You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Wheezy was surrendered to the shelter when her owner became ill and could no longer care for her. At 8 years old the shelter must be quite a scary place. She is a corgi mix who is 16 pounds.  Wheezy was very happy to get out of the shelter with us and cuddled up for a nice ride home.  She is good with both dogs and cats. Wheezy is well behaved in the home and can be left home without being destructive. Best news of all - she is house broken. She is a great girl and looking for a second chance family of her own. Wheezy has recently been diagnosed with Cushing disease which is being treated with daily medication. She is doing great with it and will make a wonderful pet for a lucky family    If interested please fill out an adoption application online at njshpetrescue.org  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 1, 2024, 1:37 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Adoption Pending *** We cannot imagine how such a small young puppy was wandering all alone in a South Jersey neighborhood but that’s exactly what happened. Nugget was only 2-3 months old when he was found by animal control and brought to the shelter. Nugget was given veterinary care at the shelter and given his first round of shots. Nugget is only 9 pounds and has short legs but looks like a shepherd mix. We aren’t exactly sure what breed he is but he surely is cuddly and fun like all puppies are!! Nugget is in a loving foster home and will be neutered by us. He is looking for a loving family who will make sure he is never left on his own again!! Please submit an application if interested in little Nugget at NJSHpetrescue.org. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 1, 2024, 1:37 pm

Story
Jolene was surrendered by her owner when they were evicted and had to move in with family. She was a little sad and confused but now that she has been with her foster for a few weeks she is coming back into her own. She is a full package of snuggles and a really good little girl. She will sit next to you and watch TV or happily go out riding around town and is always up for a belly rub. Just wants to be with her people. She has had children and other dogs at her other family, and she has very good house manners. She just needs stability and love to be the great dog we know she can be. Jolene is up to date on her shots and has been spayed and microchipped. All she needs now is you! Just press the big button marked "Ask About Me" and we will get you the information on how to make Jolene a part of your family. NOTE: Jolene is being fostered in Tennessee but will be transported to your area by the most animal animal-friendly transport on the road - Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Molly is the sweetest girl, is loving life at her foster home with her canine friends, being spoilt and running around in the yard. She's active, like any puppy is, and loves to be outdoors. She's the goofiest mix of unknown breeds. Molly in her brief life has gone through incredible trauma. At only a few months old she was dropped at at the owner's family member's house but those people hadn't asked for a dog nor did they care for it. So they kept her like a cat with the resident cat - not taking her outside. Ever. Then, when she was 9 months old they stuffed her in a rolling grocery bag (because poor Molly was so terrified that she didn't want to walk) and dumped her at the very scary, big and noisy Manhattan shelter. There she was out of her mind scared and wouldn't not walk. At all. She had to be carried to be taken into the yard and once there she'd still be a statue. Then just before Christmas someone paid a deposit to adopt her - but never picked her up. So as soon as that waiting period was over we went to get her. And oh was she one happy pup when she arrived at her foster home! She's now not only learning how to be a happy puppy and being well cared for but also all the ins and outs of good dog behavior. She still has a little anxiety but that's only understandable after everything she's gone through.

