7/7/25: This sweet girl came into the Animal Shelter as a stray, just about to burst with pups and not fully mobile on all four legs. She is being seen by a vet to determine the best way to deliver the pups. She will become available as soon as all her pups are whelped and weaned, anticipated to be early to mid-September. But you don't have to wait until then...if you are interested in this girl, fill out an application. Our goal is that as soon as she is done being supermom, she has her own place to land right away! She deserves to be pampered and cuddled for the rest of her life!

Adorable Gretchen is ready to wiggle her way right into your heart! She is a darling 6 ½ -month-old puppy (born approximately 10/30/25), weighing 10.8 pounds, with a beautiful black and tan coat. This sweet Dachshund / Chihuahua mix definitely takes after her Doxie side with her long little body and irresistible charm. Gretchen came to AFC with her sister, Gretel, who is also available for adoption. She was lovingly surrendered so she could find the forever family she deserves. Gretchen is current on her vaccinations, micro-chipped and is scheduled to be spayed soon, but she is ready to start meeting potential adopters now. She’s still a puppy, so she will need continued house training and leash training, but she’s already learning the routine of going in and out on command and is eager to please. Hail Mary is a 2 month old, 7 pound (and GROWING!) dachshund-y mix looking for her FURever home!Mary has spent time in a foster home with cats and dogs both big and small, and she LOVED them all. She is respectful to the cats who might not love her energy, and very engaged with her foster dog brothers. She is playful, rambunctious, and sweet. She met kids and did very well with them, and she is starting to work on potty training and crate training and doing well! She loves all things puppies like- toys, chews, food and most of all, attention and love!

Looking for a loving forever home ❤️ This sweet 8-year-old Dachshund is looking for someone who can give her the love and companionship she deserves. She is blind, but she gets around well once she’s familiar with her surroundings. More than anything, she just wants to be close to her people. She’s gentle, loves affection, and does great with kids and families. Rehoming her is one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make. We’re moving, and unfortunately our new home doesn’t allow dogs. We are not looking to take her to a shelter—we want to find someone who will love her like family and give her the happy life she deserves. This little hotdog-shaped girl is Camela! She weighs 30 lbs. She has an interesting look to her that makes us think she's a Dachshund wearing a German Shepherd jacket. :) She has an unknown history, but based on her teeth, she is estimated to be around 3 to 4 years old. She is a lovely girl that just wants to join you for a cuddle and receive gentle pets. She was found with a dog friend and she's pretty mellow, so that makes us think she'd do ok with a resident doggie.
