Story
Hi there — Odin here.    Beagle/dachshund mix. 4 years old. 25 pounds of low-rider charm.   The highlights:  House-trained  Neutered  Great in the car (nose on full alert)  Non-leash reactive — cool, calm, and collected on walks  Loves dogs, kids, AND cats   I don't do walks. I do sniffaris. Every outing is a full investigation.   I've got beagle in me, so yes — I have opinions, and I share them. I've got dachshund too, so I can be a little stubborn. But I am extremely food-motivated, which means snacks = cooperation. Simple math.   Fair warning: I've got allergies, so I eat a raw lamb/pork diet and take daily Apoquel. I'm worth it. (Have you seen me?)   I'll be real with you — I had a rough start, and I still get a little anxious when my people leave. But I settle quickly and thrive with a consistent routine and cozy blanket situation. I'm also working with my humans on resource guarding, and I get better every day with structure and positive training.   What I bring to the table: loyalty, snuggles, endless entertainment, and zero boring walks. Ever.   Looking for a sidekick who will never let you down (or walk past an interesting smell)?   Let's meet.    Apply at eapl.com  My adoption fee is $375   Sniff you later, OdinApril 25, 2026, 9:48 am

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Sage, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Sage (male)! Sage is a darling, 9 year old, 15 lb purebred Dachshund. Sage is super happy, bouncy, playful, friendly, and sweet! Sage’s journey brought him to us from a shelter in New Mexico, where he found himself through no fault of his own. Even in a crowded shelter environment where he had to share a kennel with another dog due to space, Sage showed just how adaptable and kind he is. He got along well with his kennel mate (another small dog) and continues to be a friendly, social little guy who truly enjoys the company of both people and other dogs. He was so loved by the shelter staff that they brought him to hang out in their office every day! One of the first things everyone notices about Sage is just how incredibly silly he is. And don’t let his age fool you - this little guy is full of life! Sage is extremely playful and absolutely LOVES toys. He will happily entertain himself (and you!) by playing and tearing them up with pure joy. He also loves going for walks and has a fun, spunky personality that makes him such a joy to be around. Sage is blind, but so adaptable. He uses his other senses to get around confidently and quickly learns the layout of his environment. Once he’s familiar with his home, he moves around with ease and just wants to be included in whatever you’re doing. From Sage's foster: "Sage is so good! Although he does love toys and has super playful moments, He is also very chill most of the time! He loves to walk. He learned the layout of my house quickly and settled into my routine very well. He can even do the stairs on his own!!! He is SO sweet. He learned to get up on my couch as well. Being blind doesn't handicap him much at all! He is also great with the cats." Sage also has a large scar along his back that you may have noticed in his photos or video. This has been examined by the vets and is confirmed to be just a scar. It is fully healed scar tissue (not hair loss or an active skin condition). Based on its appearance, the vet said it was likely caused by a burn / a bad reaction to a topical treatment many years ago. Whatever the cause, it is long since healed. It’s simply part of Sage’s story now and doesn’t impact his comfort, health, or happy, playful nature in any way. Sage has a Grade 5-6 heart murmur. At this time, Sage is not showing symptoms that require medication or special care, and he is currently living his life like a completely normal, happy, PLAYFUL dog. However, because of the high grade of his murmur, it is possible that Sage may have a shorter lifespan than a typical dog. It’s also important to say that we do not know this for sure!!! Some dogs with higher grade murmurs continue to do well for years without needing intervention. What we can say with certainty is that Sage does NOT act like a senior dog in any way (other than being blind). He is playful and full of personality. He is living in the moment, and he is enjoying life to the absolute fullest. Sage is truly a special little dog. He’s resilient, loving, and full of life. He’s looking for a compassionate, loving home with someone who understands his medical unknowns but is ready to embrace all the joy, laughter, and love he brings every single day. Sage is fully vaccinated and microchipped. He is not yet neutered, due to the risk of putting him under anesthesia with a heart murmur. Our vet agrees that neutering him is not worth the risk, so Sage has a medical exemption to not be neutered for his safety. We also want to note that unfortunately Sage cannot receive a dental cleaning due to the risk of putting him under anesthesia. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Kevin, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Kevin! Kevin is an adorable 5 month old Dachshund puppy who is already full of personality in his tiny 8 lb frame! He is expected to be around 15 lbs full grown. Kevin came into a Texas shelter after being found out on the streets with another young puppy. The two were likely surviving together, navigating the world far too early on their own. Thankfully, Kevin is now safe, heading to Colorado, and finally getting the chance to grow up the way every puppy should; warm, protected, and loved! At just 5 months old, Kevin is very much still a baby. Everything is new and exciting to him, and he’s in that classic puppy stage where curiosity leads the way. He’s playful, observant, and learning quickly, taking in the world one little adventure at a time. Like most Dachshund puppies, he’s expected to grow into a dog with a big personality packed into a small, long little body! Equal parts silly, smart, and opinionated in the best way. Kevin has been dog social and loves canine companionship. He would enjoy having a playful dog friend in his future home. That said, he’s also young enough that he’ll happily bond deeply with his people and look to them for guidance, comfort, and reassurance. As a puppy, Kevin is still learning all the important life skills. He’ll need a committed adopter that understands puppies require time, training, and consistency. In return, Kevin will offer all the things that make puppyhood so special: goofy antics, sweet snuggles, and those heart-melting moments where he looks at you like you’re his whole world. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young dog whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Our training requirement is to help every adoption be successful. Kevin has been fully vetted, is up to date on his vaccines, heartworm negative, and neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.

Story
Hi! My name is Willow Ray! I am a 2 year old (June 19 2023) spayed female dachshund/border Collie mix. I've lived with my current parents since I was 8 weeks old and have 3 other siblings, I have recently decided that I would like to be an only child! I LOVE to snuggle, sleep under blankets, be outside in ANY weather, and go for walks. I am kennel trained (kennel up) and never go potty in the house. I know my basic commands and am very gentle when it comes to food/treats. I am not a fan of car rides but i do okay for them and not a fan of young kids. I am really scared of loud noises like fireworks and thunder. I am a very sweet girl but just want a home I can be center of attention! Can't wait to meet you soon! Willow is a very sweet and loving girl but has gone after and injured one of the other dogs. She is cautious with new people and can get nervous but once she warms up she is a lover! She has never hurt a child but does not like young children. She deserves a good home and life
