Meet Amber, a girl whose name couldn’t be more fitting. Just like the soft glow of amber itself, she radiates warmth, comfort, and a gentle kind of joy that reaches you the moment you meet her. At 2 years old and 65 pounds, this gorgeous Collie mix is the very definition of a loving companion—sweet, affectionate, and always hoping to be close enough for you to feel the steady beat of her loyal heart. Amber’s story began in a tiny rural community, where she wandered alone until kind locals stepped in to help her. No one came forward to claim her, but maybe that’s because her real family is still out there—someone who will recognize that she was meant for them. When Critter Cavalry Rescue brought her in, they immediately saw it: her remarkable intelligence, her eagerness to bond, and her gentle, soulful spirit. Amber enjoys every simple pleasure with pure gratitude—exploring the world on her harness, leaning in for affection, and curling up with her beloved stuffed bunny, who has become her constant companion. She loves being brushed, loves being talked to, and really loves being included. Amber gets along with other dogs, though her enthusiasm may be a bit much for calmer companions. As for cats… well, they’re a little mysterious and intimidating to her. But people? She adores them—wholeheartedly. This beautiful girl is ready to become someone’s heart dog… that once-in-a-lifetime companion who fills a home with warmth, softness, and quiet devotion. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! UPDATE FROM FOSTER Addie aka "DD" is roughly a 1-2 year old collie mix.  Addie is a sweet, quiet southern girl with a heart of gold!!!  Such an easy going, well behaved, sweet dog!  Everyone who has met Addie has complimented her on her demeanor.  She is so well mannered!!!  Traveled with her foster dad to many public places and loves meeting new people.  Crated & housetrained, good with kids, great on a leash.  She is the true plug and play dog!!  Addie would love to finally find her forever home this year! Well Helloooooo! My name is Addison, and OH MY DOG, am I happy!!! 2nd Chance busted me out of that scary place they call a shelter. I heard them say I was on the “euth list” — at first, I thought maybe that was like some kind of award? You know, like the Dean’s List? NOPE. Turns out, it’s more like permanently expelled… from life. So yeah, I was pretty pumped to hit the road! Me and my brother loaded up into this big ol’ van with a bunch of our new buddies. It was a loooong ride, but honestly? No complaints! We had fans blowing cool air on us, soft blankets to snooze on, and — best part — it didn’t smell like 1,000 wet dogs. #luxury Then we arrived at this magical place where people called fosters were waiting to meet us. And guess what?? We each get our OWN foster families! I feel like I just won Pup Idol. So yeah… something tells me I’m gonna LOVE the North. With new people, Holly may seem big and serious at first, but she warms up quickly and shows her gentle, affectionate side. Ice cubes and tasty treats are her absolute favorites and a great way to win her heart!She is great on a leash!! She has not bee around other animals or kids, but her young age and personality suggests she would be ok.She is located in Houston, TX and can be transported to most states for a $300 fee.

Meet Arlo 🐾 Arlo is a 1.5-year-old mix (there is definitely some border collie in there!) with a big personality, a happy heart, and energy for days! Smart, affectionate, and eager to please, Arlo loves learning new things and being your right-hand (or paw) man. If you enjoy an active lifestyle, Arlo is ready to be your adventure buddy. He is fully potty trained, up to date on all vaccinations, and already neutered, so he’s all set and ready for his forever home. Arlo has lots of energy and lives for a good full-speed run. Arlos perfect furever home does have a fenced in yard with enough space so he can zoom, explore, and then happily race back to you with a big grin. He will need an active family who is willing to commit to making sure he gets regular exercise! He is working on his leash walking skills and is getting there! Like many young, playful dogs, Arlo is still learning about appropriate playtime antics and will need a strong leader who is willing and ready to work with him in harnessing his excitement! With his intelligence and desire to please, basic obedience training would be a great way to help him shine even brighter. Arlo isn’t much of a barker. He won’t react to doorbells or knocking, but he will adorably let you know when he wants playtime, more water, or a potty break. One of his funniest quirks? Water! Arlo loves it so much he’ll try to sneak into the shower while it’s running—just in case it turns into a pool party. 🚿🐶 Arlo is currently being fostered in Wernersville and would need to meet potential adopters to make sure it’s a great match for everyone. Alro wouldn't mind having a canine playmate to romp around with in the yard, or could be a one and only dog in the right family. He is currently being fostered with yonger children and doesn't mind them as long as they are ready to play too!
