Story
Meet Ed! Who doesn't love a senior, and a senior Dachshund at that? At 12 years old, we would love nothing more than to see sweet Ed find his forever home sooner than later! A bit more about Ed: Typical Dachschund! Brash, confident, and opinionated, Ed fits the Dachschund standard to a T. Nothing can stop this strong-willed boy! Lap dog! At the end of the day, all Ed wants to do is snuggle up with his favorite person. Lover of snacks! By adopting Ed, you have now signed over the rights to 50% of the food in your home. If you do not share with the little old man, he will yell at you until he is appeased. (It's pretty endearing, really!) Dog friendly! While his days of playing are over, Ed doesn't mind co-existing with other dogs so long as they respect his space! Meet Ed any time during business hours! We are open Monday-Friday from 11-4! Or, fill out an application on our website and a member of our adoption team will be with you within 48 hours to schedule something! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAD/Dog

Story
Blue is a 5 month old blue color dachshund/min pin mix and is currently around 13 lbs. Blue is a giant cuddle bug and loves to be with his humans every chance he gets. He is good with dogs of all sizes and very cat friendly. He would love a dog or cat sibling however would be ok on his own as well. He has no food reactivity and loves his toys and treats! Given his age Blue is still working on potty training and leash walking, however he is very smart and is getting better every day! Blue is kennel trained and at first can come across shy but give him a few minutes and he will be over it in a flash!

Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they are adopted. ALL our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Truffle - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Truffle and her siblings were not living in the best of situations when we received the call about them. They are now safe, dry and warm and getting lots of love. And ready to start their life with their very own family. With all her sweetness Truffles was named after the decadent chocolate dessert, which means you can have your daily dose of sweetness without any of the guilt!! What a better way to start your day then with your sugar fix, and it only takes a few puppy kisses, tail wags and cuddles to keep you going all day long!!! As with your typical puppy, Truffle is playful and ready to explore...everywhere!! Mom was a dachshund mix and dad was anyone's best guess (maybe a chihuahua). With her breed mix she should stay on the smaller side when fully grown. She'll be an awesome size for lap sharing, neighborhood strolls, tagging along on errands and cuddling in between. Truffle is in need of her fur-ever home. If you've been missing something in your life you may not even known was missing, Truffle just may be the piece of the puzzle to make it complete!!

Story
Can you handle the cuteness?? Let us introduce you to Miss Daisy! Please read below for what her foster mommy has to say about this wonderful lady!! She is located in St. Louis MO. Daisy is an 15 pound, 8-year-old doxie who is absolutely filled with life and love. She is potty trained, can sleep in a crate, and is dog friendly. She is one of the sweetest dogs ever, and puts a smile on my face as her foster all day every day. Some of her favorite things to do include snuggling right up next to her humans in bed, going for long walks, and spending time lounging in the backyard. She is really great on her leash and loves going for walks. She responds to her name, and is surprisingly skilled at getting herself untangled when her leash gets wrapped up. She knows how to sit/lay down for a treat with a hand signal, but she prefers to stand up on her back legs with her little front paws tucked to “earn” her treats, haha! She’s extremely loyal and wants to be by your side as much as she can. She gets so happy when her humans come home, and will run to the door to greet you! She is good with other dogs, and has been playing with some other dogs in the family. Her favorite playmate is a 1-year-old pittie, who she chases around the backyard. She has a lot of energy for an 8-year-old, but she isn’t overly hyper. She’s always down for a cuddle and a nap. We recently discovered that she does really well in the crate, and can sleep in it overnight without any fuss. She will even go into the crate on her own to relax. However, she would do best in a home with someone who is willing to let her sleep in bed with them as she really loves to cuddle and craves affection. She enjoys playing with toys, and is definitely a toy-destroyer! She prefers soft toys. She likes to fling them around the room and chase them. She can be a bit skiddish but is quick to warm up with reassurance and a gentle approach. She enjoys being held and might seek for your to pick her up if she’s nervous. She eats really well out of a slow feeder bowl, and loves treats. She’s so flexible and could be a great dog for anyone, whether you’re highly or moderately active. She would enjoy somewhere with a backyard, but would be fine in an apartment as long as she could go for lots of walks. She’s the sweetest dog and deserves the best home!! Applications can be filled out at actnowrescue.net

"Get your motor runnin'! Head out on the highway! Looking for adventure and whatever comes our way!!!" That is one pawsome song right? My name is Wanda! I am a year old lowriding dachshund MIX :) looking for an ACTIVE family! They say I'm a very smart cookie, that sounds amazing!!! Who doesn't like cookies?! I know sit, fetch and learning to drop it. I have doggie friends and I've met the kitties and they are ok too! I am still a little nervous with new people and sometimes like to bork at them so they know I'm there. Foster mom is teaching me so many cool things all the time. I am crate trained and I LOOOVE belly rubs! I would do great with an active family that likes to go on hikes, adventures and give me lots of chewy toys and stimulate my growing mind! If you like to have a good time like me, have your people get with my people and let's get this pawty started!!! Local (Texas) adoption fee is $200 Out of state (Transport) adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)
