Story
*We will not be hosting an adoption event on July 4. Instead, we will be offering private adoption appointments for pre-approved applicants from June 28-July 5. Please contact us to learn more!* Meet Melvin! At just two months old, Melvin is already packed full of personality, spunk, and enough energy to keep life exciting. This little guy approaches every day like it’s a brand-new adventure, whether he’s zooming around the yard, investigating a squeaky toy, or finding creative ways to make you laugh. But don’t let his playful side fool you—Melvin is also incredibly sweet and loves being around people. After a day of exploring and puppy shenanigans, he’s more than happy to soak up affection and snuggle close to his favorite humans. One of Melvin’s best qualities is his intelligence. He’s a quick learner who is always paying attention and eager to figure things out. With a little guidance and positive reinforcement, this smart pup is going to make an amazing companion. Melvin is looking for a family to call his own—people who will appreciate his adventurous spirit, nurture his bright mind, and give him all the love he deserves. In return, he’ll bring endless laughs, unconditional love, and a lifetime of loyal friendship. Melvin is a 2-month-old mixed breed who was rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $600 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, and neuter. Melvin is also tested with other dogs, cats, and children. He is working on potty and kennel training in foster care. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if he might be a good fit for your home. The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals. We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!) Please note, adoption applications are processed within 1–2 business days. Adoption applications cannot be processed onsite at adoption events. Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525). For additional questions regarding meeting this dog please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772 or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to a high volume of inquiries, calls and voicemails regarding adoption will not be returned. Thank you for choosing adoption! If you would like more information about our organization, please visit our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org.

Story
Don’t let his tiny size fool you — this little dachshund mix puppy is full of love. Around 4 months old, he’s deaf, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit. He unfortunately found himself in an overrun shelter in Texas. We couldn't say no to his cute face. He’s a total sweetheart who loves people, cuddles, and following his humans around with his adorable puppy confidence. He may experience the world a little differently, but he’s just as playful, smart, and loving as any other puppy — and honestly, maybe even more special. He’s looking for a patient, kind home ready to help him grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. June 2026 update from the foster family:  Pilot is a smart, playful, cuddly, and friendly puppy. He’s got striking ice blue eyes, a red/tan dapple coat, and he is deaf due to a double merle(dapple)gene mutation. He’s a Dachshund mix and he’s almost 6 months old. He’s very smart and he pays close attention to see what the humans and other animals are doing so he can be a part of the group. He learns signs quickly and he is getting started with wearing an e-collar to help him know when he needs to pause and see what the human wants. He loves to play, chew on toys and sticks, fetch (for a short time), dig, go on walks, and snuggle. He’s looking for a forever home where he can learn to understand and communicate without sound. He’s going to need to have regular veterinary check ups to monitor his vision and other potential issues that can arise from his double merle genetic condition. His skin on his face and his eyes will need to be carefully protected from the sun so he can better avoid sunburns, skin cancer, and cataracts because he is way more susceptible to those than other dogs who don’t have the double merle genes. Like all dachshunds, but also due to his higher risk as a double merle, he will need to be kept from jumping off of things or using a lot of stairs to protect his long spine and short legs. More than the average dog, he will need at least annual vet visits to monitor his health and keep him safe. He’s currently a healthy and strong boy. He likes pretty much all dogs and people, and he's been good with cats. He is very interested in our guinea pigs, so I don't leave him alone near them. Luckily, he comes away from them when I signal to him and he readliy accepts diversions. He sleeps on our bed through the night. He likes his crate and he will readily enter it and he settles down quickly if we need him to stay there. He benefits from having other dogs to take cues from since he can't hear, and this seems to be an important accomodation for him. If you want a sweet and smart little companion who you can use hand signals with, please apply to adopt Pilot from Mother Gaia Animal Rescue by filling out the adoption application ##2744552##

Story
