Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of the midwest. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. They were one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total of 17 lives of mums, dads & puppies including Burt & his siblings. His sister Missy was already adopted & Burt is with Ernie his brother who he is fostered with. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Burt how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home. Burt & his friends & siblings were bought back to the WA state where he is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. In the corgi world of puppies, Burt is such a gentle, sweet, goes with the flow aloof little guy. Don’t get us wrong, he has his spurts of energy where he will run & play & be very goofy. But his foster dad said “he loves him so much as he is the cutest with those big little paws”. This little chap is now loving life in his foster home. He now knows what toys are & loves playing with his toys. He has been learning to go potty on material potty pads. At first he did not have a clue about anything at all but has picked up things very quickly in his devoted foster home. He absolutely loves his foster siblings & brother. He is extremely sweet but is very loving & a very cuddly little chap. He really enjoys snuggling with you & we know he adores being picked up & held & carried around to see what is going on. He adores being kissed & hugged by his foster family & being a free spirit doing his own thing. The reality is, the foster homes are his real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over his head that’s not outside. Burt is a wonderful eater & we know that he is obsessed with food with the amount of weight he has put on in his loving foster home with the good nutrition he is getting. He eats a clean diet meaning, raw fruits, vegetables, grains & proteins & is on supplements. He adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something he did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. He currently sleeps with his brother Ernie as they are fostered together & you will find them snuggled up together their foster mum said. He absolutely loves to sleep in the bed with you too & will snuggle up with you in your nook. He is such a very innocent puppy who just wants to be loved & to make up for his past. He loves everyone & is so very sweet. He is accepting with being bathed & groomed & tolerates the hairdryer. He would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. He is a puppy & we have not taken him out anywhere. He still needs to learn his puppy manners. Burt rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when he went to be sold & when we got him & going home & to & from the vets with us & his loving foster home. But he does absolutely amazing in the. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lad only. Burt as you can imagine spent the first part of his life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Burt where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Burt is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & never give up on him. Burt has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & he is currently with his sibling in his foster home. He will be found snuggled up with his foster siblings. He absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for him to thrive in. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard. Burt is roughly 8 lbs & he is roughly 10 weeks old & ‭a pembroke corgi‬. He has put on a lot of weight since being in the rescue in his foster home. What he is mixed with we are not sure. We treated him for coccidia & giradia as we do with all puppies. Male, he will be neutered by laser by our wonderful vets, he is microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHPP, leptospirosis, bordatella & dewormed & will be neutered by laser by ASTR by 6 months only. We have spent far more on Burt with paying for him from a commercial breeder. Bringing him to WA with his travel costs, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing her to WA then his adoption fee comes close to covering. Oreo has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have had him around small children & he adores them but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Burt was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Burt’s friends & siblings he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Burt potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Burt & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Burt who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Burt. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Burt has an adoption fee of $1650 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

Meet Happy💜 Happy lived neglected within a fenced area of junkyard. The person who reported Happy to us was feeding Happy for a year and when the junkyard went bankrupt, the owner left and abandoned Happy. Please be Happy’s miracle and become his forever family. 🙏🏻 💟 Personality / Characteristics *Keyword: #Shortlegged #Lovebug #Lovestoeat *Energy level (1~10): Levels 6-7 *Happy can be shy at first time but once he opens up, he is a lovebug who keeps asking to be petted.😊 *Happy is not particularly interested in other doggy friends at Adogs Center! He is only interested in taking his own snacks and doesn’t care about other friends. He is an easygoing pup who can get along with other dogs! *Happy has some food obsession so he tends to eat fast. If he eats too quickly, he will cough and make a choking sound, so it’s important to help him eat slowly. *Likes to make markings from place to place and scratches the ground after he makes a marking!🤣 *When other dogs bark, Happy doesn’t bark at all. There is no unnecessary barking, but when he wants to be taken out of the kennel, he barks to make sure he is taken out.

Story
Meet DoYou 두유🩵 (DoYou means soy milk in Korean) Right after he was born, along with his 4 siblings and his mommy, they came to Korean City Shelter. Currently, Doyou is the last one who is waiting to be adopted. He loves his pup friends and plays very gently!! His social skill is on top of top.👍🏻 When introduced to dogs he meets for the first time, he wags and sniffs gently. Doyou is curious and energetic! He's calm but also he is actually a active, adorable, and mischievous pup. At the same time, DoYou can play by himself so he can be only dog or can live with other dog siblings. When his foster family is in the living room, Doyou doesn’t stay by himself in his room but will come to sit on his foster family’s lap. 💙 Health issues : Allergic to egg white and peanuts, has atopic dermatitis *Separation anxiety: None. DoYou can sleep by himself separately. *House training: He prefers to do his business outdoors. Altho, pretty good at using a pee pad for the small business. 💟 Personality / Characteristics *Doyou sometimes bark when hearing an unknown sound, but there is no unnecessary barking. If his foster tells him to stop, he will stop barking right away. *Hardly barks. *Doyou can walk, bathe, let his foster to clean his ears very gently. However, there is some nipping when his toenails get trimmed…🥺 *No carsickness. *Mastered sit, wait, give a paw, spin, nose, hi five, and slow!(If you say slow! he will eat slowly) Possible to do “Bark low!” and “Bark loud!” *Doyou’s favorites: Ripping papers play, ball play, tug play, treats, people, walking outside, nose walk toy, doggy friends, meat treats, cooked dried pollock treats. 💙 Foster Instagram: @doyousoymilk_foster

Meet Lulu :) Lulu is a mom of Lupi, Luda, and Lupong and stayed at Korea rural Shelter for an extended time and was recently rescued. Lulu is a lovely pup who has beautiful black hair and a million-dollar worth smile!❤‍ We are desperately looking for a furever family where Lulu can meet her loving family just like her babies.🙏🏻 ✨Heartworm treatment completed (Retest scheduled Feb 2024) 💟 Personality / Characteristics *Keywords: #Mildtempered #Kind #Sweetgirl *Energy Level (1~10): Lv. 4 *Lulu can be shy towards people she meets for the first time, and it will take some time to warm up, but once she warms up, she is a dog with an awesome personality who takes treats in a person’s hand. *No problem getting along well with other doggy friends at Adogs Center! *We tried to walk her, but she is still scared of the leash. With consistent walking practice, she will improve as time passes.🥰
