Story
Some of the very best dogs aren’t the ones who rush up to say hello—they’re the ones whose trust is earned, little by little, until one day you realize you’ve become their whole world. That’s Wintermint, lovingly called Winter by his foster family. Beneath his naturally timid nature is a playful, joyful young dog with a sleek, petite build and striking good looks, just waiting for the right person to help him continue growing into his confidence. Winter didn’t have the opportunity to learn that people could be trusted when he was young. After arriving from South Carolina, the world felt big and overwhelming. But in the safety of his foster home, he’s been quietly rewriting that story. Today, the shy puppy who once wasn’t sure about people has blossomed into the life of the party—at least with the ones he knows best. In his foster home, Winter races around the yard, wrestles with his dog friends, investigates every interesting smell, and greets each day with enthusiasm. Once he learns a routine, he follows it like clockwork, and because he’s incredibly food motivated, he’s eager to learn and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement. If there’s one thing that makes Winter’s eyes truly light up, it’s other dogs. They are his comfort, his confidence, and his favorite companions. He looks to them for reassurance, joins in every game, and simply seems happiest when he has a canine buddy by his side. For that reason, he’ll do best in a home with another confident, playful dog who can help him settle in and continue showing him that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. Meeting new people is still something Winter approaches cautiously. He may hang back, duck behind his person, or inch close enough to investigate before deciding he’s not quite ready for pets yet. It’s not stubbornness—it’s simply his gentle, submissive nature taking time to process something new. Once he feels safe, though, you can almost watch his confidence grow a little more each day. Winter is naturally sensitive to loud noises, unfamiliar places, and big changes, so he’s looking for a family that understands that confidence isn’t built overnight. He’ll thrive with patient people who can let him move at his own pace while also encouraging him to take those important little steps forward. He’s already making wonderful progress with leash walking in quieter areas and will continue to flourish with consistency and encouragement. A quieter neighborhood will help make his transition easier, and while a fenced yard isn’t required, it would certainly be a wonderful bonus for a dog who loves being outside. Watching Winter discover that the world is safe is one of those experiences that stays with you. Every small victory feels enormous because you know how much courage it took to get there. The family who chooses him won’t just be adopting a beautiful dog—they’ll have the incredible privilege of helping him continue to bloom into the dog he’s meant to be. And they won’t have to do it alone. His foster family and our rescue are happy to provide guidance and support every step of the way. If you’re looking for a dog whose greatest joy is playing with his canine friends, exploring the outdoors, and building a once-in-a-lifetime bond with the person willing to believe in him, Winter is waiting. Wintermint is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to join a family! www.mostlymuttz.org Link to Wintermint’s bio: https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2676422&name=Wintermint Wintermint is in our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with him, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending. To get started, email meet_me@mostlymuttz.org with your contact information and Wintermint’s name, and his foster or volunteer will be in touch. #mostlymuttzrescue #adoptabledogs #adoptme ##2676422##

Story
KENNEL ID #18804Meet Molly, Molly is a beautiful, energetic young girl weighing approximately 40 pounds and is likely an Australian Kelpie mix (best guess). She is around 1 year old and full of potential. Molly was found abandoned at a church, where a kind neighbor stepped in to give her a flea bath and make sure she was fed. When she came into rescue, she was in heat and was spayed right away. She does great with structure and routine. Molly sleeps inside a kennel overnight with no accidents, uses a dog door confidently, and is kenneled next to another dog. While they may bark at each other at times, there is no aggression. Because of her youthful energy and Australian Kelpie breed traits. This breed is known for being absolutely a brilliant, high-energy dogs were bred for herding in the rugged Australian outback - and it shows!* Kelpie Highlights: Super Smart - Quick learners and love a challenge. High Energy - Always ready to go, go, go! Great for an active family. Molly would do best in a home with older children. She walks nicely on leash and actually seems calmer when leashed. She already knows how to sit on command, is very smart, and is highly trainable—she’s going to thrive with continued guidance and enrichment. Molly is ready for a committed home that will help her channel her energy and continue her training so she can be the amazing dog she’s meant to be. ❤️ Molly is hanging out with her foster mom, Carol, in Tennessee. Story
KENNEL ID #18804Sidney and his sister Cookie were rescued from a high-kill shelter in Greene County, TN, where overcrowding forces heartbreaking decisions every day. Some were strays never reclaimed. Others were surrendered by their families — and sadly, owner surrenders are the first to be euthanized, as they receive no stray hold. Thankfully, our rescue partner in Tennessee stepped in just in time, saving 15 incredible dogs from the “last call” list. Each has now received full veterinary care and is preparing for a fresh start in PA. Despite their past, these dogs are full of hope and heart. Could this survivor be your new best friend? Story
KENNEL ID #18804Mason is a gentle, sensitive soul who’s learning that the world can be kind again. He’s currently in a foster home in Tennessee with his brother, Monty, and does well with other dogs. Mason is still shy with people—especially men—which is completely understandable given his past. Life on the streets followed by a stay in a high-kill shelter taught him to be cautious, but despite everything he’s been through, Mason has never shown aggression. With patience, consistency, and love, Mason continues to make progress every day. He’ll need a calm, understanding home that allows him to build trust at his own pace. He’s still working on basic training and would benefit from gentle guidance and routine. Mason is an athletic boy and will jump or climb a fence if left unattended, so a secure yard and supervision are important. In return, you’ll gain a loyal companion who just needs someone willing to show him that he’s finally safe. If you have a soft spot for the quiet ones and believe in second chances, Mason may be the perfect fit for you.  Mason is hanging out with his rescuer and foster mom, Carol, in Tennessee.
