Mango is an adorable dog who follows her person around. She is a bit timid, but she depends on her human, loves to snuggle, and sleep in the same bed. It may take some time for her to open up, but when she does, she is the sweetest and will show her little belly for rubs. Mango does get a little scared when approached directly from the front, she does better when called from the side without making eye contact. She didn't have much experience of being walked so she is very curious and often gets very excited which may lead to some pulling or even chasing pigeons. But overall, she loves to go out for walks.     Sweet, loving, opinionated, stubborn, loyal, quirky are all the things my Fommy says about me, but my favorite thing she calls me is her sweet boy. I'm 1.5yrs old and weight about 14lbs.  Fommy says I have the perfect balance of independence and wanting to be with my human (no separation anxiety).     I love to burrow and snuggle with my family. So I require lots of comfy blankets.  I'm crate/pen trained and potty trained. I don't bark often but when I do I usually can't find my off button until my Fommy distracts me, so apartments are probably not ideal for me. Having little children in my home or an high traffic household is probably also not best for me. I'm not a fan of littles or strangers reaching for me, and when somebody comes in the house I don't know, I like to use that barking mechanism until I eventually warm up. I do like other dogs as long as they don't try to get my prize possessions . But I'll let them know if they do.     I also don't really like the vet's office and this goes back to me not liking strangers reaching into me. Again, I usually let them know right away that I don't like something. So when I go to the vet office they need to have a little bit of patience with me. I do love running around a fenced yard but I don't really need that because I get so excited when the leash comes out and know that we are going on a walk and I'm even fairly good at it. Avon has had many people in his life who love him! His first owner was not one of them. He kept him tied up in filth behind his house for 2 years. His second owners rescued him and took him in but after 6 years Avon's anxiety became too much for a growing family with small kiddos. He currently fostering with his dog walkers and they love him dearly, but recognize that with his history he would be happier without new dogs coming in an out all of the time, and an everchanging pack dynamic. His people love him, but he needs a home now to live out his glory days, of laying around, getting a walk, and sitting in your lap asking for cuddles. He is an anxious dog that does really well on the leash, but is not a fan of dog parks and a lot of dogs coming at him. Fostered in Dacula, GA Hawk: 2.5 yr. old stag red neutered male Min Pin and Terrier mix, 17 lbs. Fully vetted Hawk is a bouncy pogo stick of a pup! He loves to jump repeatedly. As he can clear 3-4 feet, a fence will need to be a bit taller to contain him as a safety precaution. He is a very loving boy who adores attention and meets no strangers. He gets along with other dogs and ignores cats. Hawk wants nothing more than to be with his person. If you sit down, he will be on your lap. Leash training is progressing, and given how much Hawk loves people, he is more than eager to follow someone on leash. However, he loves just as much to play with other dogs in a fenced area too. Hawk needs to wear a belly band initially due to marking, but otherwise is progressing on house-training if kept on a schedule. Children, if present, should be over the age of 7 as Hawk is quite the jumper and could easily knock a small child down on accident when playing. Annie: 4-5 yr. old red/white spayed Min Pin/Dachshund mix, 14 lbs., docked tail Fully vetted Annie is very energetic and loves squeaky toys. The one in the video lasted only a few minutes. She's been on a diet, and as the weight keeps coming off of her, she runs and plays much more. She should be fed separately from other dogs because she finishes her food in about 10 seconds and then wants to steal theirs. She gets along with most dogs with appropriate introductions and a routine which allows her to know what to expect. She has a preference towards male dogs though is currently fostered with all females. Even if she was an only dog, that would suit her just fine since she very much loves attention from people and hasn't met a stranger. If children are in the home, they should be over the age of 8 due to how much this girl loves jumping. She could easily knock a small child down on accident since she jumps about 3 feet into the air. Due to a dislike for the leash and her desire to snack on one while wearing it, MPMR requires that Annie goes to a home with a fenced yard. She is house and crate trained in her foster home though will most likely need a refresher in a new environment.
