Story
Hi I'm squish! I'm a 6-7 month old daschund lab mix. I love all humans and dog's alike, I'm unsure about cats. I'm pretty small in stature and weight about 25 pounds. I am potty trained and know some commands however I'm still a puppy and learning. I came from a hoarding case of 200+ dogs but I am super friendly and love to meet new fur friends. I need a home that loves to play outside but alas loves cuddles. Because I can get super excited children over 10 would be best, (I don't want to accidentally knock over a small kid with all my excitement).   If you’re interested in meeting me, fill out an application here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/36795/generic Hazel has an adoption fee of $350. All adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip and registration, at least one booster shot (DHPP for dogs and FVRCP for cats), rabbies vaccine, and a negative heartworm test for dogs 6 months and older. Any other testing and/or vaccines are not guaranteed. If you have a member of your family that is military or has autism, we offer a 5% discount on adoption fees. Archie,s breed is a best guess based upon appearance. The listed breed(s) can NOT be guaranteed. Unforgettable Paws Animal Rescue only considers applicants that are within 2 hours from Zellwood, FL OR Tampa, FL for adoption. Cities that will result in a denial include, but are not limited to, Jacksonville, Gainsville, Tallahassee, Panama City, Naples, Miami, and Ft. Lauderdale. ##2162643##

Story
Muggles is a 5 year old miniature Dachshund. Muggles has partial paralysis from an old injury. Her previous owner said she was initially her back legs were fully paralyzed. With the help of acupuncture, she was able to restore some functionality in her back legs. She still has partial paralysis but gets around great. She is just wobbly. We intend to continue the acupuncture sessions and hydrotherapy to fully restore her mobility. Muggles still needs to be spayed and vaccinated before she can be adopted.  Muggles is a typical Dachshund. She loves being in her human's lap and loves to scavenge for food. Muggles does great with other dogs. She would do best in a house with smaller dogs so she doesn't risk getting run over. She would also do fine with a larger dog that has very gentle and calm mannerisms. We just want to prevent any type of injury from occurring again. She will need ramps within the household, she will jump off things if unattended. This could cause the paralysis to relapse. Muggles does need to be let outside often to avoid accidents. If let out frequently she is potty trained. Muggles would do best with an owner who works from home or is retired. Muggles can get nervous during car rides. Overall, Muggles is the best cuddle buddy and would be a great companion for anyone who wants a loyal furry best friend.  ##2098086##

Story
Slinky is a 6 year old special needs Doxy mix. This adorable boy is the sweetest, silliest boy. He is looking for a patient adopter that can care for his special needs. Slinky has IVDD (a degenerative disc disease common for Daschunds) and it causes him some mobility issues on his rear end. He is a little wobbly and not yet at the stage where a cart is needed - but he does have one that will go home with him so he has it when the time comes. He isn't completely incontinent and will go outside to potty but can have some leaking sometimes so he wears a diaper in the house. He does have control of his bladder and bowels and does not need manual help to relieve himself. He gets along great with other dogs, kids and cats. Due to his spinal issues it would not be safe for him to be with a large, overly playful dog that could be too rough with him or children too young to understand not to be too rough with him or try to lift him the wrong way.  Slinky's adoption fee is waived due to his ongoing medical needs. He comes with his cart, washable diapers and many other supplies including an adorable wagon that is used when he gets too tired to walk on his own while out and about. We know someone will see the differently abled soul that Slinky is and fall in love. ##2172304##

Story
I found Rocco a little over a year ago on my way home from work. He was walking in the middle of the road and I almost hit him. I pulled over and got out to see if he was okay and he just hopped in my front seat and sat down, so I took him home lol. I spent 4 days searching for his home and on 5th day I took him to get chipped and his shots and bought him some stuff to make him comfy. Simply put, Rocco is the sweetest dog ever. He’s never been bit me or shown any aggression towards anyone or any other pet I bring around him and he LOVES people. He is definitely a velcro-dog and requires LOTS of love and attention. As for Rocco’s new owners, it would be ideal for them to have the availability to be home with him often and comfortable with a dog that requires attention almost 24/7. Rocco dislikes the grass so a back yard isn’t necessary, but a LOVES his walks and to kick back dirt lol. I would say Rocco is special needs for a few reason, but I don’t have enough space to say why lol. HMU

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sherman came to PRBJ after his owner's health caused her to be hospitalized for a very long period of time, leaving Sherman alone in the home. The landlord was contacted to do a wellness check on the dog and found the dog in very poor condition. The landlord had to get Sherman some medical treatment, and the owner decided it was in the dog's best interest to surrender him to the rescue and find a forever home. Sherman needs an adult only home or possibly one with older teens.  He enjoys nice quiet walks and sitting next to his human or on their lap. FOSTER UPDATE 08-17-2024 Sherman is doing good in our home with our dog and us. He is house trained, likes going to new places but takes a moment to get in the car. He sleeps through the night, loves playing with toys and eating. He doesn’t know how to go down stairs and prefers not to be picked up but once he knows you he will jump in your lap and snuggle. Even though he is five he has a good bit of energy and needs to be consistently walked and exercised. He would do best in an ADULT HOME WITHOUT STAIRS and with someone who can continue training on not begging for food and provide him with some nice long, brisk walks for his energy. He prefers his humans to not leave him alone for long periods.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 12, 2024, 11:28 am

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Peaches are a sweet fruit. So it’s no wonder this sweet girl was named after one. Meet our Peaches. This 3-year-old possibly dachshund mix was surrendered when her person went into assisted living. Sadly she had lived outside her entire life. That’s a hard life for any dog, but especially a 13-lb girl. Of course this resulted in her being heart worm positive, but she is taking meds so will be free of them in no time. Peaches is loving being in an inside environment. She is house trained and will gladly go outside to do her business. She just takes a few days to learn the routine. She is doing great learning to walk on a leash and has learned treats are yummy! Sweet Peaches gets along great with other dogs. We aren’t sure about cats but seems calm enough so we think she would probably be fine around them. She hasn’t been around young children so older kids preferred if the home has children. If you think this precious girl would be a good fit for your family, and you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area, please complete an app and tell us more about you. September 9, 2024, 7:24 pm
