Story
Callie loves to play; she always has a toy in her mouth. Each morning she goes straight to the toy box to grab a toy and then swaps it for a chewy on her way to the crate at night. She loves people! She is 6 years old and still full of fun playful energy. We believe her to be a doxie/beagle mix weighing in at about 25-30 lbsShe is okay with some cats, and a few dogs. She really would do best in as an only dog. And so she waits. In her foster home, we have her on a crate and rotate system. She stays in the office where no other dogs are allowed. She runs the yard by herself keeping herself busy with the hundreds of toys she has claimed as her favorite. But her most favorite is her people. She loves pets, belly rubs, head scratches, “good girls”, treats anything where she is getting atttention. She enjoys walks, carrides, does great in a crowd of people, just loves introducing herself to anyone that she could. We have vet records that go back 4 years, so her age is accurate. She has a history of skin issues from flea allergies and possible food allergies. She will need to be on an Rx-based flea prevention, and have her on a fish-based diet.  Her skin has cleared up beautifully. She is crate trained, house trained and walks well on leash, with just a little pulling, excited to go anywhere.  Callie's Story: She came to rescue after losing both her parents. Mom died in January and then in March, Dad went to the hospital with Cancer. He could no longer take care of her and the extended family took Callie to the pound. You can tell she was a well-loved dog. adoption fee $300 includes spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms. Story
Jaid came to DREAM after her owners never returned for her while staying with neighbor. She’s a sweet little gal looking for a place to land and a lap to cuddle on. We know very little about her past (not even her age-its just a guess) but we have followed some clues that lead us to believe she’s had back surgery in the past. She walks just fine and to the untrained eye she walks with an adorable swish. She has had all her regular vetting (shots, tests, spay) and also some imaging. She was having some issues and scanned showed cystitis and she is being treated for that. Don’t let all that medical talk fool ya, this gal is got spunk and is living out loud with many years left to share her passion for taking in all life has to give. If you are interested in adopting Jaid, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Jaid's adoption fee is $500. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Jaid will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back. Follow us on Instagram , Facebook and Twitter

Story
I'm Sprout, and I am 110% dachshund. I have it ALL -- everything you've heard about dachshunds? I've got it. Snuggly? Check. Food motivated? Yup. Nosy up in all your business? Oh yeah. Demanding of attention? See nosy. Burrow under blankies? All the time. Barky? BARK BARK Back problems? Yup, but I'm a trooper. Funny? SO FUNNY. Sweet kisses? I got 'em. Prey drive. Oh yeah. Show me the squirrel. Nippy with strangers? Well, they're strangers. Duh. Then I sit in their lap. I'm 9 pounds of love and pure nerve. I love my people and I love my doggie friends. I'm a big fan of the couch cuddle and the wrestling zoomies. Adults and kiddos over 10 only please. I had a disc rupture (darn dachshund genes) but I walk pretty normally now. I can run and play but I cannot do stairs. (I can climb a ramp.) I have pretty good control of my bladder but if you give me a little extra squeeze when we go outside (foster mom will teach you), I don't leak in the house. I am about to start some physical therapy to improve my core strength, which will help with that. PILATES, anyone? I am a delight to be around and a real charmer. If you are interested in adopting Sprout, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Sprout's adoption fee is $400. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds.
