Story
Shorty is a sweet, energetic 1-year-old guy who’s always ready for fun! He walks great on a leash and is doing fantastic with his potty training. He loves to run and play, so a fenced yard is a must — especially since chasing squirrels is one of his favorite activities! When it’s time to relax, Shorty enjoys hopping up beside you and giving gentle kisses on your ear and hair — it’s his way of showing love. He’s happy with or without another dog, as long as his playmate matches his size and energy level. Shorty also enjoys car rides, chewing on his toys and Nylabones, and spending time with his person. Because of his playful spirit, he’ll do best in a home without small children. If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion who will keep you smiling and active, Shorty might be your perfect match! Shorty is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, heart worm negative, on heartworm preventative, de-wormed, and microchipped. Shorty’s adoption fee is $375.00. Please go to our website aaprescue.org to learn about our adoption process.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🎭 Meet Abbott – The Funniest Pup on the Field! 🎭 At about 1 year old and 18 pounds, Abbott may not be a stand-up comedian, but he and his brother Costello are quite the comedy duo! Always ready to keep you laughing, Abbott’s got the timing, the energy, and the charm to turn every day into a highlight reel of “Who’s on first?” moments. (Spoiler alert: Abbott says he’s on first. Every time. 🐾) With his beautiful dark gray coat and warm tan markings, he’s as dashing as he is delightful. Still a puppy at heart, Abbott is playful, affectionate, and full of life. He’s the pawfect size for both outdoor adventures and couch-time cuddles, making him the best of both worlds — your hiking buddy and your Classic Comedy co-star. He does great with his foster dog pals and, while cats are still an unknown, we think with proper introductions he just might surprise us - he’s got that comedian charm that’s hard to resist. Abbott’s the kind of guy who doesn’t just make you smile — he makes you laugh out loud. Whether he’s chasing a toy, zooming across the yard, or tilting his head like he’s waiting for his cue, he’s always ready to bring joy to the scene. So, who’s on first? Abbott, of course! 🎬 Adopt this lovable goofball and get ready for endless laughs, unconditional love, and your very own furry best friend. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org

Story
Meet Tex – Your Loyal Little Lookout! 🐾 Tex is an approximately 2-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix (or at least that’s our best guess), and he’s the perfect blend of small size and big heart. This sweet boy came to us from a rural shelter where he was very shut down and scared. Since arriving in his foster home, Tex has truly blossomed into a much more relaxed and confident pup. Now that he knows he’s safe, Tex enjoys the comforts of home life: lounging around, following his humans, and hanging out with the other dogs in the house. He’s also curious about the cats, though if they dart off too quickly, he might give a bark or two to let them know he noticed. Tex is an excellent little alert dog who takes his job seriously. If something unusual is happening around the property or if a sneaky squirrel dares to raid the bird feeder, Tex will sound the alarm. He’s got a great nose for mischief and will keep your porch squirrel-free. Tex would thrive in a calm, low-activity home where he can build a strong bond with his adopter. Once he knows he’s safe and loved, he’ll likely become your loyal little shadow. Tex is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and preventions. Please note: Tex is only eligible for local adoption in the San Antonio area at this time. It took him several months to fully warm up in his foster home, and we are hoping to find an adopter nearby. If any issues arise, we want to ensure we can easily bring him back into our care. If you are in the San Antonio area and looking for a sweet and loyal companion, Tex might just be the perfect fit. Go ahead and submit an adoption application for him now! $200 Local Adoption Fee

Story
Rusty Wallace is a 3-year-old dachshund mix.   Rusty is house trained, cat and dog friendly, and enjoys human companions of all ages.  If in a home with children, they need to be older children that understand Rusty's needs noted below.   He loves car rides. He sleeps in bed with his human but will also sleep in a kennel. He loves to burrow so blankets are a must!   Rusty came back into rescue severally overweight.  You can see that in his before and after photo in his bio. He worked hard and is now back to a healthy weight and just needs to maintain.    Rusty requires a home with no steps or minimal steps. He is currently in a home that has mostly single steps and where there are two steps, he has a ramp. He had to have spinal surgery so limited steps are a must. Steps are also needed for him to get on and off the couch and bed.    Rusty has seizures.  At this time he is not on meds but just being monitored.     If you would like more information about Rusty Wallace, we would be happy to answer them.  If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Rusty Wallace’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
