Story
Meet S'more! Smore is an adorable, approximately 1-year-old Dachshund weighing a petite 12 pounds. Due to being nearly completely deaf, she can be timid in new situations and around unfamiliar people. However, once she feels safe and comfortable, this sweet little girl truly blossoms. While Smore may be shy at first, a little patience and understanding are rewarded with one of the most loving, affectionate companions you could ever hope to meet. She is incredibly devoted to her people and a world-class cuddlebug. Every minute spent earning her trust is well worth the wait! Smore absolutely loves other dogs and thrives in the company of her canine friends. Whether she's playing, roughhousing, or snuggling up for a nap, she always wants to be part of the pack. Because of this, she will do best in a home with a securely fenced yard and another active, confident dog to help show her the ropes and continue building her confidence. When she isn't busy with her dog friends, Smore wants nothing more than to be close to her humans. She cherishes lap time with her foster mom, eagerly soaks up affection, and loves giving kisses. She is attentive, gentle, and happiest when spending time with those she trusts. Being deaf certainly hasn't stopped Smore from expressing herself! She grumbles playfully to encourage her dog buddies to join in the fun and will bark when something catches her attention or makes her uneasy, such as unfamiliar visitors, squirrels, or even the lawn robot. She is curious about the resident cats but has shown no interest in chasing them. Smore is comfortable in her crate, fully housebroken, and has done an excellent job learning visual cues from her foster mom, with a little help from her canine companions. She enjoys her meals, takes treats gently, and continues to impress everyone with her adaptability and sweet nature. If you're looking for a gentle, loving companion with a playful spirit, a heart full of affection, and an elite cuddle game, Smore may be the perfect match for you! Story
Just like her sweet name, Biscoff is a gentle girl with a heart that's slowly blossoming. She has made incredible progress in foster care and is looking for a patient family who will continue to help her shine. Biscoff is both potty trained and crate trained, making her an easy addition to the right home. She gets along well with most dogs, although she may bark at other dogs while she's on a leash. Once she's had the opportunity to meet them appropriately, she does well and truly benefits from having another confident canine companion. Watching and following her furry friends has helped her gain confidence, so a home with another friendly dog is a must for this sweet girl. One of Biscoff's favorite parts of the day is her long daily walks. They've become something she genuinely looks forward to and have played a huge role in helping her build confidence. After a nice walk, she's always ready for treats—especially her favorite afternoon chew! Biscoff has come so far. She now comes to her foster mom asking to be picked up onto the couch or bed, where she'll happily snuggle up beside you for pets and cuddles. While she loves affection, she prefers it on her own terms and can still be nervous if someone reaches down toward her while standing. She'll need a family that understands she's still building trust and will let her move at her own pace. Because she's still timid, Biscoff will need to remain on a leash whenever she's outside to keep her safe. If you're looking for a sweet, quiet companion and have a friendly dog who can show her the ropes, Biscoff will reward your patience with the most heartwarming moments as she continues to grow into the confident, loving girl she's becoming.   Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 11-3 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person.   Follow us on Facebook for additional updates and sneak peeks of new dogs!  https://www.facebook.com/reachrescue ##2764505##

Story
Let`s introduce you to Keena! This sweet girl is around 3 yrs old and thought to be a dachshund mix. Keena is hoping for a quieter home where her humans are around throughout the day. She seems fine without having a doggie friend in the house and might even prefer it...... all the attention and treats for herself is not a bad thing in her book. She`s completely house trained, sleeps soundly through the night, and already knows commands like `stay,` `no,` and `down.` She loves spending time outdoors, keeping a watchful eye on squirrels without feeling the need to chase them. She walks beautifully on a leash especially when no there are no distractions but can easily be startled by unfamiliar people or canines that cross her path, and is still working through some separation anxiety. She`s a quick learner who wants nothing more than to make her people proud!Keena enjoys a simple routine and is perfectly satisfied with a comfy bed near her favorite humans. If you`re looking for a loyal companion whose courage shines through in everyday moments, Keena may be the little sidekick you`ve been waiting for.We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog`s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don`t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Story
Meet Simon, a tiny low-riding fellow with a personality much bigger than his little Doxi-mix body. Named in honor of author Isabel Klee`s beloved late dog, this Simon seems determined to make the name his own—with a little mischief, a lot of charm, and a heart that`s already overflowing. His favorite pastime is wrestling with his mom, followed closely by investigating anything that looks remotely like trouble. When the days adventures are over, though, Simon is happy to curl up for some sweet snuggles, preferably with a favorite bone or toy nearby.Around 2 months old, Simon is guessed to be a Dachshund mix—perhaps a `Chiweenie`—and he has all the low-slung cuteness you could hope for. He might be around 40 lbs. when full grown. He adores children, loves romping with the big dogs, and approaches life with the cheerful confidence of a puppy who assumes everyone he meets is a new friend. He may be tiny, but Simon is already proving that sometimes the smallest characters have the biggest stories to tell.We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dogs` individual needs. Story
Meet Benjamin, the quietest little fellow in his lively Doxi-mix family, and perhaps the one most likely to sneak quietly into your heart before you even realize it. With his sweet, cuddly nature and an irresistibly adorable overbite, Benjamin has a way of making himself unforgettable without ever needing to be the center of attention. He`s the sort of puppy who is perfectly content to curl up close, soak up some affection, and let his siblings handle the mischief.About 2 months old, Benjamin is a low-riding little guy, believed to be a Dachshund mix—possibly a `Chiweenie`—and he has a few special details that make him entirely his own. Maybe getting as big as 50lbs when full grown, his spotted coat gives him a wonderfully unique look, while his beautiful green eyes, just like his mamas, are nearly impossible to resist. Gentle, sweet, and wonderfully cuddly, Benjamin may be the quietest of the bunch, but he has a feeling that once he chooses you, hell have plenty to say with his eyes—and his heart. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dogs` individual needs. Story
Meet Jude, the handsome little MVP of his Doxi-mix litter! Named after soccer star Jude Bellingham, this 8-week-old standout may be the biggest of his brothers, but he`s just as quick to make a beeline for your lap. With gorgeous green eyes like his mamas and a beautifully spotted coat, Jude certainly knows how to turn heads—and he`s always ready to make a play for your heart.Playful, affectionate, and full of puppy spirit, Jude brings his A-game to everything he does. Whether he`s chasing toys, roughhousing with his brothers, or curling up for some post-game cuddles, this little superstar is happiest when he`s part of the action. He may be the largest of the three, but when it comes to loving his people, Jude has an MVP-sized heart! We love our dogs.
