🐾 Looking for a Loving Home for My Border Collie (Almost 6 Years Old) I’m looking for a wonderful new home for my Border Collie, whom I’ve had since May 2020. Due to selling my home and moving into a much smaller apartment, I unfortunately won’t be able to give him the space and stimulation he deserves. 🐶 About Him Breed: Border Collie Age: Almost 6 Temperament: Very energetic, playful, and affectionate Training: Crate trained Knows basic commands (sit, lay down, paw) Good With: Kids – raised around them his whole life Other dogs – lived with another dog for years Behavior: High-energy and loves to play fetch Gets anxious meeting new people but has never shown aggression 🏡 Ideal Home He would thrive with: Someone who can keep up with his energy A home with a backyard Another dog to play with Someone familiar with active breeds ❤️ Why I’m Rehoming This is not a decision I take lightly. He’s an amazing dog, but my upcoming living space is just too small.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Image growing up in a yard with a human throwing you food over a fence and pouring water in your already dirty water day after day.  The human never touched you or the other three dogs in the yard and you lived outside like this summer, winter spring and fall until finally 8 years into your life someone reported your owner to the authorities and they finally came to save you!  You found yourself placed in a box separate from the only friends you had ever known.  Taken to a noisy shelter, poked, probed, bathed and then stuck in a kennel alone.  WOW SCARY right???  Well that was the experience for Max's, his best friend Moose and his 2 other fur buddies.  Unfortunately the oldest of the 4 was quite ill and passed away :(   The other one was adopted and seems to be doing well.  Max's was very shut down until the shelter staff placed him with Moose and then they saw Max's come back to life!   We couldn't allow Max's to lose the only friend he has ever had on this earth so we are taking both boys and they will only be adopted as a bonded pair with a contract signed that they will NOT be separated!! Max's & Moose will have to learn to live in a home, walk on a leash and understand what it is like to be valued and actually LOVED by a human.  If you would like to be considered for the boys please fill out an adoption application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.11/25/25 Trager is the last available pup of his litter! He is about 4 months old, will be medium size once grown, likely 35-45 lbs. We were told that mom is Border Collie/Mini Aussie mix and dad is Beagle mix. Trager does not seem to be high energy even with that breed combo! He’s pretty chill. He does not seem to show any herding tendencies either. He is smart, friendly pup. He is doing well with off leash training. Trager is working on house training. He enjoys walks with his foster dad and playing with his foster brother. Sometimes he goes to work with his foster mom (a therapist) and he’s such a good boy with the patients! He is good with other dogs, cats, and kids. For more info or questions, message us or email apps.aasr@gmail.com To apply to adopt, click this link:https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 In New England He is neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350.
