundaries. She is fully house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and follows commands well. She is very treat-motivated and thrives with structure. As a high-energy breed, she needs regular exercise like walks and fetch.Rehoming her is a very difficult decision due to a baby on the way. She deserves a calm, patient home where she can feel safe and loved. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly sweet, playful, and deeply devoted.
