Story
Scooby is a 5 year old Dachshund Bully mix weighing approximately 35 pounds. He was surrendered when his owner lost her job and was forced to move in with relatives. You can see the sadness in his eyes ☹. He is very timid and laid back, complacent and mellow. Needless to say, he is very depressed and won’t even eat (not even treats). His adoption donation is $250 which includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip. He is heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. Please help him to feel loved again. https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/store/p169/Scooby_Doo.html

Story
Meet Benito, a charming 6-year-old dachshund with a playful spirit and a heart full of love! This sweet little guy is the perfect mix of fun and affection, bringing joy and warmth wherever he goes. Benito still has plenty of pep in his step and loves to play, especially when toys are involved. Whether he’s tossing around his favorite squeaky toy or engaging in a playful romp, he knows how to keep himself—and everyone around him—entertained. He also gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making him a great companion for a home with furry friends. When playtime winds down, Benito is all about the cuddles. He adores snuggling up with his people and soaking in all the love and attention he can get. His sweet, affectionate nature makes him the perfect little shadow, always ready to be by your side. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and loyal companion who will fill your days with smiles and your nights with cozy cuddles, Benito is ready to be your new best friend. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Adoption fee is $400 and you can adopt me at www.polkadogz.org. ##2685380##

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Goldie: Your New Low-Rider, Little Spoon, and Loyalty Expert  If you are looking for a compact companion who promises to keep your bed warm and your life full of laughs, Goldie is the girl for you. At a solid 25 lbs, this 5 1/2yo possible dachshund/pittie mix is the definition of "travel-sized" perfection. She sports the classic long-and-low doxie build and a coat of bright sunshine, all topped off with a pair of iconic "satellite dish" ears. The Resilient Spirit: Goldie is a survivor who lost her first home after her original family became unhoused. She was hit by a car in October 2024 that left her temporarily paralyzed from the waist down after suffering a broken pelvis. She is a medical marvel; while her back legs may look a little "off-kilter" when she walks, she still has that goofy energy and can run, zoom and leap onto the couch for a cuddle session like a pro. The Daily Routine: Goldie is a trustworthy, non-destructive roommate who doesn’t require a crate. When you’re gone, she mostly just snoozes in her bed or burrows into blankets. She has a few 15-minute bursts of "goofy mode" per day for tug-o-war or fetch and will let you know when it's time to go out (or when it's time to eat). Otherwise, her absolute favorite pastime is getting endless belly scratches while melting into your side.  She walks fine on a leash but can pull or plant if she sees or smells something interesting. She loves car rides.  Quick Stats & Needs: The Friendship Pipeline: Goldie can be wary of strangers at first. She needs a proper, patient introduction. However, if that stranger is offering a slice of delicious ham, she’ll immediately decide they are her new best friend for life! (And once that initial meeting is over, she’ll stay your best friend even if the ham runs out!) Family Life: If the home has kids, Goldie would do well in a home with older children (10+); she would love a human playmate to burn off energy with during backyard chase sessions. Social Skills & Training: She is a loyal protector who needs a confident leader to set boundaries, as she can sometimes be prone to resource-guarding her favorite people. Because she already has a great grip on her basic commands, she is incredibly adept at learning; she would be an excellent candidate for additional training to help her channel her loyalty and focus into new skills!  Other Pets: She prefers to be your one and only dog. She is currently coexisting with two cats, but her "no chill" approach can be a bit much for them. The Ideal Setup: Someone who works from home or part-time is preferred for regular bathroom breaks. Home Infrastructure: She prefers non-slip flooring to keep her balanced. Plus, easy-to-clean floors are best for her occasional "excited sprinkles" or drips when she barks. She requires a fenced-in yard (at least 4ft high) for safe sniffing and sunbathing.  Skills: Pro at "Sit," "Drop it," and "Go get/where’s your toy?" Goldie is a resilient soul who just wants a stable place to land. If you have a spot in your bed for a "little spoon" and a spare slice of ham, she will be your most devoted companion for life.  If you live in the Central March 17, 2026, 3:44 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application Hi, my name is Noodles and I am a 6-month-old Dachshund mix with a gentle heart and the sweetest little face. I can be a bit shy at first, especially in new situations, but with patience and love, I will slowly come out of my shell and will form a strong, loyal bond with my person.I am looking for a calm, understanding home where I can feel safe and take my time building confidence. Once I warm up, I am affectionate, loving, and happiest right by your side.I am still very young, so I may feel nervous when meeting other dogs, but with slow introductions, I will become a part of the pack. Because I am easily startled, I would prefer a home with older children who understand how to give me space. I love my humans, but little guys make me very nervous. Here are some highlights about me: 5 months old Dachshund mix Sweet, shy, and gentle Warms up with patience and love Nervous at first with dogs, but adjusts with time Best with older, calm children Very loyal once you gain my trustI just need someone willing to give me a little extra time—and in return, I will give you a lifetime of love.✨ Could you be the one to help me become the confident, happy girl I know I can be? Story
Beanie is between 8-12 months ! Shes a happy go lucky ready to take on the world kind of girl. She isn’t laid back she’s just super happy and will lay in your lap while watching tv but she has the desire to play king of the mountain and get little happy wiggly zoomies. She loves to talk when she has an opinion and she identifies as a Whooing husky in these moments really getting her point across. It’s the funniest cutest little voice. She loves men! She loves children and she will knock a woman off her thrown and tell them she’s the princess ! But she loves women too she just knows how to make a man or a child adore her . I think it’s so cute to see her stomp her paw and whoo a grown man to make him get down on his knee to say hello. Beanie is a pound puppy. She found herself lost and picked up and turned over to a kill shelter at levy county animal services and the staff member brought little beanie to us at 10pm to get her safe and out of the system ! So she is loved right off the bat but you have to match her energy or she may become a frustrated little pup pup. She’s crate trained but not housebroke . She does believe it’s her castle so she needs some guidance on how to have those house manners. Patience and grace despite her care free personality she was still a pound puppy ! Shes fully vetted microchipped HW tested and vaccinated and microchipped 352-844-3312 or 407-955-1516
