Story
Meet our gentle soul, Mollie! She came to us in need of veterinary care after being surrendered from a desperate situation. She doesn't let her past bring her down and is the sweetest. She is looking for a foster or foster to adopt home while she awaits her spay, once she is healthy enough. She will be microchipped, and is up to date on age appropriate vaccines. She is available for meet and greets, by appointment. If you think she may be a match for your family please fill out a foster or adoption application! Applications are available at our location as well as online at petpantrylc.org. From there, our adoption coordinator will be in touch!August 7, 2026, 12:15 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Addie is a sweet Collie mix with a heart of gold! This quiet, easygoing girl is well-behaved, crate- and house-trained, and great with kids. She loves meeting new people, is excellent on a leash, and always impresses everyone with her calm, friendly demeanor. Addie would thrive in a home with another dog to be her fur friend and a securely fenced yard where she can safely play and explore. She’s truly a plug-and-play dog ready to find her forever family and share a lifetime of love and adventures. REQUIREMENTS: Fenced Yard, Another DogVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Koda and Niko have been together their whole lives and we are not going to separate them. :) Niko LOVES to give kisses and Koda likes to lay on the couch and get tons of cuddles! Niko is a shepherd mix and he is 7. Koda is a border collie mix and he is 10. They both love to play in the field and roll around so a fenced yard would be ideal. Since Koda is older he is not a fan of younger dogs and the high energy so this pair may do best as the only dogs in the house :)) REQUIRES- Fenced YardVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. Story
Hi, I’m Aspen! I came to the shelter from a large hoarding case, so the world was a pretty scary place at first. Thanks to my amazing foster family, I’m learning that people can be kind and that life can be a lot of fun! Once I trust you, I’m a loving, playful, goofy girl who loves playing with other dogs, tossing around my favorite stuffed toys (especially if I can remove the stuffing!), and zooming around the yard. I’m still building confidence with new people, especially men, so I’m looking for a patient family that will let me move at my own pace and celebrate all my little victories. I’m making great progress with leash walking and house training, and having another friendly dog to show me the ropes would be a huge bonus. If you have a little patience and a lot of love, I promise I'll reward you with endless affection, silly puppy antics, and the joy of watching me continue to blossom into the wonderful dog I was always meant to be. 3159 Susquehanna Trail N York PA 17406 Kennel #3537

Story
Hi, I’m Lacey! My story started in a large hoarding case where I arrived at the shelter caring for 11 puppies, including several that weren't even my own. After helping raise every one of them into happy, healthy pups, it's finally my turn to find a family of my own. While my puppies have all found homes, I'm still waiting for mine. I can be shy when meeting new people because so much of the world is still new to me, but underneath that cautious exterior is the sweetest, goofiest girl you'll ever meet. I love spending time outside, carrying my favorite toys around the yard, following my favorite people from room to room, and curling up in my cozy crate after a fun day. Other confident dogs bring out the very best in me, so I'm looking for a home that has another dog who would be playful and show me the ropes. I'm incredibly smart, curious, potty trained, crate trained, and learning more every day. My perfect home will be patient, gentle, and willing to let me build trust at my own pace. Watching me come out of my shell is something truly special, and I promise that once you earn my trust, you'll have a loyal, silly, loving best friend for life. 3159 Susquehanna Trail N York PA 17406 Kennel #3537

Good with dogs,
Story
Hi, I’m Windsor. I came to the shelter from a large hoarding case, and while many of my friends have started coming out of their shells, I'm still trying to figure this whole world out. The shelter has been a hard place for me, and even after spending time here, I'm still very shut down. I’m not aggressive—I’m just scared. When I go outside, my favorite place is quietly sitting on a bench where I can watch the world go by. I enjoy gentle pets once I feel safe, and I’ll even relax enough to lay down while someone calmly sits with me. I’ve met some of the dogs I lived with before coming to the shelter, and while I coexist peacefully with them, I’m still too overwhelmed to really engage. What I need more than anything is a calm, patient home that understands healing can't be rushed. My adopter will need to celebrate the smallest victories and let me build confidence at my own pace. A quiet home, a predictable routine, and someone willing to love me exactly where I am today will give me the best chance to finally become the dog I was always meant to be. My journey may take longer than most, but I promise I'll be worth the wait. 3159 Susquehanna Trail N York PA 17406 Kennel #:3537
