Story
Franc is a sensitive little pup that is looking for a gentle adopter! He has been benefitting from the support of our Training & Behavior team during his time with us and will need a family that is committed to continuing his socialization. Franc is required to go to a home with a well-adjusted older dog to allow for some observational learning to occur! Additionally, a home with a fenced yard is required to allow for a more positive transition for all. Due to his tender nature, HSBV will only rehome him to a family without children or with children over the age of 10.Franc can be met with until 4:30pm so our Training & Behavior team can provide adoption counseling.

Story
Q LOVEs: couch buddy, walk on leash, hike off leash, returns when called, car rides, dog parks, potty trained, all shots current, healthy, 17lb, 10yrs He came to me 2yrs ago, was considered "challenging dog" - I took him bc I'm a vanlifer and could provide time/energy to train him. We've done well, now ready for a home that can give him a bit more space than a van (apt/house both are great) CURRENT NEEDS: some body handling sensitivity remains. For washing him, walk in shower is great. He doesn't like nail trims and tooth brushing, but loves dental treats! I'm happy to share all I've learned. He will do amazing w someone who is willing to build trust and continue train. TRANSPARENCY: he has bit me in very early stage bc I tried to bathe him w/o proper knowledge. He now enjoys warm shower on his body bc I educated myself. It's often the humans, not the dogs!

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Rosie, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Rosie! Rosie is a sweet, 2 year old, 18lb Dachshund / Jack Russell Terrier mix. Rosie’s story starts in Houston, Texas, where she was found as a stray and brought into a large, overcrowded shelter. For a small, sweet dog like Rosie, the shelter was an incredibly scary place. While many dogs bark or pace when they are stressed, Rosie simply sat quietly in her kennel, trembling and shaking. Shelter staff could handle her, pick her up, and pet her without issue. She was just overwhelmed and scared, which is so heartbreaking to see in such a gentle little dog. Thankfully, Rosie caught our eye and we were able to pull her out of that stressful environment. She is now safe in a foster home where she can finally relax and be herself! The difference was already noticeable within the first day. Her foster reported that Rosie was settling in right away! Sometimes all a dog needs is a safe home, a soft bed, and kind people to remind them that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. From Rosie's foster: "She is doing amazing. It took her about two days to feel totally comfortable, but she is very happy now. She has been living with 3 other dogs (2 small, 1 medium/large) and has been great with them. She is super friendly with them and plays with them all the time. She loves attention and snuggles and playing. I would say she’s doing very well with potty training. Every time we take her in the backyard, she goes pee and/or poop. She’s only had 2-3 pee accidents indoors with us, and almost all have been on potty pads. So she’s not fully potty trained, but I’d say she’s close to it! She’s learning quickly. " Rosie is up to date on her vaccinations, has been fully vetted, is healthy, heartworm negative, and is spayed. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