Meet Marisol Female DOB: March 29, 2026 Weight: 12 lbs (current — still growing) medium sized Expected Size: Small to Medium when fully grown Breed: Terrier Mix Spayed (Fixed): Pending (age-appropriate) Vaccines: Pending (age-appropriate) Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Marisol is a sweet and affectionate little puppy with a playful personality and loving spirit. At this young age, she is still discovering the world around her and enjoys cuddles, companionship, toys, playtime, and exploring new experiences with curiosity and excitement. She has a happy puppy energy while also loving closeness and affection from her people. Marisol is still very young and growing, making this an especially important stage for confidence-building, socialization, structure, and positive experiences that will help shape her into a happy and well-balanced adult dog. As a growing Terrier mix puppy, Marisol will likely mature into an intelligent, engaging companion with lots of personality and strong bonds with her family. Terrier mixes are often known for being affectionate, clever, energetic dogs who thrive with interaction, companionship, and enrichment. Marisol is expected to stay in the small-to-medium size range as an adult. Marisol would thrive in a home prepared for: Ongoing puppy training and supervision Daily exercise, playtime, and enrichment Structure, consistency, and routine Positive socialization and engagement A lifelong commitment to her emotional and physical well-being Puppies are adorable, but they are also a major responsibility requiring patience, supervision, training, and long-term commitment throughout every stage of life. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue puppies come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Even very young puppies require significant guidance and supervision to properly learn how to navigate life in a home environment. Puppies are not automatically trained simply because they are young. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, basic structure, and socialization, adopters should expect to continue all training and development after adoption. Adopting a puppy means being prepared for: Potty training and accidents Teething and chewing phases Crate training and leash training Nighttime wakeups and supervision Jumping, barking, and playful puppy behavior Ongoing socialization and confidence-building Daily exercise, enrichment, and structure Routine veterinary visits and vaccine boosters Financial commitment throughout the dog’s lifetime Because Marisol is still very young and small, extra care should also be taken around: Larger animals Rough play Stairs and jumping Unsafe chewing hazards Open doors or unsecured outdoor spaces Marisol will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Mental stimulation and enrichment Patience, consistency, and supervision Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, guidance, and commitment, puppies like Marisol grow into wonderful lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a puppy is a lifelong commitment that includes training, exercise, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life. Marisol will need: Ongoing puppy training and guidance Routine veterinary visits and vaccine boosters Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and growth monitoring Daily exercise, enrichment, and companionship A safe, stable, indoor living environment Puppies require regular veterinary care throughout their first year, including booster vaccines, wellness exams, and spay surgery when age-appropriate. Because Marisol is still very young, adopters should also be prepared for the normal puppy phases that come with growing and learning, including chewing, teething, accidents, testing boundaries, and continued social development. Marisol is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting this wonderful puppy, please complete an adoption application by visiting: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles–based rescue dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at a loving home. Ozzie and Friends Rescue coordinates safe and reliable transport so adopted dogs can travel to their new homes across the Western United States, Canada, and the Midwest. Story
** If you are interested in adopting Cooper, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Cooper is a 5 year old, 14 pound Dachshund / Chihuahua mix. (That is an educated guess, as we do not DNA test rescue dogs). Cooper is s a very goofy, friendly, sweet, little guy!! He is good with other dogs, cats, and loves people and getting and giving affection. From Cooper's foster: "He is doing well!! He is a very sweet boy who wants all the attention. He is mainly potty trained with an accident here and there. He doesn't really bark much and is easy on the leash. He sleeps all night on bed with me and the cats! He is happy and nice meeting other dogs. His appetite is good, but I have a feeling he could get a little chonky if not keeping in check as he is very food motivated. He is friendly when meeting new people too." At just 14 pounds, Cooper is the perfect size for adventures big and small. Whether its neighborhood walks, playtime with doggy friends, or cuddling up on the couch after a busy day, Cooper is ready to be your loyal sidekick. We'd like to place Cooper in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Cooper is up to date on his vaccinations, has been fully vetted, is healthy, heartworm negative, and is neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out 400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