Story
Luna is the sweetest, cutest dog, but can be a touch timid to start, with some new folks. So cool looking and super affectionate, Luna is smart and friendly and eager to please. She does well in any situation and we can cat test. Luna is bouncy and silly and wants to be with you all the time. Truly just the cutest little family dog, in need of her own family. A fenced yard is a must. She is about 2 years old and 35 lbs at most. ADORABLE! (IF YOU DO NOT GET A REPLY EMAIL WITHIN 24 HOURS, CHECK YOUR SPAM BOX AND SEND US YOUR PHONE NUMBER, FOR WE REPLY EVERY FEW HOURS TO EMAILS) PREGNANT DOG RESCUE/LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER is a private, in home, all breed rescue facility, specializing in pregnant dogs, moms with newborns, and small or medium adult dogs (we take in pregnant dogs, we do not adopt out pregnant dogs).  We exist only on the kindness of your donations and adoptions!  (We often have puppies and moms not listed on the site, for they might be too young at the moment to list, so please, contact us to be sure of our available pups!)  We pride ourselves on being an HOLISTIC center and feed only holistic foods and various vitamins and supplements to all of our dogs. PREGNANT DOG And ALL BREED RESCUE/LOVABLE MUTTS ADOPTION CENTER puppies are well socialized, very friendly, and in wonderful health. Our Puppies are current on vaccines, wormed, and extremely well cared for from birth - most even know how to use a dog door by the time they leave us!  They are friendly and social and very affectionate!  We stand by our pups/dogs, and give 10 days for a refund and almost always take our dogs back at any age of their lives (often depends on dog)! PDR/LMAC has an application screening process.  All applicants are asked to provide vet references, personal references, and a home visit.  We pride ourselves in matching up the right dog with the right home.  Sometimes this happens quickly and sometimes it might take awhile.  We hope you understand and are willing to wait for the perfect pup for your situation. We reserve the right to turn applicants down and to change our mind about a suitable match, for we are only concerned about what is best for our dogs.  Also note that we arrange our visiting hours around your schedule, as this is a private, in home facility.  We respond to all inquiries promptly, so if you have any trouble sending us an email, or have not heard back from us within 24 hours, please, CONTACT US AGAIN and check your spam!  (We all know how emails can be at times!) Our dogs are spayed or neutered (if old enough), up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm and Lyme tested, and free of fleas and ticks.  We temperament test our  dogs and they are all suitable for many family situations. Our dogs are well mannered, know some basic commands, and are usually housebroken within a week of being with us (if old enough).  They are in our family/home situation at this time (not in kennels or crates, although most are crate trained) and are worked with daily.  All of our dogs do well with other dogs and many do well with cats. Adoption donations vary with age, breed, vetting, and training of the dog, and range from $250 to $595 (most being $595).  (We do not tend to place puppies or small dogs with kids under 6 and reserve the right to match who WE feel would be the best homes for our dogs.)  May 2, 2024, 12:09 pm

Story
Get ready to meet the stunning Jasper! Jasper is a 1-year-old Corgi/Australian Shepherd mix and is fully grown at about 25 lbs. Jasper was rescued from a kill shelter in Swainsboro, GA where his time was dwindling simply because he was heartworm positive. Luckily for Jasper, Home for Good does not stray away from the 'harder' cases and immediately took him in. Jasper has been treated for Heartworm Disease and is now ready to find his forever family! Jasper is a very loving and attentive boy. He loves to sit for affection and of course, a few treats. Jasper loves to go on daily walks throughout the neighborhood and meet any new people he can. He would be the best dog waiting at the bus stop or trips in the car for a coffee ( and a pup cup for Jasper of course). Jasper is primarily housebroken and sleeps quietly throughout the night. He prefers his very own spot in bed or a super comfy dog bed. Jasper loves to play with his variety of friends. Kids, dogs, cats, Jasper loves to be around them all! He has been loving life in foster and has gotten a glimpse into what his forever family and life can look like - he is beyond excited to find his forever family! Apply on our site today to begin your adoption application for Jasper! Jasper is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. Given the conditions Jasper originated from, upon rescue, he tested positive for Heartworm disease. Thanks to Home for Good Dog Rescue, Jasper has completed his Heartworm treatment. *Heartworm disease is a serious and if left untreated, fatal disease. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected animals, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs in the body. Mosquitoes are carriers of heartworms and have the ability to infect dogs all year round, especially in the Southeastern portion of the United States and during the summer months.* **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. All adoption applications must be completed on www.hfgdr.org** HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life! In order to apply for adoption and set up an individual meet and greet with one of our dogs, please visit us at www.hfgdr.org. Find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/HomeForGoodDogRescue.
