Story
Age: 11 months as of July 6, 2026 Weight: 24 pounds Special skill: Selective hearing. Except it's not selective- I'm actually deaf! Hi! I'm Leo, and while i can't hear you say, "Who's a good boy?" I'm pretty sure you're talking about me anyway. I communicate with hand signals, belly rubs, treats, and your happy face. (Especially the treats.) I'm 24 pounds of zoomies, silliness, and pure joy. I love to play make new friends and keep everyone laughing with my goofy personality. Being deaf doesn't slow me down one bit-it just means i don't have to listen when the neighbor's dog is gossiping. I'm looking for a family who will love me for exactly who i am and help me continue learning. I promise to fill your home with laughter, love, and plenty of puppy shenanigans. So... what do you say? I can't hear your answer, but i can definitely see you filling out that adoption application! He is at the perfect age to learn, bond, and become a loyal companion for years to come. Whether its playtime, cuddle time, or learning new tricks, he is eager to be part of a family who will guide him as he grows. If you're looking to add a happy, loving pup to your life, he could be the perfect match. If you ever wanted a roommate who has no concept of personal space and thinks everything is a game, he is your boy. Adopt him before he learns how powerful he really is! If you're interested in making him part of your family, please fill out an application on our website or send us an email with any questions. We can't wait to hear from you! Story
Meet Tego, the dog who never stopped believing in people

Tego is a sweet, resilient 4,5- year-old, 42-lb boy with a calm spirit and a kind heart. Gentle, thoughtful, and quietly curious, he approaches the world with confidence and gratitude.
Tego loves people and wants nothing more than to be by your side. Whether he’s out enjoying a walk, exploring new places, or curling up for cuddles afterward, he’s happiest when he’s with his humans. Tego is currently being fostered with a busy family in New York and has adapted beautifully to their active household. He is comfortable with a steady stream of visitors and is equally friendly and affectionate with both men and women. Tego’s story is one of resilience. As a young dog, he was found abandoned on the streets by a kind-hearted local man who already cared for eight dogs. Wanting to give Tego a better chance, he brought him to our partner rescue, SOS el Arca Animal Rescue, where Tego spent nearly three years waiting for a family of his own. During those years, Tego watched other dogs leave the shelter while he stayed behind. Day after day, month after month, he waited patiently for someone to notice him. Puppies are often adopted quickly, while wonderful adult dogs like Tego are too often overlooked. Thankfully, Tego was welcomed into an incredible foster home that prefers to foster adult dogs, giving them the chance they so often miss. For the first time in years, he has experienced the love, attention, daily walks, and family life every dog deserves. His foster family adores him and says he is more than ready to find a forever home of his own. Once Tego is adopted, they will be able to open their home to another deserving adult dog, giving another overlooked pup the same life-changing opportunity. Tego is grounded, gentle, and deeply affectionate. He forms strong bonds with the people who care for him and absolutely adores his foster family. There is something incredibly calming about him—his beautiful eyes are full of kindness, trust, and quiet wisdom. Despite everything he has been through, he greets every new person with a wagging tail, a hopeful smile, and an open heart. He would make an exceptional companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend. Tego thrives on human companionship and lights up whenever he receives affection. Because he is confident, adaptable, and easygoing, he could thrive in a city apartment or a quieter suburban home. He gets along well with other dogs and is respectful of cats, making him a wonderful addition to many different types of families. He would be happy living with another friendly dog or as the only dog, soaking up all the love and attention. Anyone who gives Tego a chance will be rewarded with a deeply devoted companion. He is the kind of once-in-a-lifetime dog who never forgets kindness and will spend every day showing his gratitude through unwavering love and loyalty.
Tego is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, 4DX- tested, dewormed, on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, and crate trained.

If youre looking for a gentle soul who will truly appreciate the home you give him, Tego may be the perfect match.

Please fill out our adoption application at sosanimalwelfare.org and email it to sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com with any questions.

Tego is ready for his fresh start and for a family who will never let him feel abandoned again.

Story
Meet Moby Moby is a 2 year, 8 month old Australian Cattle Dog weighing about 50 lbs. He is a neutered male who is both crate trained, leash trained and house trained, and he knows basic commands like sit and down and comes when called. Moby is a friendly, affectionate dog with new people. He enjoys attention, belly rubs, and is comfortable being pet by neighbors. For this reason, Moby will need an experienced adopter or foster who understands herding breeds and is comfortable continuing behavior work and setting clear boundaries. His breed does best with a fenced yard so his home will need to have one.  Dogs: Selective; does best depending on size Cats: Unknown Children: Unknown Moby would likely thrive in a structured, adult-only home with consistent leadership, breed experience, and a commitment to helping him succeed. With the right environment and guidance, Moby will be a loyal, loving companion.  He desperately needs a foster. He is not doing well in boarding, he has been there for months.    To adopt Moby  please apply at www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application using a laptop or computer        If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Meet Riley!
Riley is a 2-year-old, 55 lb Cattle Dog/Lab mix with a heart full of love and a spirit that shines through her special needs. She has hearing challenges. Despite it all, Riley is active, friendly, and incredibly affectionate. She loves walks, cuddle time, and sticking close to her people and doggy pals.  Riley is a silly, sleepy, lazy, happy, and loving girl. She’s food-motivated (frozen peanut butter Kongs = pure joy!), loves running happy circles in the yard or dog parks, and adores dogs, cats, kids—pretty much everyone. She’s a sucker for chest scratches and cuddling under blankets. She may be deaf, she may hate baths and swimming, but she’s a wonderfully quirky girl who brings so much love. Once Riley finds her “spot,” she sticks to it forever. Riley is house trained, spayed, loves humans and dogs and even puts herself in her crate to nap.  Here is what her foster says about Riley: Riley has learned how to sit, lie down, come and no - by using sign language. Also she loves napping in her crate and sleeps wonderfully there through the night. Low maintenance dog. Sits before eating or receiving treats. It would be wonderful for her to have a doggy sibling to love on.  Riley needs a fenced-in yard and a patient adopter willing to continue training a deaf dog. In return, she’ll give you endless love, loyalty, and joy. If you’re looking for a truly special companion—Riley is your girl. To apply to adopt Riley go to www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application on a laptop or computer.    If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG!
