He caught the eye of one of our fosters who loves the silver sweeties, and she scooped him to safety. Chesapeake immediately made himself at home and integrated himself in the day to day life with the other dogs. However, he is not a fan of cats. Chesapeake is well mannered around the house, rides well in the car and is pretty low key. He would prefer a home that is on the more mellow side with not a ton of coming and going. Chesapeake loves to give kisses and is pretty social with new people he meets after a tiny warm up. He would benefit from a little one on one leash work with seeing other dogs etc. He’s super food motivated and will happily take chicken or cheese as a special treat. Chesapeake is a 7 years 22 lb Dachshund mix. He’s going to make a wonderful addition for a family looking for a salt and pepper sweetie. Could that be you? Grizzly is a great dog! He really is such a good boy!! Although we don't know his exact birthday it was quite obvious he was a puppy when he came to us. He is mostly potty trained and has "outside potty" down to a T!! But just like any pet will have an accident if neglected and not let outside to potty. He is loving and already loyal seeming to want to be by someones side as long as you allow but is content to kennel at night alone without whimpering or crying. He truly is a pleasure and anyone who will love him and give him the attention he deserve will come to understand how lucky you both are to have one another.

I know, I know, seems like a weird mix but take a look at Gracie - what other conclusion would we reach. Gracie is 3 years old and weighs 18 pounds. This girl is beautiful. She is very sweet and gets along well with other dogs. In fact, she loves other dogs. She would do great in a home that has another dog for her to play with. Gracie is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting or adopting her please go straight to our website and fill out the online adoption application. www.fochp.org    Please fill out our online application (www.fochp.org).  Once you meet the pet and decide it is the right pet for your family there is an adoption fee.  The adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, de-worming, microchip, 30-day pet health insurance which you will need to order when we provide you with the number.    Our adoption fees are non-refundable so please be sure you are ready for a commitment to the pet you are interested in.
