Story
Cooper Local is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!    Cooper is a joyful Scottish Collie with a big personality! This happy boy has been settling in beautifully, playing well with other dogs and even getting along with the kitty. Cooper is house and crate trained, food motivated, and eager to listen and learn. He loves toys (though squeaky ones still surprise him!), enjoys being brushed, and has a playful streak — recently upgrading from sock thief to full-on footwear collector. Cooper rides well in the car, loves affection and scratches, and would thrive in an active home that can continue working on his leash skills and keep up with his fun-loving energy. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Be sure to check our Facebook page "Rhode Home Rescue" for details on upcoming events and other announcements. March 2, 2026, 7:09 pm March 7, 2026, 1:36 pm

Story
Meet Gingersnap This beautiful girl has quite the story. Gingersnap was found as a stray by a kind street feeder while she was still nursing. Sadly, someone had taken all of her puppies and left her behind, still full of milk. Despite everything she’s been through, Gingersnap has remained incredibly sweet and loving. She’s a dog-friendly girl with a big, happy smile and a gorgeous silky coat that makes her just as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. Gingersnap is a great medium energy pup who enjoys being around other dogs and is a really nice size. She’s food motivated, making her eager to learn, and she’s already doing well walking on a leash. With her gentle personality and affectionate nature, Gingersnap is ready to leave her past behind and find the loving home she truly deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, friendly companion with a heart of gold, Gingersnap might be your girl. 5 yo 40 lbs Collie mix very sweet & dog friendly  altered, microchipped & vaccinated ready for forever in March Apply today!!! *Please note: We're an all-volunteer organization, and incomplete applications cannot be processed.* If you're interested in adopting a GBP rescue PAL, please submit an application through the link below. Story
There are five adorable puppies in our Primrose litter of 10 week old orphans that have just joined our Connecticut Rescue: Claudia, Eliza, Marius, Primrose and Rayne. All the pups in this litter have gentle temperaments and playful, friendly personalities. Despite the chaotic shelter process, these pups have weathered the storm and show no obvious signs of trauma or neglect.  It appears that the pups’ owner unwittingly facilitated an accidental breeding of unaltered adult housemates and then was overwhelmed by puppy love. She offloaded the puppies to a high kill rural North Carolina Shelter, and we were able to transport them to our place in Canterbury, Connecticut.  We have had the puppies DNA tested, and they are a diverse mix of breeds, but 56% of that mix is Collie. The weight range is projected at 40 to 60 pounds, and their working roots suggest that adopters should be prepared to provide a lot of exercise and mental stimulation.  Any of these pups would be an excellent choice for a savvy Working Breed adopter, willing to commit to ongoing training and socialization. They have taken well to basic puppy Positive Reinforcement training techniques and seem to enjoy the learning process. We seek adopters willing to raise them as Canine Good Citizens.  All of these pups could easily join multi-dog homes with older, playful dogs, tolerant of puppy energy. They would thrive with an active single, couple or family with older kids who have been taught to be gentle with young dogs.  All puppies are in excellent health, fully vaccinated and dewormed. If you are interested in one of our Primrose litter mates, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: about 4 months  Weight: 15 lbs. (as of 2/4/26) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Say hello to Chase Theo! She's one of three young puppies in the new Theo litter. She and her siblings look to be Collie mixes, guessing about 4 months old. They've been living in their foster home for a few weeks now, so we don't know a lot about them yet, but so far they seem to be your typical playful puppies! They are all very friendly and have liked everyone they've met so far, while living in a relatively quiet neighborhood and a low-traffic home. The Theo pups like playing with each other and other dogs, and they've been curious and respectful with the cats they've encountered so far. They've been spending their days playing with each other in the yard, chewing on some squeaky toys, and cuddling after a full day of fun. Chase is your classic happy, goofy puppy. She's affectionate and likes to meet new people - she'll probably jump up to say hi when she meets you! She's an excited young dog and still working on some of her manners, housetraining, and leash walking. She does great in her crate and has been staying in it, calm and quiet, for about six hours a day. So far, she seems to be very obedient and we think that with the right training, she'll pick up these other skills in no time. Chase should be in a household that has the time and energy to dedicate to the training a young puppy needs to thrive. Chase is a little more active and bossy than her siblings, but still in a playful, non-aggressive tone. She seems to have more "alpha" qualities and is dominant when playing with other pups, so something to keep in mind if you're considering adopting her into a home with another pet. She is ready for action and we'd recommend she get about 2-4 hours a day of exercise, to keep her mentally and physically stimulated. At the end of the day, a tired dog is a happy dog! A puppy training class would also be great for Chase and her new human(s) to learn some training techniques together.  Chase is a fun-loving, adorable puppy and is ready to find her fur-ever home!  An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 1:37 pm
