Story
Urgent foster/rehome needed! We have housed Panda for 3 months since mom entered a home. We love Panda, known her for 6 years. Unfortunately, she is no longer a safe fit with our 4 young children, and our home environment is too stressful for her. Panda is a wonderful companion. She is loving, loyal, and happiest with “her people." Ever near and ready for belly rubs and snuggles.Panda Intro Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/DzkntQNhBOI?feature=sharePanda Pros• People‑loving, sweet, playful• Reliably house & crate trained• Smart, trainable, enjoys walks/attentionPanda Concerns• Very nervous due to unknown pre-adoption events (cautious but non-agressive)• Not socialized with other dogs/cats• Food aggressive/territorial tendencies.Full transparency (no surprises):• She bit someone once last month (first time ever) - unfamiliar person tried to take a mouse she caught.Best Fit: • Adults or later teen children.• Single‑dog home• Needs a calm, patient person willing to work on training

A goddess, a warrior… Athena - 1 year old, female mixed breed - Confident, playful, affectionate - Free hugs! - Lovingly melts into her people - Friendly with other dogs, or would be content as your one and only - Smart cookie and good listener - Blind in her left eye from suspected trauma prior to joining us (currently taking eye drops) - Crate trained and housebroken - Cats: kitty approved - Her ideal household would have no children under 8 years old, as she is a herding breed mix and may attempt to herd littles - Looking for an active family who will include her in all of life’s adventures If you think Athena could be a fit for your household, please click over to www.pittieslovepeace.com to submit your online application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Image growing up in a yard with a human throwing you food over a fence and pouring water in your already dirty water day after day.  The human never touched you or the other three dogs in the yard and you lived outside like this summer, winter spring and fall until finally 8 years into your life someone reported your owner to the authorities and they finally came to save you!  You found yourself placed in a box separate from the only friends you had ever known.  Taken to a noisy shelter, poked, probed, bathed and then stuck in a kennel alone.  WOW SCARY right???  Well that was the experience for Max's, his best friend Moose and his 2 other fur buddies.  Unfortunately the oldest of the 4 was quite ill and passed away :(   The other one was adopted and seems to be doing well.  Max's was very shut down until the shelter staff placed him with Moose and then they saw Max's come back to life!   We couldn't allow Max's to lose the only friend he has ever had on this earth so we are taking both boys and they will only be adopted as a bonded pair with a contract signed that they will NOT be separated!! Max's & Moose will have to learn to live in a home, walk on a leash and understand what it is like to be valued and actually LOVED by a human.  If you would like to be considered for the boys please fill out an adoption application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Marcy is a sweet girl who loves people. She does not like to play with other dogs and not really interested in playing with toys. Marcy may be better in a home were shes the only dog. She truly is the sweetest and she LOVES attention, she is one where she will be just happy to lay on the couch with you while watching TV and going for walks :)  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. Story
Ophelia is a 4 month old spayed female puppy who weighs about 20 pounds. We were told that they are cavalier/bernese/border collie/aussie/poodle/pomeranian AKA total mutts that we expect to be medium sized dogs. These puppies are super cute, social and love attention. They have started working on potty training, crate training and have tested great with other dogs. Do you have room in your heart and home for an adorable pup?!
