Story
Barrett is a super sweet, 11-week-old, 15 pound Collie/Lab mix. He’s a curious little guy who loves to explore—especially when he’s lucky enough to discover some rabbit tracks in the yard! He is very smart and is already doing a fantastic job of going potty outside. He loves puppy playthings, like squeaky toys and tug-of-war ropes. But he also adores relaxing with a chew toy, napping on and off while keeping his foster family company. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Bobby Joe Around 1–2 years old • 35 lbs Rescued from Dallas Animal Services Currently in foster in Danbury, CT Bobby Joe recently saw Dr. Berg for an evaluation as we thought his back legs were a bit off — but he received a clean bill of health Bobby Joe has definitely come out of his shell in the best ways. He is gentle, sweet, affectionate, spunky, and playful. He does need to be on allergy medication as he has a skin condition, but he is a very happy-go-lucky boy. At just 35 lbs, he’s the perfect medium size. He is crate trained and potty trained. Loves other dogs and is great with cats. Not sure about children. He enjoys walks and leisurely explorations. His person just needs to understand that he can be a little shy at the initial meet — but he warms up very quickly and once he does, he just wants to be snuggled. If interested in adopting Bobby Joe please fill out an application below: https://www.trinafriendsk9rescue.org/new-page

Story
Meet Bonnie — a beautiful 3-year-old, 50 lb Collie (and Brody’s best friend) from Mountain City, TN, in search of the forever home she deserves. When a new baby came into the picture, Bonnie was sadly displaced and is now ready for a fresh start with a family who will love her for life. Bonnie and Brody are a BONDED PAIR and will do best if they remain together.  Bonnie is housebroken and has that Collie-type devotion—sweet, loyal, and happiest when she’s included as part of the family. She previously lived alongside Brody and their bond is incredibly special. Bonnie will thrive with adopters who understand how much these dogs value connection and routine. Good news for cat households: Bonnie has been cat tested and, with a proper slow introduction, should do fine coexisting with feline friends. Bonnie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready for adoption through Eleventh Hour Rescue. Interested? Apply today at ehrdogs.org. Story
Meet Brody — a gorgeous Collie, 5 years old from Mountain City, TN hoping to find the forever home he deserves. When a new baby came into the picture, Brody was sadly given the boot. Now he’s ready for a fresh start with a family who will treat him like a lifelong commitment, not a phase. Brody is a BONDED PAIR with Bonnie RDS Brody is housebroken, sweet, and has that classic Collie loyalty—these dogs bond deeply with “their people” and truly want to be part of your everyday life. He also lived with his best friend, Bonnie and we’d love to see them land in homes that understand how special that bond can be. Brody has also been introduced to feline friends (see the one picture with cats behind him), and with a proper, slow introduction, would most likely do fine cohabiting with them. You may notice Brody is missing a toe from an old injury he sustained when he got stuck in a trap, but it’s already healed and doesn’t stop him from being the loving, happy dog he is. Brody is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to start his new chapter. Think you might be his person? Apply today at ehrdogs.org. (function () { // Only on animal detail pages if (!/\/animals\/detail/i.test(location.pathname)) return; // Debounce to avoid double-fire (touchend + click, etc.) var lastNavAt = 0; function toFullSize(url) { try { var u = new URL(url, location.href); u.searchParams.delete('width'); u.searchParams.delete('height'); return u.toString(); } catch (e) { return url || ''; } } function looksLikeAnimalPhoto(url) { return /\/pictures\/animals\/\d+\/\d+\/[^?#]+\.(jpg|jpeg|png|gif)/i.test(url || ''); } function handler(e) { var el = e.target; if (!el) return; // Find the closest anchor or image in the click path var a = el.closest ? el.closest('a') : null; var img = el.closest ? el.closest('img') : null; var url = ''; // Prefer anchor href if it points to an animal photo if (a && a.getAttribute) { var href = a.getAttribute('href') || ''; if (href && (href.indexOf('/pictures/animals/') !== -1 || looksLikeAnimalPhoto(href))) { url = href; } } // Otherwise fall back to the image src if (!url && img && img.getAttribute) { var src = img.getAttribute('src') || ''; if (src && (src.indexOf('/pictures/animals/') !== -1 || looksLikeAnimalPhoto(src))) { url = src; } } if (!url) return; // Absolute URL + full-size version try { url = new URL(url, location.href).toString(); } catch (_) {} url = toFullSize(url); // Stop PrettyPhoto (and any other delegated click handlers) e.preventDefault(); e.stopPropagation(); if (e.stopImmediatePropagation) e.stopImmediatePropagation(); // Debounce var now = Date.now(); if (now - lastNavAt < 500) return; lastNavAt = now; // SAME TAB navigation to the full-size image location.href = url; } // Capture phase is the key: we get the event before PrettyPhoto.
